The Maciej Shaft

The Maciej Shaft is a mine in miniature. The sightseeing route leads from the top of the hoisting tower through the heart of the mine, i.e. the hoisting machine, to a peek into the depths of the earth. Within the complex there is a post-mine heap, entered in the register of monuments, in front of which there is a stage which is a former viaduct connecting the complex with Gliwice. We are the only facility in the Silesian Voivodeship located simultaneously on the Industrial Monuments Route and the “Silesian Tastes” Culinary Route. The biggest attractions of Szybu Maciej include: - preserved buildings and equipment of the former mining plant from the beginning of the 20th century, - the possibility of descending to the shaft water intake and learning about the origins of its creation, - a restaurant on 2 levels created in the main building of the mine, - the possibility of seeing the surroundings of Zabrze and Gliwice from the viewing platform on the lift tower at the level of 25 m above the ground, - the opportunity to participate in the demonstration of the hoisting machine, - an example of sustainable revitalization of a former mining complex. #polandtravel #mine #museum #restaurant
