A Day Out Full of Laughs and Surprises
We took our two teenage sons to Stubby Pigs for “something a bit different,” and it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable family outings we’ve had in ages. Not an easy task with teenagers in the eye-rolling phase of life. From the moment we met Rodney Trotter, Jimmy, Peggy Sue, and Dozer, we knew we were in for something special. What characters they were!
We walked the pigs and even took them for a paddle in the lake. Seeing four pigs trot determinedly toward the water like they had a spa appointment was worth the trip alone. Our boys, who typically default to shrugging as communication, were laughing, racing with the pigs, and fully invested in who would win. We also got to groom and feed them, which turned out to be surprisingly relaxing. Jimmy’s hilarious tricks had us all in stitches.
Rosie, the owner, was fantastic—warm, funny, and clearly passionate about her animals. You can tell she genuinely loves them, and she shared plenty of fascinating stories and interesting information. It was just good fun topped with great storytelling.
On top of the pigs, we had the chance to meet and hold other animals, including skunks (shockingly cute and cuddly), ferrets, guinea pigs, and even meerkats.
Overall, the experience was wholesome, hilarious, and truly unique. Even our teenagers had a fantastic time—worthy of a five-star review on its own. Highly recommend Stubby Pigs if you’re looking for a fun and unforgettable day out!
