2026 Ifuru Travel Guide: must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transport & travel experiences (updated in February)

We were left with the most delightful impressions after our stay here. My husband gave us the gift of a honeymoon trip following our wedding in Moscow. I hardly know where to begin—I've never encountered such exceptional service anywhere before. At the Male airport, we were greeted by a hotel staff member. Even though we were delayed, they patiently waited for us and welcomed us with a warm smile. Everything was managed seamlessly, with information smoothly passed along from one person to another about where we were and where we needed to be within hours. We arrived early in the morning, with a seaplane scheduled to depart for Ifuru Island at 12:00. Despite the official check-in time being 14:00, the resort staff went above and beyond to get us there by 10:00. At the reception desk, we met a kind and understanding employee named Jeeko. He explained all the facilities on the island, where to enjoy great food, and how to make the most of our time. Seeing how exhausted we were, Jeeko arranged for us to check in early and even organized a breakfast for us—without asking for any extra charge. Throughout our stay, this remarkable staff member stayed with us, offering support. Even on our wedding ceremony day, he was there for us. At the scheduled time, he picked us up and brought us to the arch where the Imam, photographer, and another member of Jeeko's team awaited. During the photoshoot, my veil fell off, so we decided to skip it entirely. Throughout the ceremony, Jeeko held it in his hands. Afterward, he escorted us back to our room and suggested we enjoy dinner at a restaurant that evening. Within moments, he had reserved a table for 19:00, promising that everything would be ready. When we arrived at the restaurant, we discovered a beautifully decorated table with flowers, seashells, and "Mr. and Mrs." signs in honor of our special day. The food was fresh, perfectly prepared, and served promptly. Smiling and courteous waiters not only helped us choose dishes but also warmly checked in after each course to ensure we were happy. One touching detail: while we dined, the resort staff decorated our room with flowers, creating a stunning design with island plants. It was such a lovely surprise, showcasing their amazing attention to detail. The resort's service was impeccably structured, as if everything worked on a perfectly timed schedule. Daily housekeeping included fresh linens, towels, clean water bottles, and washing the dishes in the room. Every morning, the grounds were spotless, and the beach immaculate—no sign of even a single leaf. On days when we missed the main meals in the resort's shared kitchen, the staff readily accommodated us. The spa treatments also deserve praise—the massage therapists were true experts in their field. We left feeling completely rejuvenated, both body and soul. Special thanks go to Jeeko, who truly made our experience unforgettable. From start to finish, he treated us like longtime friends, even seeing us off at the end of our journey. Despite our limited English, he made communicating easy and comfortable, always finding creative ways to help. A day before we left, he handed us an envelope with a detailed plan—departure times for the boat and seaplane, as well as a schedule for when he’d pick us up. His reliability, punctuality, and attentiveness are unmatched. We also learned he was a former surf coach, further highlighting his diverse talents. Jeeko’s dedication to his work and his incredible attention to detail made this an extraordinary trip. He’s a true professional in every sense!

As a busy family of four from Australia, we were searching for a relaxing vacation in a stunning location that offered great value. This is exactly what we experienced. From the moment we left the baggage claim at Male airport, an island representative greeted us and smoothly guided us to the seaplane transfer. Everything was effortless. The island itself is breathtaking, with a beautiful beach (where crabs come out at night), spacious rooms, tasty food, and exceptional staff. On wetter days, the kids were happily entertained in the games room, while the pool and restaurant areas had everything we needed—including plenty of pizza and ice cream for the kids. There were great drinks for adults too; I only wish I’d discovered the coffee bomb sooner! Although some days were rainy and windy, limiting our time for water sports and snorkeling, the house reef at the secret spot provided more than enough underwater adventure for us. It was truly a memorable week, with special thanks to Sandesh, Ari, Julie, and our buddy Monica. Thank you all for making our stay incredible!

My second time at Ifuru Resort, and what can I say? Breathtaking views, elegant accommodations, outstanding service, and mouthwatering cuisine! Although June's weather wasn't ideal and the sea was choppy, we still managed to sunbathe and snorkel with turtles daily. The dining experiences were consistently a highlight—dining at the Waterfront restaurant had an incredible ambiance. Chef Lamoth and Chef Valentine delighted us with surprises every day! The waitstaff were incredibly friendly and attentive, providing warm, genuine service without fail. Barman Chamil crafted stunning and delicious mocktails. Our island host, Indri, was phenomenal! Always so thoughtful, she truly cared about making every guest happy. The Ifuru roomboys were exceptional—so talented and creative. Our room was spotless, and the bed and bath decorations were fabulous! One night we even got to witness a bed decoration competition...an absolute WOW moment! I also indulged in a few massages at the Xanadu Spa. While there wasn't a sea view there, the service was very good, the massage deeply relaxing, and the therapists were extremely skilled. On the downside, the airport service fell short of my expectations—the Ifuru representative at arrival didn't impress me. However, the departure service was smooth and efficient. A big thanks to Ms. Shifu for her help with reservations, and much gratitude to Mr. Takeshi and Mr. Marcel for their excellent care. Thank you, Ifuru, for creating such a luxurious and unforgettable getaway!

From beginning to end, everything was absolutely incredible. The resort is stunning, spotless, and well-maintained. The staff is exceptionally friendly. We had the pleasure of being assisted by Jeeko, who truly made our stay special. He was attentive, always accessible, and communicated effectively, always ready to help. Mewan from housekeeping was outstanding as well, showing great care and pride in his work. The pool area was fantastic, and the food was phenomenal. The chefs went above and beyond, tending to your every need as if you were the only guest there, especially at the Social Club. Jeeko, Mewan, and the team at the waterfront restaurant made my birthday unforgettable—they were simply amazing. A big shoutout also goes to the beach club staff, particularly Mylo and Danaa, the kayaking team, and the wonderfully hospitable Pizza Hut crew who went out of their way for my kids. Lastly, a heartfelt thanks to Queenie, Sumit, Patrick, Ida, Jada, Aazaan, and everyone else who contributed to making our stay unforgettable. Thank you for the incredible memories!
