Plan ahead for April-May as they won last for the year Secondly, it is important to rent a car if you want to move around the country as even public transportation is greener, but could be even more expensive than renting a car. Also, something I like is that Netherlands is pushing forward an extremely increasing electric vehicles industry so most of the rental places, are already renting you hybrid cars which for example I just use it to move around around the country for three days and just spent $10 in a few, which is a great saving as well and if you book it from the main airport in Amsterdam, you might be able to have cheap prices starting from €15 per day of rent; Thirdly, if planning to do one of the “mainstream” experiences in Netherlands either you can refer to #coffeeshop or #Smartshop depending on what you’re looking for and always follow their safety tips you’re given if you have also any questions concerning the topic, you can feel free to send me a comment and I will be able to help you. The annual Flower Parade Bollenstreek is a big-scale 1 day parade where the participants and the Flower Parade floats travel around 42.5km from Noordwijk to Haarlem. The floats will arrive at night and will be on display the next day at Haarlem city centre till the next day's evening. The floats were very well-made from flowers, and they were all so pretty 😍. You can see all the floats up close and take pictures with your favorite floats. Do come earlier in the morning as there will be more people coming from other parts of the Netherlands in the late morning/afternoon, and you might not be able to enjoy as much.

We took an intercity train from Amsterdam Centraal, and in just about 20 minutes, the atmosphere completely changed 🚆 Compared to Amsterdam’s constant energy, Haarlem felt calmer, quieter, and much easier to wander without a plan. One of the first highlights was seeing the Grote of St. Bavokerk ⛪ Standing in the middle of the historic square, surrounded by beautiful old buildings, made the city feel timeless. The entire area had a relaxed charm that immediately slowed the pace of the day. From there, we wandered through Bakenes and the Binnenstad, simply enjoying Haarlem’s quieter streets and historic character. Every turn seemed to reveal charming alleyways, old architecture, and hidden corners that made the city feel incredibly welcoming. One of the most peaceful parts of the day was walking along the canals 🌿 Watching boats slowly pass beneath the bridges while locals went about their day made Haarlem feel effortlessly beautiful, calm, scenic, and refreshingly slower than Amsterdam. We also stopped by Nieuwe Gracht for photos 📸 The canal lined with historic buildings and reflections on the water felt especially picturesque, and it quickly became one of those places where you naturally slow down just to take it all in. We later made our way to Windmill De Adriaan 🌬️ Unfortunately, it was under renovation during our visit, with scaffolding covering much of the windmill. Although we couldn’t fully enjoy the iconic view, it still felt special seeing such a historic landmark up close. Just a 15-minute train ride from Amsterdam, Netherlands. You'll arrive in an incredibly charming town. Haarlem is the perfect place for a leisurely stroll.
