#uniquehomestay Far from the noise of the world, hidden in the wild, untouched beauty of Iceland, we found a place that felt less like a hotel and more like a dream—Panorama Glass Lodge. It didn’t look like much at first glance. A small, quiet cabin standing alone in the vast landscape. But step inside, and suddenly, everything changes. The entire lodge seemed built around one extraordinary idea—to bring the sky to you. Our bed sat beneath a glass ceiling, with walls that opened out to the endless Icelandic wilderness. It felt as though we weren’t just looking at nature—we were part of it. That first night, we lay side by side, waiting. And then, as if the world had decided to reward our patience, the sky came alive. The Northern Lights danced above us—soft, shifting ribbons of green—and we watched it all without ever leaving the warmth of our bed. It was quiet, surreal, and almost impossible to believe. The lodge itself is intimate—designed for just two people—which made everything feel more personal. A small kitchen, a cozy dining space, and a beautifully simple bathroom meant we had everything we needed, yet nothing felt excessive. But perhaps the most magical moments happened outside. Wrapped in the cold air, we slipped into the private hot tub, steam rising around us while snow and stars shared the same sky. It felt like time slowed down, leaving just the two of us in a world that had gone wonderfully still. Of course, it’s not for everyone. The lodge is small, remote, and completely immersed in nature. But that’s exactly its charm. Because this isn’t just a place you visit. It’s a place you feel—quietly, deeply—and long after you leave, it stays with you, like a memory written in the stars. #holiday #travel2026 #travel #couplestrip #staycation #naturalwonders #thingstodo #iceland #panoramaglasslodge #aurora #northpole

The natural wonders of Iceland really made me feel like I was on another planet~ This transparent bubble house is located on a meadow in Hella, Iceland, surrounded by nothing but wilderness. The one I booked had a private bathroom and shower with plenty of hot water. It claimed to offer views of the Northern Lights, but unfortunately, the weather was bad that day, so I didn't see them. However, the bubble is made of plastic and is somewhat reflective, so I'm not sure how clear the view would be. But the price was reasonable, around 2000 HKD, and I booked it just a week before departure. The sunrise should be beautiful if the weather is good~ 📍 @auroraigloo

ICELAND 8 DAYS 7 NIGHTS · OCTOBER 🇮🇸 Day 1 — Reykjavík 🌋 Day 2 — Golden Circle 🌊 Day 3 — South Coast 🧊 Day 4 — Glacier Lagoon 🏔️ Day 5 — Eastfjords 🌋 Day 6 — North Iceland 🌌 Day 7 — West Iceland + Northern Lights ✈️ Day 8 — Reykjavík → Home 🌌 บางทีแค่ได้ยืนกลางความมืด เงยหน้าขึ้นมองท้องฟ้า แล้วเห็นแสงสีเขียวค่อย ๆ เคลื่อนตัวเหนือภูเขา ก็อาจกลายเป็นภาพที่จำทริปนี้ไปอีกนานเลยครับ 💚 #Iceland #IcelandTravel #IcelandRoadTrip #VisitIceland #IcelandOctober #Reykjavik #GoldenCircle #SouthIceland #DiamondBeach Ever wondered what it’s like to explore Iceland’s oldest archaeological secrets? The Caves of Hella are calling your name! These epic man-made sandstone caves—yup, there are 12 of them—are located on the land of Ægissíða, right near the chill village of Hella in South Iceland (address: Ægissíða 4, 851 Hella, Iceland). What makes them sooo cool? Well, some theories say these underground chambers actually predate the Vikings and might’ve been carved out by Celtic monks (hello, ancient mystery vibes 😱) way back in the early-to-mid 9th century. The best part: Four of these cryptic chambers are open for you to explore, but only with a guided tour, keeping the experience totally exclusive and safe! Tours usually run daily but hours might shift with the season, so it’s 🔑 to check the latest slots when booking via trip.com. Whether you’re a history nerd, an Indiana Jones wannabe, or just want a wild story for your Insta feed, the Caves of Hella are straight-up fascinating. Pro tip: Bring a jacket—things get chilly underground, even in summer! Ready to roam Iceland’s real-life mystery tunnels? Introduction No color correction at all! The water at Bruarfoss is so blue it looks like someone poured a whole bottle of Tiffany blue paint into the river. The glacier meltwater creates a gem-like color that you won’t forget at first sight. 🚗Travel tips Search “Bruarfoss Parking” for navigation. Don’t just search “Bruarfoss” or you’ll be directed to a private residence! It’s about a 1.5-hour drive from Reykjavik. The last stretch is a dirt road, so drive slowly. Parking costs 750 ISK for a car (about €5), payable via the Parka app. It’s a 5-minute walk from the parking lot to the main waterfall. 🗺️Complete daily loop itinerary Day 1: Reykjavik → Golden Circle Þingvellir National Park → Geysir geyser (erupts every 5 minutes) → Gullfoss waterfall → Bruarfoss → stay in Selfoss Day 2: South coast Seljalandsfoss waterfall (you can walk behind it) → Skógafoss waterfall → black sand beach (never turn your back to the waves!) → stay in Vík Day 3: Glacier lagoon Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon → Diamond Beach → stay in Höfn Day 4–5: East + North East fjords → Mývatn → Goðafoss waterfall → stay in Akureyri Day 6–7: West + Reykjavik Snæfellsnes Peninsula → return to Reykjavik 🏠Recommended accommodations by area + booking tips Book at least 2 months in advance during peak season! Choose guesthouses with kitchens to save half on food costs by cooking yourself. · Reykjavik: Center Hotels Arnarhvoll, great location · Selfoss/Golden Circle: Hotel Ranga, offers northern lights wake-up calls · Vík: Black Beach Suites, 5 minutes from the black sand beach · Höfn: fishing town, don’t miss the lobster soup 💰Three budget levels (7 days per person, excluding airfare) · Budget: 17,000 CNY. Hostels + self-cooking + 2WD car · Mid-range: 25,000 CNY. Guesthouses + occasional dining out + comfortable SUV · Luxury: 35,000 CNY. Hotels + restaurants + 4WD car 🍽️Local food prices + tips to avoid pitfalls Iceland has the highest prices in Europe. Restaurant meals cost 250–400 CNY per person. Tip: don’t eat at tourist spots! Buy groceries at Bónus (the pink pig supermarket) and cook yourself for about 80 CNY per meal. Hot dogs cost about 45 CNY, beer about 90 CNY. 📸Free and paid attractions + best photo spots Bruarfoss is free! Only parking fees apply. Best photo spot: stand in the middle of the wooden bridge for a stunning layered water effect. There’s a small path on the right side of the bridge to get underneath and shoot the waterfall head-on. Wear a red or yellow raincoat for a striking contrast with the blue water. The bluer the sunlight, the more vivid the blue. 👗Money-saving outfit tips Waterproof shell jacket + waterproof hiking boots are a must! The waterfall spray is heavy and the ground is muddy. Layer your clothes: short sleeve + long sleeve + windbreaker. Save money by bringing disposable underwear if you don’t have time to wash. Crampons are essential in winter because the bridge can get icy. Heartfelt summary Bruarfoss was the most stunning place on my Iceland trip, bar none. That blue isn’t from a filter—it’s the result of thousands of years of love between glaciers and volcanic rock. You can miss many things in Iceland, but don’t miss this. 🩵

1. Brúarfoss Often called “Iceland’s Bluest Waterfall,” Brúarfoss is famous for its striking turquoise water, created by exceptionally clear glacial spring water. Although not the largest waterfall in Iceland, its vivid blue color makes it one of the country’s most photogenic hidden gems. The waterfall is just a short walk from the main parking area. 2. Gullfoss One of Iceland’s most iconic waterfalls and a highlight of the Golden Circle. Gullfoss plunges dramatically in two stages into the Hvítá Canyon, creating a spectacular display of raw natural power. 3. Háifoss Standing at 122 meters (400 ft), Háifoss is one of the tallest waterfalls in Iceland. It drops into a breathtaking canyon beside the neighboring Granni Waterfall, offering one of the country’s most spectacular viewpoints. The final stretch of road is gravel, making it feel like a true hidden gem. 4. Ægissíðufoss Located near the town of Hella, Ægissíðufoss is a wide and peaceful waterfall flowing across the Ytri-Rangá River. Less crowded than Iceland’s famous waterfalls, it offers beautiful scenery and, on clear days, impressive views of Mount Hekla in the distance. 5. Seljalandsfoss & Gljúfrabúi Seljalandsfoss is one of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls, known for the unique path that allows visitors to walk behind the cascading water. Park at Seljalandsfoss, then walk just a few minutes north to discover Gljúfrabúi, a hidden waterfall tucked inside a narrow canyon. Be prepared to get a little wet while entering this magical spot. 6. Skógafoss With a height of 60 meters (197 ft), Skógafoss is one of Iceland’s most impressive waterfalls. On sunny days, rainbows frequently appear in the mist. Visitors can climb the staircase beside the falls for panoramic views or begin the famous Fimmvörðuháls hiking trail from the top. 7. Kvernufoss Located just behind the Skógar Museum, Kvernufoss is one of Iceland’s quieter hidden gems. A scenic 15–20 minute walk through a peaceful valley leads to this beautiful waterfall, where visitors can also walk behind the falls for a unique perspective. I really love this waterfall. It is beyond my expectation. 8. Hengifoss At 128 meters (420 ft), Hengifoss is one of Iceland’s tallest waterfalls. It is especially famous for the striking red clay layers between ancient basalt cliffs, revealing millions of years of volcanic and geological history. Reaching the waterfall requires a rewarding uphill hike. 9. Vestdalsfossar Hidden within the beautiful Vestdalur Valley near Seyðisfjörður, Vestdalsfossar is a series of waterfalls reached by a scenic hiking trail. The route passes rivers, mountains, and dramatic fjord landscapes, making the hike just as memorable as the waterfalls themselves. 10. Dettifoss Often described as one of Europe’s most powerful waterfalls, Dettifoss is an unforgettable display of nature’s force. Fed by the glacial river Jökulsá á Fjöllum, its enormous volume and thunderous roar have made it one of Iceland’s most famous natural attractions and a filming location for the movie Prometheus. 11. Goðafoss Known as the “Waterfall of the Gods,” Goðafoss is one of Iceland’s most historically significant waterfalls. According to legend, statues of the Norse gods were thrown into the falls around the year 1000 AD, when Iceland officially embraced Christianity. Today, its graceful horseshoe shape makes it one of the country’s most beautiful and photographed waterfalls. #waterfall #iceland #icelandtravel

Travel is less about sightseeing and more about recalibrating your lifestyle. I've tucked myself away in a ceilingless corner, letting the days flow gently by like a stream. Here, "slow living" isn't just a buzzword; it's as instinctive as breathing. I'll happily spend an entire afternoon waiting for a pot of soup to simmer down to its richest flavor, watching as time and heat transform ordinary ingredients into a soul-healing delicacy. This is the true essence of gentle self-care—not relying on expensive health supplements, but using patience and love to nourish a parched heart. Right now, life is clearly split in two. One half is the grounded triviality of daily necessities: the busy silhouette by the stove, the comforting aroma of a home-cooked meal—the earthy, worldly warmth that roots us. The other half is the starry night sky above, the symphony of chirping insects, and an undisturbed inner peace—the poetic serenity we gaze up at. In the intertwining of these two halves, I've found a long-lost sense of ease. It turns out that a quiet, beautiful life is simply about finding peace within, allowing the soul to rediscover freedom and tranquility through the nourishment of both worldly warmth and poetic serenity.

March 7, 2024 Iceland 🇮🇸 Round-the-Island Trip Day 2: The Awe and Gentleness of the Classic Golden Circle On the second day of our round-the-island trip, we officially began our classic "Golden Circle" journey. Each stop allowed us to deeply feel the primal power of nature. 📍 Golden Circle Highlights: · Bruarfoss Waterfall: Although the journey was a bit challenging, the pure Tiffany blue was absolutely worth it! · Geysir Geyser: Watching Strokkur erupt with its accumulated energy is truly breathtaking. · Gullfoss Waterfall: The massive, cascading waterfall is awe-inspiring, its mist filling the air. · Secret Lagoon: As Iceland's oldest hot spring, soaking in its warm water amidst the cold wind is the ultimate treat of the trip. By the way! A bowl of warm Icelandic lamb stew is an absolute must-try here; it's a lifesaver in the chilly wind. We were also lucky enough to encounter incredibly cute Icelandic horses with their flowing manes; their curiosity and gentleness were truly heartwarming. Although the wind was still strong, the colors of this land were already captivating us. 🏨 Accommodation Recommendation: Hotel Kanslarinn Hella (Approximately NT$3655/night, breakfast included. This hotel has a great location, a varied breakfast, and is a fantastic rest stop on our road trip around the island!) #GlobalTravel #IcelandRoadTrip #GoldenCircle #Geysers #Gulfsfoss #SecretHotSprings #IcelandicLambStew #IcelandHorses #IcelandAccommodation #RoadTrip

Some caves even have symbols and crosses carved into the walls, adding to their mystery and spiritual feel. Visiting the Caves of Hella feels like stepping back in time, deep into Iceland’s hidden history beneath the earth.

Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach Guide in Iceland|The Collision of Volcano and Ocean, This Black Sand Is Unbelievably Beautiful If you have seen white sand beaches or golden sand beaches, Iceland’s Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach will definitely overturn your imagination of a "beach"—the jet-black sand grains formed from volcanic ash, colliding with the blue-gray basalt columns and rolling emerald waves, create an ultimate wild beauty. Every snapshot feels like the "end of the world." As one of National Geographic’s "Top 10 Most Beautiful Beaches in the World," this place was also a filming location for Game of Thrones, making it absolutely worth a special trip. 🌋 Must-Visit Highlights: The 3 “Magical Moments” of the Black Sand Beach 1. Walking on the "Traces of Volcanoes" The sand grains on the black sand beach come from basalt formed by nearby volcanic eruptions, worn down into fine sand by millions of years of ocean waves. It feels silky smooth underfoot but carries the ruggedness of volcanoes. When walking barefoot, remember to get up quickly—the sand heats up fast and can be very hot at noon in summer! ✨ Fun Fact: The black sand acts as a "natural camouflage," so seabirds resting on the sand in the distance are almost invisible unless you look closely. 2. Basalt Columns: Nature’s "Organ Pipes" Next to the beach stand rows of hexagonal basalt columns, arranged like carefully placed organ pipes, reaching up to 12 meters high. This geological wonder was formed by the contraction of cooling volcanic lava. The "North" scenes in Game of Thrones were filmed here. Standing beneath the columns and looking up, you’ll be speechlessly amazed by nature’s craftsmanship. 3. Reynisdrangar Rock Arch: A Wave-Carved Masterpiece At the end of the beach, Reynisdrangar consists of two sea stacks with a natural arch between them. At high tide, emerald waves crash against the rocks, splashing white foam that contrasts sharply with the black sand and gray columns. At sunrise or sunset, sunlight gilds the rocks, making every photo wallpaper-worthy. ⚠️ Warning: The waves are extremely powerful, and some visitors have been swept away. Always stay in safe areas (away from warning lines)! 🚗 Practical Guide: What to Know Before Visiting the Black Sand Beach · Best Travel Time ◦ Summer (June to August): Up to 20 hours of daylight, perfect for photography and hiking, temperatures 5-15°C, but windy—wear a windbreaker; ◦ Winter (November to March): You might catch the Northern Lights (the contrast of black sand and green light is stunning), but dress warmly (-5 to 5°C), and some roads may be icy. · Transportation The black sand beach is near the town of Vík í Mýrdal on Iceland’s south coast, about a 2.5-hour drive from Reykjavik. Self-driving is recommended (a must-stop on the classic South Coast route): ◦ Self-drive: Take Route 1 from Reykjavik, navigate to "Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach," with road signs along the way; parking is free; ◦ Group tours: If not driving, join a "South Coast Day Tour" (including Black Sand Beach, Seljalandsfoss, Skógafoss), costing about 1500-2000 CNY per person, hassle-free. · Suggested Visit Duration: 3-4 hours (including photos and light hiking), can be combined with lunch in Vík. · Admission: Free! But follow the rules (do not take black sand or climb basalt columns). 📸 Photo Tips: Every Shot Looks Like a Movie Poster 1. Best Shooting Time: One hour after sunrise or one hour before sunset for soft light that captures the texture of black sand and the layers of waves; in winter, if the Northern Lights appear, 10 PM to 2 AM is peak time (weather permitting). 2. Angle Tips: ◦ Low angle: Crouch on the sand with waves in the foreground to capture the full view of basalt columns, emphasizing the "giant organ pipes" sense of scale; ◦ Upward shot: Stand under the columns and shoot upward to capture the intertwining of columns and sky, like stepping into another world; ◦ Long exposure: Use a tripod and slow shutter (1-3 seconds) to make waves look like a "milk waterfall," contrasting softness with the hard black sand. 3. Outfit Suggestions: Wear bright colors like red or white (strong contrast with black sand), avoid dark colors; a windbreaker is essential (the seaside wind can blow hats away). 🌍 Nearby Attractions: Explore Iceland’s South Coast in One Day The black sand beach is on Iceland’s golden South Coast tourist route. It’s recommended to link these spots for a full day: · Vík Town: 5 minutes by car from the black sand beach, try the famous lobster soup at "Sudur-Vik" restaurant (paired with Icelandic black bread, amazing); · Dyrhólaey Peninsula: 10 minutes drive from Vík, 15-minute hike to the cliff viewpoint overlooking the black sand beach, puffins can be seen in summer; · Seljalandsfoss: The "water curtain waterfall" you can walk behind, about 1 hour from the black sand beach; · Skógafoss: One of Iceland’s largest waterfalls, often with rainbows in front, climb stairs to the top for a panoramic view. 🏨 Accommodation Recommendations: Stay in Vík for Convenience · Hotel Ranga: 20 minutes from Vík, a countryside hotel with hot springs, perfect for soaking and watching the Northern Lights in winter; · Vik I Myrdal Hotel: Located in Vík town center, 5-minute walk to the black sand beach, rooms with sea views, includes breakfast (Icelandic yogurt is delicious); · Kirkjubaer Guesthouse: Family-run guesthouse offering traditional Icelandic meals (lamb soup, baked cod), the owner shares legends of the black sand beach. ⚠️ Important Notes 1. Safety First: The waves at the black sand beach are "invisible killers," seemingly calm but can suddenly surge several meters high. Always stay away from the water and obey "Stay Back" warnings; 2. Environmental Protection: The black sand is a natural protected resource, strictly prohibited to take away (customs may check, fines up to 100,000 Icelandic króna); 3. Weather Changes Quickly: Iceland’s weather is unpredictable. Even in summer, bring windproof and waterproof jackets and non-slip shoes (black sand is slippery when wet); 4. Signal Issues: Vík town has signal, but some areas of the black sand beach do not. Download offline maps in advance. The beauty of Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach is a collision of roughness and gentleness—the "black" of volcanoes, the "white" of waves, and the "gray" of rocks weave a natural poem in Iceland’s wilderness. If you come to Iceland, be sure to spend half a day here to feel the freedom and awe of the "end of the world."
