If there are two places in the national parks of the American West that truly make you feel the "scale of the Earth," they must be: 🌲 Sequoia National Park 🏔️ Yosemite National Park One makes you feel small standing before the largest living organism on Earth, while the other leaves you in awe of the natural forces that shaped colossal granite valleys over billions of years. This time, we embarked on a 2-day, 2-night whirlwind trip from Los Angeles to connect these two iconic parks. Though the schedule was tight, the breathtaking sights made it all worthwhile. 🌲 Day 1 | Sequoia National Park: Entering the World of Giants We left LA later than planned and arrived at the entrance of Sequoia National Park around 6:30 PM, just as the ticket booth was closing—so we got in for free! 😂 We stayed at: Wuksachi Lodge From the park entrance to the lodge, there’s about an hour of winding mountain roads to navigate: ⛰️ Cliffside roads ↩️ Hairpin turns 🚗 10 mph speed limits Driving this stretch at night was a bit challenging, especially with no streetlights and sections hugging the mountain walls. But the moment we entered the forest and saw those massive trees, all the fatigue vanished. Seeing a giant sequoia in person for the first time feels like: "This doesn’t look like a tree—it feels like an ancient lifeform." No camera can truly capture the overwhelming presence and awe of these trees. Standing among them feels like stepping into Pandora from *Avatar*. 🌌 🌳 General Sherman Tree | One of Earth’s Largest Living Beings A must-see in Sequoia National Park is the: General Sherman Tree It’s not the tallest or the widest tree in the world, but it is: 🌎 The largest single living organism on Earth by volume Some mind-blowing stats: 🌲 Estimated age: 3,000 years 🌲 Height: Over 80 meters (about 26 stories tall) 🌲 Trunk diameter: Over 11 meters 🌲 Elevation: About 2,000 meters Standing before it, you suddenly realize: Human civilization’s thousands of years of history are but a fleeting moment in its lifetime. 🔥 The Sequoia’s Unique Survival Strategy: Embracing Fire Giant sequoias have an extraordinary way of sustaining their ecosystem: They use natural wildfires to complete their life cycle. Their tall crowns are prone to lightning strikes, which ignite fires that: ✅ Clear out competing vegetation ✅ Eliminate some pests and diseases ✅ Open up conditions for sequoia seeds to germinate ✅ Provide nutrient-rich ash for growth Throughout the park, you’ll see many scorched trees. But these seemingly damaged giants are actually thriving in their own life cycle. 📸 Sequoia National Park Highlights We visited: ✅ General Sherman Tree ✅ Parker Group ✅ Tunnel Log ✅ General Grant Tree ✅ Giant Forest Museum ✅ Moro Rock Trail ✅ Congress Trail ⭐ (Highly Recommended) Among these: 🌟 Congress Trail This trail is a must-do. Instead of just seeing one giant sequoia, this route immerses you in an entire forest of them. Along the way, you’ll experience: Towering canopies Dappled sunlight A serene forest atmosphere The sense of immersion is unparalleled. 🌅 A Hidden Regret: Missing the Best Sunset Over the Sea of Clouds Due to poor planning, we missed what many call: "California’s most beautiful sunset over a sea of clouds." If you, like us, arrive in the afternoon, here’s a tip: Head straight to Moro Rock for sunset. From the top of the rock, you can overlook the valley’s sea of clouds as the sun sets behind the mountains—a truly breathtaking sight. The next morning, revisit the sequoias to experience the forest in a completely different light. The early morning sun filtering through the trees creates a magical play of light and shadow. ✨ 🏔️ Day 2 | Yosemite: Granite Cliffs, Waterfalls, and Starry Skies We left Sequoia National Park around 2 PM and drove about 3 hours to: Yosemite National Park With limited time, we went full-on "special forces mode" in Yosemite. 😂 We stayed at: The Ahwahnee Hotel (aka "The Shining Hotel") After dropping off our bags, we skipped resting and headed straight to: Glacier Point 🌄 Glacier Point Sunset: Witnessing Half Dome’s Golden Glow After about an hour’s drive, we reached this iconic viewpoint, where you can see: 🏔️ Half Dome 🌄 Yosemite Valley 🌅 A sunset that paints the valley red As the sun sets, the top of Half Dome glows golden—a classic Yosemite sight. This spot is also perfect for stargazing. On a clear night: ✨ The Milky Way stretches across the entire valley It feels like standing at the center of the universe. 🍕 A Late-Night Pizza Quest After sunset, we drove back for a much-anticipated meal at: "The Best Pizza in America" We ordered: 🍕 Half Dome Pizza 🍕 Glacier Point Pizza Maybe it was the exhaustion from hiking and driving, but at that moment, it truly felt like the best pizza ever! 😂 We returned to the hotel around 10 PM, rested for less than 2 hours, and then set out again at midnight for: Tunnel View Here, we captured the Milky Way 🌌 and even had a surprise encounter with two foxes crossing the road. 🦊 These little moments are what make Yosemite so special. 🌿 Day 2 Morning | Mist Trail Hike + Iconic Views After breakfast, we headed to: Mist Trail This is one of Yosemite’s most iconic hikes, with the goal of reaching: 💦 Vernal Fall As you approach the waterfall, you’ll see: 🌈 Rainbows formed by the mist 💧 Powerful cascades of water 🌲 Stunning forested valleys The hike takes about 2 hours round trip. It’s tiring, but the view of the waterfall makes it all worthwhile. 📸 Yosemite’s Classic Photo Spots Before leaving in the afternoon, we checked off: Tunnel View El Capitan Yosemite Valley View Yosemite’s vibe is completely different from Sequoia’s: Sequoia makes you feel the ancientness of life, while Yosemite makes you feel the raw power of the Earth. With its massive granite cliffs, waterfalls, and valleys, every angle looks like a desktop wallpaper. 💬 Final Thoughts In just two days and two nights, we managed to visit: 🌲 Sequoia 🏔️ Yosemite It was a whirlwind trip, but if you’re short on time, this route is still worth it. If I could plan it again: I’d dedicate at least one full day to Sequoia and three or more days to Yosemite. These parks aren’t just "checklist destinations." They’re places to slow down and truly experience: Watch a sunrise Wait for a sunset Hike a forest trail Sit in a valley and daydream for an afternoon Some places aren’t just meant to be seen—they’re meant to be revisited, over and over again. 🌲✨

📍Sequoia National Park 🌳Also known as Redwood Park, it is adjacent to Kings Canyon National Park, located at the border of California and Nevada. I went there before Christmas, and I was amazed by the beauty of the forest in winter. The snow that hasn't melted yet, the towering redwoods that are tens of meters high, and the surprise of the snow-capped mountains slowly appearing at the corner of the road while sitting in the car. 🚗How to visit: Self-driving is recommended, get off the car for hiking or taking photos 💪My Top Attractions 1️⃣General Grant Tree The tallest tree in the park, but because of the distance, there are fewer visitors, so you have more time to enjoy it up close. You can feel the powerful energy field brought by the ancient and huge trees! 2️⃣Big Tree Trail An easy trail, go for a walk at noon, you can see the beams of sunlight falling into the woods, creating a very quiet and pleasant atmosphere. 💡December Admission Tips 1️⃣The weather has warmed up recently, so snow chains are not needed, and the main road is smooth 2️⃣Download the NPS app or tune in to AM1610 to listen to the park radio for the latest information 3️⃣Be sure to refuel before entering the park❗️Sequoia National Park is very large, and it takes 3-4 hours to check in all the snow scenes, and there is no gas station in the park 4️⃣The snow-covered road is slippery, remember to wear hiking shoes with good friction or put on crampons

Our yearly trip to China Peak was a success this year. Even our beautiful dog Nala enjoyed the snow. It was our first time spending New Year's here, and I can honestly say it was absolutely beautiful. [Fresno Blossom Trial in Sixty Miles] In the large village of Fresno in Central California, there are 60 kinds of fruit trees. Every spring and February, the flowers will continue. Blooming. Longing for the boundless flower sea, I finally went to the weekend without rain. On the first day, you can wear summer clothes. But the flowers are sparse and farther apart than we think. The apricot flower is full of screens, the peach blossoms are sparse and pitiful, the most lovely is the orange forest, and the fruits of the land are super-children. Because Fresno is driving for three hours from my village, I simply stayed there for one night before going home. The next day, it suddenly changed from summer to winter, and the rainy morning was even colder. The apricot flower forest was blown down by the rain, so the secret base we found became a winter world. Super super beautiful, from time to time a gust of wind will blow the petals snow. Although the apricot flower does not have the pink color of the cherry blossoms, there is no one in the flower garden here! We took more than a thousand films and laughed as if we were crazy. I went to the Blossom Trial twice, and the car opened for ten or twenty minutes. After I came to see the map, I found that I didn't even spend 1/10 of the Huahualin. It was really a big area.
