For travellers seeking authentic culture, nature and slow travel, the highly commercialised experience may feel somewhat overrated. The scenery is attractive, but much of the experience revolves around staged entertainment and photography. In my opinion, Gexian Village is worth visiting once, preferably on a weekday or during the off-season, when the crowds are smaller and the beautiful mountain atmosphere can actually be enjoyed.
