Stunning Scenic Flight Over Greater Victoria
This is an incredible way to explore the Greater Victoria area. The flight travels east along the shoreline before looping back, ensuring both sides enjoy breathtaking views. It flies up the peninsula, showcasing Elk Lake and then the famous Butchart Gardens. On the return south, you’ll see views westward toward Sooke and beyond, as well as eastward toward Mt. Baker and the San Juan Islands. The southern view of Hurricane Ridge is spectacular. Both visitors and locals should experience this at least once. The Harbour Air staff are outstanding—focused on details, safety, and ensuring you have a fantastic time. Highly recommended.

Mossy “Quiet Luxury” on Orcas 🌿 Turtleback Mountain Preserve
📍 Turtleback Mountain Preserve, Orcas Island, Washington, USA
Turtleback is one of Orcas Island’s signature “rich” experiences in the Pacific Northwest sense. The preserve was permanently protected in 2006, when local conservation partners purchased the mountain through a major community fundraising effort, and today it’s conserved jointly by the San Juan County Conservation Land Bank (owner/manager) and the San Juan Preservation Trust (easement holder). The trails move between mossy forest, open meadows, and viewpoints that look out over the San Juans.
For planning: there’s a connected trail system (SJPT lists 8.7 miles of hiking trails) with north + south trailheads, and access is day-use / dawn-to-dusk with stay-on-trail rules to protect sensitive habitat. If you’re coming straight from the ferry, the Land Bank’s map even provides turn-by-turn directions to both trailheads, which makes this an easy “arrive → hike → viewpoint → dinner” Orcas itinerary.

A wonderful camping in park ❤️
#campingfun
Last weekend, I was lucky enough to grab the lakeside camp in Orcas Island Moran State Park and experience the Snow Peak Alpha Breeze by the way.
1. Camp location: I booked Mountain Lake Loop this time.
Basically, all locations have lake front view. The disadvantage is that the location is small and there are only dry toilets, but there is a camp host to clean it every day. There is no network signal in the camp, and it is relatively quiet, which is suitable for everyone to disconnect and empty.
Two. Remember to make a reservation for Ferry when you go to Orcas Island. You can make an appointment 2 months, 2 weeks, or 2 days in advance at 7:00 a.m.! This time, the ship was broken, resulting in a delay of several hours. The stand by car will be persuaded to leave, so remember to grab the reservation-
3. There is an easy trail in Moran State Park where the camping is located, round trip
Four waterfalls can be seen in 1.2 miles (Figure 10-11), and the puppy is also very happy to play with water! You can see san juan islands on the top of the park, and you may also see the snowy mountains super shocking! The cascade lake in the park can also rent a boat (Figure 12), but it closes early, so we don't rent a heart after three o'clock Four. Recommend Buck Bay Shellfish Farm, a treasure restaurant on the island! It looks like a large stall, but I didn't expect the arrangement to be beautiful and delicious.
5. The last picture is Obstruction Pass, which is a very primitive State park,
