Visited Zhuhai Chimelong and took the chance to check out Dong'ao Island's Alila! After staying, I felt that "overall, it exceeded expectations." Here's my honest review 👇 🏨 Hotel Experience: The scenery is everything! ✨ Cliffside Ocean Views: The location surrounded by the sea on three sides is unbeatable! Just a few steps away, you'll find breathtaking ocean views. While it may not rival Southeast Asia, the vacation vibes are absolutely on point (photos don't do it justice 😭). However, the courtyard design in the guest room area is quite ordinary, lacking a touch of luxury. • Room Interior: Minimalist Zen style really hits the mark for me! The only regret is that the bathtub doesn't offer ocean views, but the bedding is comfortable, amenities are complete, and overall, the stay was very pleasant. 🏊♀️ Pool Highlights & Downsides • Stunning Views: Swimming while overlooking the ocean is a visual treat! The Instagram-famous cliffside pool guarantees great photos (sorry for the overused shots 🤣). • Non-Heated Pool Issue: The water in May is still chilly ❄️! Can't imagine how it feels in March or April. If you want to enjoy the pool, make sure to visit during peak season; otherwise, you might just end up staring at it... 💁♀️ Service & Dining: Average • Service Attitude: Staff are friendly but somewhat inexperienced, like the slightly slow check-in process. However, it doesn't affect the overall experience. • Food Quality: Not particularly impressive, but the flavors are decent. The seafood is fresh, and the Cantonese dishes are authentic. For a gourmet meal, consider dining off the island. 👨👩👧 Family-Friendly Perks The kids' play area is well-equipped with sand pits, slides, and craft classes. My 4-year-old had so much fun that they didn’t want to leave! Perfect for families with kids. ⚠️ Real Drawbacks to Note ❌ No private beach within the hotel; you need to take a car to the public beach, which is inconvenient. ❌ Long travel time; better suited for a stopover rather than a dedicated trip, as the value might not justify the effort. 🌟 Conclusion: Worth a Stopover! If you're visiting Zhuhai Chimelong, staying here for 1-2 days is definitely worth it! The cliffside ocean views and pool alone make it worthwhile. However, if you're seeking a top-tier luxury experience, you might want to reconsider.
