2026 Illetas Travel Guide: must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transport & travel experiences (updated in July)

We just returned from a short stay at this hotel. I traveled with my teenage daughter, and we both found the hotel to be excellent. The breakfast was fantastic, and we loved our room on the 7th floor, the pools, and the friendly staff. However, for good coffee, you’ll need to wait until the pool bar opens at 10 am. Though we arrived before our room was ready, we were warmly welcomed with a bottle of water and pool towels. We enjoyed a delicious lunch at the hotel restaurant and spent the afternoon sunbathing by the top pool, sipping cocktails. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of two stunning beaches, Cala Comtessa and Illetas. We visited both and loved them. There's a bus to Palma right outside the hotel for €2, and taking a taxi back costs about €20. Overall, this hotel offers excellent value for its price, and we hope to return next year.

I had a wonderful week celebrating my 60th birthday. The hotel lived up to its excellent reputation, even offering Cava for my special day. From our balcony, we enjoyed a stunning view of the bay of Palma, watching ships entering and leaving the port. Guest services were incredibly helpful in assisting with bus route planning to and around Palma, which was much appreciated as it wasn’t very straightforward. Next time, we’d likely book half board since many local restaurants were closing during that season.

Spent a few days here with my teenage son and had a fabulous time. The staff were attentive and friendly, the room was spotless with a great view. The poolside restaurant was really good, and breakfast had everything you could want, done really well. Will definitely rebook for next year.

This is a very traditional hotel set in a beautiful, quiet location. It's definitely worth upgrading to a junior suite. The food in the main dining room is exceptional, and the staff are absolutely top-notch—I loved the experience of being served. However, I do wish there had been some Spanish entertainment. The pool by the beach area was fantastic and impeccably maintained by Figo. Overall, this hotel stands out for its tranquility, uniqueness, and the exceptional efforts of the staff and family, making it a true 5-star experience.

We had an absolutely fantastic mother-daughter stay at ROC Illetas and can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel! The location is simply outstanding: situated directly by the sea, the hotel is beautifully tiered, offering stunning ocean views from almost everywhere. We especially loved the wonderful, separate access to the water – truly something special. Another highlight was the excellent breakfast. The wide selection left nothing to be desired, and starting each morning on the terrace with direct sea views was a beautiful experience. The outstanding service is also worth mentioning. Every staff member was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and always helpful. Our requests were promptly addressed – even when I wanted to switch to a flatter pillow, I was assisted quickly and courteously. From the moment you arrive, you're warmly welcomed and just as kindly bid farewell. The room service was also excellent, adding to our overall sense of comfort and well-being. A big thank you to the entire team for making our stay so wonderful – we’ll gladly return!

We absolutely loved our stay! The team was great and super friendly. The rooms were lovely, and the shower was fantastic. Valentina is such an amazing asset, welcoming us to the outdoor areas and pools and giving us a tour. Breakfast was incredible with so much variety—and here's a tip: there's Cava, and yes, you can help yourself! Definitely yes to that! We also enjoyed walking along the rocky outcrops, where you can jump or use ladders for a swim in the sea. Brilliant experience. We'll definitely return. J&L

Our stay at Barceló Illetas Albatros - Adults Only was simply incredible. The hotel is perfectly situated right by the sea, offering breathtaking views that bring a sense of peace from the first moment. Waking up to the sight of the Mediterranean and having breakfast by the water is an experience that’s hard to beat. The facilities are well-maintained, with a sophisticated, modern, and serene ambiance. The gym truly impressed us—fully equipped, spotless, and ideal for keeping up with workouts even on vacation. The pool area is on another level, featuring stunning views and a calm atmosphere perfect for unwinding. On top of all that, the staff was extremely friendly and attentive throughout our stay, making us feel welcome from day one. This hotel is undoubtedly perfect for both relaxing and exploring Palma and its surroundings. We wouldn’t hesitate to return. Highly recommended for those seeking tranquility, incredible views, and an experience designed with care.

The Bon Sol is a proud, family-run hotel, and what better way to start a stay than being welcomed by the family patriarch himself—smartly dressed, courteous, and, despite his senior years, personally taking our luggage and guiding us to reception. What a warm and memorable welcome. This hotel is a true retreat, offering a mix of exceptional staff, delicious food, stunning traditional interiors, and lush, shady grounds with pools and sunny spots. It’s not a place for those who want to hold loud video chats with friends in public; the absence of message pings was actually refreshing. The guests were mostly older couples, but not exclusively so—families with newborns and toddlers were also enjoying a peaceful escape. The hotel is uniquely perched on a descending coastal landscape, built across multiple levels. A fun feature is the use of lifts and underground tunnels to explore the grounds.

A great beach for the whole family. Keep in mind, it gets busy starting in the morning. Arrive early if you want to secure a spot for your towel. The small coffee bar at the top is also nice and cozy, offering coffee, drinks, and sandwiches.

We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment, which was spacious with a large balcony offering a stunning sea view. The beds were very comfortable, and the atmosphere was peaceful and quiet. We've stayed here multiple times and absolutely love it. The hotel has so much character; it's not just a concrete block but a charming place with beautiful grounds and an incredible view. Breakfasts are delicious, and starting your day eating outside while overlooking the sea is truly wonderful. We opted for half-board, and the food was great. You can choose to dine either indoors or outdoors. The staff are excellent, with special thanks to Mery for her kindness, friendly smile, and exceptional service. Thanks also to Linda for her warm welcome and assistance, as well as the entire hardworking team who ensure a delightful stay. The Number 4 bus conveniently stops right outside the hotel, making it a quick trip into Palma. It's only 20 minutes from the airport. Highly recommend this place, and I already plan to return this October!

Very sincerely, I have rarely been welcomed so warmly! The hotel is simply stunning, featuring an incredible seaside view that makes the stay even more special. We received a warm welcome from the incredibly pleasant and helpful staff. The location is impeccable with a wonderful sea view. Our room was perfect, and the housekeeping was excellent. Every staff member, whether at reception, in the restaurant, or from housekeeping, was extremely friendly. The only minor issue was the view of the containers and dumpsters from the balcony of room 701; perhaps adding a roof could improve this. Despite that, we rate our stay 10/10. Quick check-in service, attentive staff, spacious and well-equipped rooms, and cleanliness stood out. The option for hotel parking was convenient, and the location was excellent. Very peaceful environment. The food was varied and delicious. Despite visiting during the off-season, the views from the restaurant and pool were absolutely stunning.

I stayed last August with a girlfriend and have just booked two more long weekends this summer, again with girlfriends. I found it to be an excellent hotel for a trip with a friend, and we had a great time last year. The hotel is clean, the rooms are fairly new, and the breakfast offered good variety with delicious options, including Cava, which is always a highlight in Spanish hotels! The front terrace overlooking the pool is a lovely spot for breakfast. Arriving early, around 8:30, we always managed to grab prime seating every morning. The pool and loungers were fantastic, exactly what you’d hope for. We also enjoyed delicious afternoon (or lunchtime!) cocktails by the pool. The location is outstanding; we took the bus into Palma most evenings and had a lot of fun on those rides, even making friends with some locals! While Palma is an amazing city, I liked staying a bit farther out to be closer to beaches. One night, we visited Portals Nous and dined at Eat Sicily, which I highly recommend. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful—thanks to the whole team! I’m excited to return in June with my sister and again in August with my friend!

We found ourselves returning to this hotel, and the service is always outstanding in every respect. Special mention to Marta Pablo, Esther, Claudia, Aurora, Lianka, Xus, Jose, Diego, David, and the massage therapist from various areas of the hotel. All of them made our stay fabulous.

The hotel is marvelous, offering incredible views from both the rooms and the restaurant. Breakfast is outstanding, with a wide variety and a very peaceful atmosphere. The staff is extremely friendly and kind, with special mention to Vera and Xisco at the reception and the dining room staff, who were all very pleasant. Without a doubt, this is a hotel we will return to and gladly recommend.

Overall, very beautiful, adults only. Friendly staff. I stayed at this hotel for a training session, and the training location was amazing! Glass fronts and rooftop terrace. The buffet selection was great in general, but as someone who follows a vegan diet, it felt a bit lacking. Allergens were not reliably listed, and the options with vegetables or without meat/fish/cheese were quite limited.

During my multi-day stay at the hotel and use of the spacious meeting room with a rooftop terrace, I had the chance to experience both the service and the rooms. The meeting room features a large, directly accessible rooftop terrace, providing a fantastic atmosphere and ample space for small team workshops. The rooms come in various sizes and with appealing, modern amenities. The staff, whether at the reception or in the restaurant, were always exceptionally friendly and focused on customer satisfaction.

Spectacular and 100% recommendable hotel. From its impressive location to its carefully maintained rooms equipped with all amenities and impeccably clean, everything is exceptional. The breakfast buffet is delicious and offers plenty of variety. The hotel was fantastic. The staff was very professional while also being cheerful and approachable. The swimming pools and spa were beautiful. Its location was convenient, with multiple supermarkets nearby and a bus stop right in front. The rooms were spacious and equipped with good facilities. A highlight was the mini-golf access (even though it's in the park hotel across the street). The pool bar and buffet offered good quality options, and every morning we enjoyed a delightful breakfast. We’d gladly return!

We think this hotel is fantastic. It’s incredibly relaxing. The outdoor pool area is beautiful, and the sea views are absolutely stunning. Breakfast is excellent, and watching dolphins from the table is a delightful bonus. The À la carte lunch overlooking the sea is superb. Rooms are spotless and very comfortable, with lovely sea views. The guests here are wonderful—a chic, well-mannered crowd, definitely not rowdy. For me, this place is perfect. With two days left, I’m already sad to leave.

We stayed at this hotel many times over the past 30 years when it was a RIU hotel, but this was our first visit under the new management. We were both very impressed by the friendliness that greeted us upon arrival. Our room on the 7th floor offered a fantastic view of the bay. At night, we noticed local fishermen using lights to catch octopus from the cliffs, and during the day, we believe we even saw dolphins. The food was excellent—better than during the RIU era. Traveling to Palma by bus was quick, and taxis were abundant. Although we didn’t use the heated pool, that was our own oversight. We are certain we will return.

My partner and I stayed for two nights and we're leaving completely delighted with both the facilities and the service. Yesterday was my birthday and they surprised me with a beautiful gesture. This property is beautiful, the breakfast is fantastic, and the room was quiet and comfortable. Bravo! The staff is truly outstanding, especially Desiree, who is a gem. I’ve had wonderful conversations with her, discussing the languages she speaks, her business education, and her additional training in managing food allergy prevention. She’s extremely impressive, and I hope the company values her contributions to this resort and the Olivia Hotels brand. Additionally, kudos to Valentin, Diego, Valentina, Eric, Mariia, both Marias at the spa, and the charming blond bartender whose name I unfortunately forgot. They’re all smart, friendly, helpful, and dedicated. Congratulations on assembling such an excellent team!

A beautifully located hotel right by the sea. Unfortunately, it feels a bit outdated, but the rooms are decent with good beds and an outstanding view. Breakfast is excellent, and the half-board dinner offers a great salad and dessert buffet. However, the main courses could be improved. Tip: Focus on offering fewer plated dishes but prepare them with more care and ensure they’re not overcooked. One cook seemed insufficient, though he worked hard to meet all demands. The pool, beach, and bar are very nice, especially the charming pool bar! The massages are top-notch! As mentioned, the staff is truly amazing—super friendly and dedicated. Amazing location with excellent staff attention. The place is elegant, friendly, and relaxing. Everything was extremely well-organized and beautifully decorated, especially the garden and public spaces. The breakfast buffet was very nice, and the outdoor terrace overlooking the sea and garden is absolutely stunning. I truly recommend this hotel.
