Huang Yao in Hezhou, Guangxi Province

Huang Yao is located in Hezhou, Guangxi province. It is one of the best preserved ancient towns in all of China with a history of over 1000 years. The town is immaculate, with numerous narrow cobbled streets opening up onto squares, ponds, lakes or gardens. The town runs either side of a small river, which has a clear and central prominence in the life of the locals. The town is full of coffee shops, restaurants, boutique restaurants and craft shops.
