Perched high above the Mediterranean between Nice and Monaco, Èze looks like a medieval village suspended above the sea. Stone streets, tiny galleries, bougainvillea-covered houses and spectacular coastal views make it one of the most beautiful stops on the French Riviera. ✨ Walk through the old village 🌿 Visit the Exotic Garden 🌊 Look down over the Mediterranean 🍷 Have lunch at a terrace with a sea view Best time: April–June & September–October. 💰 Hotels: €100–250/night Luxury: €300–700+ 🍖 Try : Provençal cuisine, fresh seafood and local wine. 📌Tip: Visit early in the morning, then continue to Monaco or Menton.

My experience in Èze was memorable because of the combination of historic village streets and spectacular coastal scenery. I spent time walking uphill through the old stone passageways, stopping whenever I found an interesting doorway or viewpoint. From higher up, the blue Mediterranean stretched out below the village, creating one of the most memorable views of my trip. I did not want to rush through the experience, so I took several breaks to enjoy the surroundings. Èze felt completely different from the larger coastal towns nearby, and I would happily return to explore it at a slower pace. #repeatdestination #repeatdestination

Just got back from France, and the aftereffects are so strong I don’t want to go back to work! Stop thinking only about the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The sunshine, lavender, and the French Riviera in the south are the true “moving feast”✨ ✨ These highlights are worth crossing the ocean for · Colmar: Filming location for "Chinese Restaurant"! Fairy-tale half-timbered houses, blooming flowers along the canals in the Little Venice district, boating through it feels like stepping into a Studio Ghibli animation🛶 · Èze: A medieval village perched on a cliff! Overlooking the entire Mediterranean from the botanical garden, the sea and sky blend into one breathtaking view. Be sure to visit before sunset to see golden light spill over the stone walls🌅 · Palace of Versailles: The luxury of the Hall of Mirrors is indescribable! Hundreds of mirrors reflect crystal chandeliers, showcasing Louis XIV’s ultimate Versailles. The gardens are so vast you can explore them on horseback, and the fountain shows are stunning👑 · Mont Saint-Michel: A tidal island! At high tide it becomes a mystical island in the sea, and at low tide you can walk across the bay. The nighttime light show makes the abbey even more mysterious🌙 🗺️ 7 days 6 nights, classic itinerary · Day 1–2: Arrive in Paris, spend two days at the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, and Seine river cruise. · Day 3: Take the high-speed train from Paris to Strasbourg, then transfer to Colmar to experience Alsace charm. · Day 4: Depart Colmar, stop by Èze, arrive in Nice in the afternoon, stay on the French Riviera. · Day 5: Relax by the Nice beach or take a day trip to Monaco. · Day 6: Fly or take the train back to Paris, spend a full day at the Palace of Versailles. · Day 7: Shop in Paris or visit Mont Saint-Michel (choose one; Mont Saint-Michel is farther and requires an early departure and late return), then return. 🥢 A French culinary journey · Croissant + coffee: Breakfast staple! Crispy outside, soft inside, paired with a latte, sitting on a street corner watching passersby is the French daily routine🥐 · Mussels with fries: A northern classic! Cooked in white wine, incredibly fresh and sweet, generous portions. · Macarons: The best are from Pierre Hermé! Crispy shell, dense filling, rose flavor is a classic.

I’m not a scientist, but after spending a few days exploring the Côte d’Azur, I think there might be some truth to it. Maybe it’s the sound of the waves below the cliffs. Maybe it’s the sunshine. Maybe it’s the feeling of slowing down and realising that not every minute of the day needs to be productive. One of my favourite moments in Èze wasn’t ticking off sights from a list. It was simply standing here, looking out over the Mediterranean. If you’re planning a trip to the South of France, don’t just rush between destinations. Leave time to sit, wander and enjoy the view. — Hi, I’m Genalda 🙋🏾♀️ your travel bestie sharing travel guides and tips to help you explore the world on a budget while working full-time! I visited Èze during a trip along the French Riviera, and the village immediately felt like somewhere I could return to without needing a special reason. I enjoyed wandering through the narrow stone lanes, discovering small shops, and stopping at viewpoints overlooking the Mediterranean. The climb through the village was part of the experience, and I liked how each turn revealed another beautiful corner. I also enjoyed slowing down and sitting for a while instead of trying to see everything quickly. By the time I left, I was already imagining another visit, perhaps at a quieter time of day. #repeatdestination #repeatdestination

Perched high above the Mediterranean, Èze is one of those places that feels almost too pretty to be real. Think cobbled streets, stone houses covered in flowers and sweeping views over the French Riviera. If you're visiting the Côte d'Azur, I'd highly recommend spending at least half a day here. Wander through the medieval village, get lost in the tiny alleyways, visit the Exotic Garden and take your time soaking in the views. I visited as part of a road trip through the South of France and it quickly became one of my favourite stops. While places like Nice and Monaco often steal the spotlight, Èze offers a slower pace and some of the most spectacular scenery on the coast. 📍 Perfect as a half-day trip from Nice 🚌 Get a bus to Èze-Village 🚆 Reachable by train too , although be prepared for a climb from the station 🚗 Around 30 minutes by car Would you add Èze to your France itinerary? — Hi, I’m Genalda 🙋🏾♀️ your travel bestie sharing travel guides and tips to help you explore the world on a budget while working full-time! When I traveled to Èze, I expected a beautiful French village, but the atmosphere made a stronger impression on me than I anticipated. I remember walking through the winding streets, admiring the old stone buildings, and stopping at viewpoints to look across the coastline. There was something peaceful about exploring without following a strict schedule. I also enjoyed discovering little details that I might have missed if I had rushed through the village. I left with plenty of photos but also the feeling that one visit was not enough. Èze is definitely somewhere I would enjoy experiencing again. #repeatdestination #repeatdestination

🌟Southern France, God’s spilled palette—the summer lavender purple becomes an ocean, the jelly-like blue of the Côte d'Azur is crystal clear, and the medieval hill towns’ stones glow with warm golden hues. Here you’ll find the sunflower fields painted by Van Gogh, the coastline beloved by Picasso, and rosé wine brewed by the sunshine. Four days and three nights, take you from purple flower seas to the blue coast, collecting French romance all at once~👇 🛫 DAY 1: Valensole · Fall into a Purple Ocean💜 🌞Early morning, rent a car from Marseille or Avignon (about 1.5 hours’ drive) and head straight to the Valensole Plateau. This is Provence’s largest lavender growing area, with 80 square kilometers of purple flower seas stretching along both sides of the D6 road. Early July is peak bloom, and the undulating flower fields look like Monet’s palette. Take advantage of the soft morning light to run and take photos among the flowers, with the air filled with fragrance. 🍽️Lunch at a farmhouse beside the D6 road Must-try: Lavender honey roasted lamb chops, Ratatouille, rosé wine, paired with freshly baked baguette, dining under a sunshade by the flower fields. 🌊In the afternoon, continue driving along the D6 road, encountering sunflower fields where golden yellow and purple intertwine in strong contrast. Visit the Lavender Museum along the way to learn about century-old distillation techniques and buy a bottle of pure essential oil as a souvenir. 🌅Before evening, head to Lake Sainte-Croix, about a 40-minute drive. The emerald lake is nestled in the Verdon Gorge. Rent a kayak at sunset to paddle to the lake’s center, jump into the cool water, and swap lavender purple for lake blue. 🏰 DAY 2: Stone Town and Red Earth Town · The Poetry of Mountain Living🎨 🌞In the morning, drive to Gordes (Stone Town), a filming location for "A Year in Provence." The entire village is built on a hill, with stone houses stacked layer upon layer, looking like a castle floating in the air from the viewpoint. Hidden in the village alleys are galleries and craft shops, with surprises behind every wooden door. 🍽️Lunch at an outdoor restaurant in Gordes Must-try: Provence olive tapenade, goat cheese salad, grilled vegetable platter, paired with a glass of local rosé. 🌊In the afternoon, drive 15 minutes to Roussillon (Red Earth Town), where ochre cliffs dye the whole village orange-red. Walking on the “Ochre Trail,” the red, yellow, and orange rock layers glow under the sun—wearing a white dress for photos is stunning. The village market on Thursdays offers handmade pottery and lavender sachets. 🌅In the evening, drive 20 minutes to Sénanque Abbey, hidden in a valley. The lavender fields in front of the abbey and the gray-white stone walls create a classic scene. The light at sunset is the gentlest, the birthplace of Provence postcards. 🌊 DAY 3: Nice · The Jelly Sea of the Côte d'Azur🏖️ 🌞In the morning, drive 2.5 hours to Nice and head straight to Castle Hill. Climb to the top for a panoramic view of the entire Baie des Anges. The crescent-shaped coastline shows layered blues—mint green near the shore and deep indigo farther out. The “I LOVE NICE” photo spot is on the right side of the Castle Hill entrance. 🍽️Lunch in Nice Old Town Must-try: Niçoise salad (tuna + egg + olives), Socca (chickpea pancake), seafood platter. Sit at an outdoor spot by the Cours Saleya market and watch locals buy flowers and vegetables. 🌊In the afternoon, stroll through Nice Old Town with its cobblestone alleys, colorful stone houses, and Baroque churches, like stepping into an Italian film. Walk along the Promenade des Anglais, rent a blue chair to relax, and watch the jelly-like sea sparkle under the sun. 🌅In the evening, take a 15-minute train ride to Villefranche-sur-Mer, a quieter town mostly with European faces. Have a drink by the harbor and watch the sunset dye the sea golden. 🏡 DAY 4: Èze and Menton · Fairy Tales on the Cliff🏰 🌞In the morning, drive 20 minutes to the medieval eagle’s nest town of Èze on the cliff. Climb the Nietzsche Path (or take the bus) to the top, where an exotic garden full of cacti overlooks the entire Mediterranean, breathtakingly beautiful. The village alleys are like a maze, with stone paths, arches, and galleries—every step a scenic view. 🍽️Lunch at a restaurant in Èze Must-try: Provence roasted leg of lamb, lavender crème brûlée, dining at a cliffside restaurant with sea views. 🌊In the afternoon, drive 30 minutes to Menton, the lemon town. Colorful houses cascade down the hillside to the sea, and the stairs from the old town to the church are a classic photo spot. The Lemon Festival is in February, but you can buy lemon products as souvenirs year-round. 🌅At sunset on Menton beach, take one last look and pack the southern France sunshine, flower seas, and blue into your memory before heading home🦋 ⛺ Must-Do Experiences at a Glance · Valensole Lavender Fields: Peak bloom in July, purple ocean · Lake Sainte-Croix Boating: Emerald lake and gorge in one frame · Gordes Stone Town: Filming location of "A Year in Provence" · Roussillon Red Earth Town: Orange fairy tale on ochre cliffs · Nice Castle Hill: Overlooking Baie des Anges jelly sea · Èze Exotic Garden: Cacti and Mediterranean on the clifftop 🏨 Accommodation Guide · Provence: Stay in guesthouses in Gordes or Roussillon, waking up in the mountain town morning light · Nice: Old Town or along the Promenade des Anglais, convenient and lively · Èze: Cliff hotels, pricey but unbeatable views 🚌 Transportation Guide ✈️ International: Direct flights to Nice Côte d'Azur Airport / Marseille Provence Airport 🚗 Intercity: Car rental and self-driving highly recommended! Don’t leave luggage visible in the car to avoid break-ins · Bloom check: Check local lavender harvest times before traveling to avoid missing the flowers · Town etiquette: Cover shoulders and knees when entering churches; some shops close on Sundays · Photo timing: Early morning and evening light is softest; midday flower fields are too harsh 🌟In southern France, you’ll understand what it means to “live like a local.” The lavender fields’ breeze blows purple into your dreams, Lake Sainte-Croix’s water soaks blue into your memory, and the stone town’s sunshine stretches the days slow, slow.

Day 6: Paris → Nice · Check out of the hotel and head to Gare de Lyon to take the high-speed train (INOUI 6175 10:09-16:08) to Nice. Along the way, you can see the castles of the Loire Valley, the lavender fields of Provence, and the blue coastline of the Mediterranean Sea. · Check in at the Hotel Suisse in Nice · Watch the stunning sunset over the Bay of Nice from Castle Hill · Evening stroll through Nice Old Town · Tips: ① It is recommended to allow plenty of time to get to the train station as traffic is congested; ② The high-speed train has WiFi with a stable and strong signal, and the homepage shows arrival information; ③ Train tickets can be purchased on Trip.com by selecting international routes for convenience and timeliness; ④ For restaurant information in Paris and Nice, it is recommended to use the Google Maps app, which provides reliable ratings and reviews as well as online reservation services. Some restaurants do not accept walk-ins during peak hours without a reservation. Day 7: Nice → Antibes · From Nice-Ville train station, a 20-minute ride to Antibes · Port Vauban, one of Europe's largest yacht marinas; along the way, visit the defensive Fort Carré, with the Alps visible on the horizon · The Alphabet Man sculpture, a white hollow human figure quietly sitting on the city wall, gazing at the Mediterranean Sea · Picasso Museum, housing 23 oil paintings and 44 sketches by Picasso · Return to Nice and attend the opening of the Nice Christmas Market (Marché de Noël Méditerranéen) at Place Masséna · Tips: ① It is recommended to take Line L to the train station in Nice; a single ticket costs €1.7 with a €2 card fee; bus tickets in Antibes cost €2 per ride. Use the Google Maps app to check bus schedules, arrival times, and wait times; ② Personally, I find Antibes more beautiful than Menton and Èze. It is perfect for relaxing by the sea or having afternoon tea in an old town café, with many coastal trails to explore and stunning snowy mountain backdrops.

🏷️Day 4: Èze + Nice Èze is a mountain village hidden on a cliff. The village is small and can be explored in one or two hours. There is a machine at the foot of the mountain to buy tickets for the botanical garden, with a Chinese language option. 2️⃣ Walk up the mountain road; the small towns along the way are very distinctive. 3️⃣ Reach the top botanical garden Jardin Exotique d’Èze, with the Côte d'Azur, cliffside greenery, and sculptures, like an oil painting. When you go to Nice, please arrange for this filming opportunity! Nice-Eze town Le Jardin Exotique botanical garden (first picture) transportation: 1. Uber from Nice to Le Jardin Exotique Botanical Garden, 20 minutes' drive, 25-30 euros (can be considered for more than two people, and the travel time is easier to control) 2. Nice city bus route 602/82. I saw others sharing the beautiful sea views along the way. It is recommended to sit on the right side by the window when getting on the bus! (Note that the trip is once an hour on weekends and is very unpunctual, so don’t make your schedule too tight) The Fragonard perfume at the entrance of the town is highly recommended! ! I originally thought it was the kind of rich perfume that is exclusive to Europeans, but the Asian salesperson recommended Grenade Pivoine to me, and I directly took out my credit card to pay. The smell is a very natural floral fragrance ~ It will never be pungent and dizzy, and it will make me feel dizzy every time I spray it. Asked for a bottle. Le Jardin Exotique botanical garden 🎫 8 euros/person The feeling of being surrounded by cacti for the first time, taking photos is very photogenic! ! 🌵Eze town and stroll slowly➕It is recommended to stay at least 3 hours for dining Eze-✖️(Monaco)✖️-Manton Since I have no interest in casinos, racing, or sports cars, I just skipped Monaco😎 Friends who are interested can arrange to visit the next stop in Eze. transportation: 1. Eze Village bus station No. 83🚌, get off at Gare Eze and take the train to Menton. 2. Eze directly called Uber to Menton. I chose Menton station for location. (The reason why I didn’t choose an attraction as a drop-off point is that I wanted to check the return time first, and then budget the time to walk back to Nice) Most of the scenic spots are near the Plage des Sablettes on the seaside. It is not very far from the train station. It is very suitable for walking and taking pictures! Must-photographed attractions are not kept secret🍋 Rpe Saint-Michel (Figure 8-9) Old Port Of Menton (Picture 7) Atelier Said Berkane (Picture 10) That’s right! There are many lemon souvenirs and cute things here that can be used as souvenirs♥️ At the end of the day, it’s almost time to go directly to the station and take the train back to Nice Old Town for dinner~ It’s a perfect one-day trip♥️ For dinner, I strongly recommend BOCCACCIO in downtown Nice, the price is normal and the environment is OK! The point is it’s delicious 😎 #GlobalTravel #100 Ways to Travel #couples travel #Southern France attractions #Menton #menton #eze Botanical Garden #Nice travel

In the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of southern France, there are many medieval towns that seem isolated from the world, and Èze is one of them. The biggest highlight of Èze is the view from the tropical garden at the top of the hill, where you can overlook the entire village and enjoy the stunning Mediterranean scenery. The garden is located on what used to be a medieval fortress, at an altitude of about 429 meters. It features a variety of tropical plants, with uniquely shaped cacti that are particularly eye-catching. After leaving the garden, it's recommended to take some time to leisurely explore the town of Èze. The village of Èze is well-preserved, with exquisite old houses built from large stone blocks along the steep cliffs, exuding a rich historical and artistic atmosphere.

The town of Èze in the south of France is like a shy beauty, leaning gently on the cliffs of the Côte d'Azur. As she lifts her mysterious veil, she reveals a mesmerizing sea view. The sea, like a giant sapphire, sparkles under the sunlight, with waves shimmering as if countless fairies are dancing and playing on the water. Walking on the cobblestone streets of the town, you can almost hear the whispers of the waves with every step. They gently lap against the rocks, telling ancient and romantic stories. Turning to look into the distance, the horizon blends the deep blue of the sea with the pure white of the sky, making it seem as if the entire world is enveloped in this boundless blue and white. Standing at the highest point of the town, you feel as if you are floating in the air, with the entire beauty of the Mediterranean laid out before you. In the distance, sailboats leisurely glide through the turquoise waters, leaving white trails behind them, like an artist's delicate strokes on a blue canvas. The sea breeze gently caresses, carrying the salty scent of the sea and the fragrance of flowers, refreshing the soul and making all worries drift away with the wind. In Èze, every scene is a vivid painting, and the sea view is the most captivating chapter of this artwork. It enchants, it beckons, and it is unforgettable.

Located in the south of France, the small town of Èze Village is a must-visit place. The restaurants in Èze come highly recommended. Not only do they offer terraces with fantastic views, but the interiors also provide a breathtaking sight. It's a place known for its views, but the food is also truly delicious.
