So lucky! The day before bringing the kids to Enshi, we just caught the news that Pingshan Grand Canyon would reopen on March 26 after being closed for maintenance for several months. We finally caught the first wave of reopening benefits! We arrived in Enshi at 10 a.m., checked into the hotel, picked up the car, and drove 2 hours straight to the scenic area. There was very little traffic on the highway, the road conditions were excellent, and traveling with kids was completely hassle-free. First, we bought the 45 yuan boat ticket plus a 10 yuan shuttle bus ticket at the ticket area. Important tip! During peak season, you must buy boat tickets before 9 a.m. to enter, or you might miss out and waste a trip. After buying tickets, park the car in the parking lot and transfer to the shuttle bus to enter the park. This part of the road has many turns, so remind the driver to drive slowly when traveling with kids. Entering the park requires climbing five to six hundred steps. Along the way, you’ll pass the very popular Bixin Cliff. We took photos there on the way back to avoid the crowds, making it easier to take pictures with the kids. We entered the park around 2 p.m. when there were very few people, and we had a private boat for four into the canyon. The scenery was so beautiful that the kids screamed with excitement the whole time! On a sunny day, the light and shadow effects are even more stunning, perfect for photos. There are staff members at every point in the scenic area to guide you, so there’s no fear of getting lost. The boat route is flat except for the steps at the entrance and exit, so pushing a stroller is no problem. You can leisurely explore the area in about 3 hours with plenty of stops and photo ops, making for a very relaxed pace. If your kids can’t handle the Enshi Grand Canyon, this is the place to choose! It’s easy on both parents and kids, and you can immerse yourself in the breathtaking scenery of “China’s Semporna.” Families with good stamina can also choose to walk into the park and take the boat out.
