🦁 "Visiting the Gir forest in Junagadh was an unforgettable experience. Spotting the majestic Asiatic Lion in his natural habitat is pure luck and absolutely thrilling! The safari was well-managed, and the raw beauty of nature here is unmatched. A must-visit place for every nature and wildlife lover!" 🍀 #lioncity #Junagadh #Gir #Asianlion

The king of the jungle 🦁 is not like any other cat that as even though they are comparatively smaller than their cat family brotherhood tigers 🐯; they are tryly brave and courageous that make them as THE animal of the forest. The first visit of lions, happened to me in Gir national park situated at Gujarat province. The reasons for their presence in that specific place is because fo the natural habitat🌾 and also lions don't migrate often. So lions that were once there, keep protecting their territory and stayed in there. These predators go to the top of the food chain, and no direct threat to them. It was such a sight to behold 🤩 when it was roaring and walking around. #indiatravel #nationalpark#summervacation#hikingtrails

#photovsrealitytravel Girnar, also called Girinagar or Revatak Parvata, is a seriously legendary mountain range in Junagadh, Gujarat, India. This spot absolutely radiates major spiritual energy—no wonder it’s been a pilgrimage hotspot for centuries! Located about 6 km from Junagadh city center (Address: Girnar Hill, Junagadh, Gujarat 362001), Girnar stuns with lush forests, dramatic peaks, and ancient temples scattered all over its slopes. Pro tip: The main trek up Girnar takes you up more than 10,000 steps (yes, seriously!), but the mind-blowing views and peaceful vibes at the top are so worth it! 🥾✨ Along the way, you’ll pass sacred Jain and Hindu temples, each with its own epic legends. The most famous? Ambaji Temple and Dattatreya Temple—total must-sees, open sunrise to sunset daily. If you’re looking for that Indiana Jones-style adventure mixed with soul-searching moments, Girnar is the place. Bring comfy shoes, a refillable water bottle, and get ready to soak in nature, history, and pure mountain magic. P.S. #hellohalloween #travel #familytravel This step well, along with the older Navghan Kuwo, is located inside the Uparkot Fort of Junagadh. When we visited it last month, a bus-load of 'pilgrims' from Rajasthan arrived to visit these two wells as they are sacred to them. Said to be built in the 15th century, Adi Kadi Vav is a step well with about 120 steps leading down the shaft up to the well water. As I walked down the shaft, there was an overbearing smell of pigeon droppings (this place is filled with pigeons), and the air was very stale. So be warned. The water of the well, green with algae, was full of plastic waste (bottles, wrappers, etc) and was downright filthy. It was a very depressing sight to behold. But the walls of the shaft display a unique and interesting pattern. I wonder what the busload of pilgrims would have felt seeing the state of their sacred well. Like all historical monuments, this one too has a legend associated with it. Apparently, when the well was dug, there was no sign of water, and so two girls were sacrificed here, after which water was found. Not worth climbing down the stairs unless the well is cleared of plastic waste. Like the photos, if you like them! Follow me, Travelogist, for more similar updates

#hellohalloween #travel #familytravel We went to Jatashankar Mahadev Temple situated in Mount Girnar. You can go there from the other approach, not the main one. The scenic beauty on the way leaves you mesmerized. You must mislay yourself to be a part of these beautiful creatures of nature. It's all about feeling the vibes of peace there. It's great to have leisure while trekking, and it is well-connected. If you are going for sightseeing, this place is worth a visit only in the monsoon - that is, when forests become lush green and waterfalls erupt here and there. Your lungs will be filled with fresh air as you breathe heavily while climbing the staircase to Jatashankar temple, and a big waterfall on the way. It takes around 30 minutes to 1 hour to get to the top. You won't find much to eat there, so it is better to take some food along. Boards are guiding, and the sound of a waterfall approaching among trees, guiding you there, which fills you with excitement. You have to cross a waterfall to get to the temple. Having a splash in this waterfall can be a highlight of the trip for some. The waterfall can become dangerous, and you can get trapped here when it rains heavily, so be careful. #hellohalloween #travel #familytravel I rate the fort itself at say 2.5 out of 10 in terms of attractiveness. It's just a bit of walls (the entrance is nice), inside bushes and a few alleys. A square, simple little mosque, a couple of simple, uninteresting wells, a simple gate (just a hole in the walls). We have seen 100s of places, 100x more magnificent in India. However, this is not what is awful. What is awful is the hideous greed with which they will scam and extort money from you. Expensive entry - OK. Extremely expensive photography permit - OK. But that's not all. Then they make you pay a deposit for some piece of rubber. Then it turns out that paying a pile of money for permission to photograph doesn't allow me to enter with two cameras. I have to leave one behind, even though I have permission. But to leave, I have to leave $7,000 worth of equipment in a box with a broken lock, AND PAY a deposit for I think a key to this c.r.a.p. We wanted to go in after all this circus, but the guard continued to argue that we only had permission for one camera (of course, I had one, but the guard couldn't count to 1; maybe he thought the lens was a separate camera). Finally, we went in. Do you think you'll see anything since you paid for an expensive ticket? Wrong. We wanted to enter the Buddhist Caves. The guard asked for a ticket. Our tickets bought at the entrance were not enough; you have to pay extra. On leaving the fort, we wanted to get our deposit back - we didn't succeed. Because after half an hour, we are not due a refund of the deposit for the forced detention of our camera. Nightmare. We have visited halfway around the world. Seriously, go somewhere else. It's not about the money - it's not huge amounts of money anyway. It's about the principle. Do not support robbery.

#hellohalloween #travel #familytravel Mahabat Maqbara is a landmark mausoleum in Junagadh. It is the majestic tomb of Nawab Mahabat Khanji II, the sixth Nawab of Junagadh. This was completed in 1892 and is a stunning monument with Islamic-style domes and European-style columns. Its intricate carvings in stone are noteworthy, and this minaret has huge silver doors. It was sad to note that many of the carvings were crumbling due to a lack of protection and maintenance. Adjacent to this is his vizier, Bahar-ud-din’s, mausoleum. It resembles the Taj Mahal and has four minarets with beautiful spiral staircases. These mausoleums are an artistic mix of European, Hindu, and Moorish architecture. It is an art lover’s delight, and one would easily spend 1-2 hours appreciating the beauty of these monuments. Located in the center of the town and very close to the Junagadh Railway Station, it is a delight visiting this place in the morning or evening. Access to the ground where these two artistic structures are located is free. The Jama Masjid on the same campus is a functional mosque that is managed by the locals. It was disappointing to note that these wonderful pieces of art are poorly maintained by the ASI and the Government of Gujarat. We could not see any security guarding this monument. There was a rusted signboard announcing that this was a protected monument. The steps of this mausoleum had started crumbling, and it is not safe to climb them. The local guide mentioned that the maintenance is not properly done owing to a dispute between Muslim bodies and the State over the ownership and maintenance. Sincerely request the ASI, the Gujarat Government, and the Muslim bodies to work together and take immediate steps to preserve and protect this jewel of Junagadh. Like the photos, if you like them! #hellohalloween #travel #familytravel To reach this set of Jein temples, located on a shoulder of the Girnar mountain, I recommend going up on foot, which is a great experience. You don't need to be an accomplished athlete to climb the 3,800 steps, which are regular and not too high. I recommend leaving fairly early in the morning (ideally around 6:30 a.m.) because at this time, the journey to the temples is in the shadows. The path is dotted with huts selling drinks and food. I also recommend bringing a stick (to rent from the shops downstairs) and a small backpack with 1 liter of water and some energy sweets. Left at 6.30, I arrived at the temples around 9 am. After the entrance gate to the temples, there is a smaller gate on the left which gives access to the two temples that can be visited (the others, smaller, are closed, except for one, which is a little further to the right). Entrance is free, but you must leave cameras, phones, and sticks in padlocked lockers. The temples cannot be compared with Palitana's architectural and sculptural quality, but there are some interesting statues and reliefs. Photography is prohibited, but it is easy, after the visit, to climb the path leading to the summit for a few dozen meters to have a panoramic view from outside the enclosure. Allow an hour and a half for the descent to be in town for lunch. Like the photos, if you like them! Follow me, Travelogist, for more similar updates

#hellohalloween #travel #familytravel Maa Amba Mandir is one of the three sacred places that are situated on Girnar Mountain. The other two are: 1. Jain Temple. 2. Bhagwan Dattatraye ( Lord Vishnu's Avtar) Important Note: Plastic container carrying is prohibited, which includes Mineral Water too. There is a Roapway car, which goes from the base to the Goddess Amba Mandir. From the Roap way, Destination Amba Mandir would be 25 Steps, Dattatraye Mandir would be around 1200 Steps ( Inclined), while Jain Mandir would be around 1500 steps ( Downwards) Roapway can be booked online through udankhatola and the venue of ropeway station can be tracked through google maps, i did the same. Roapway starts sharp at 7 AM, and online ticket holder also has to stand in queue but it clears very fast. you dont have to carry paper ticket, your email ticket would be suffice. When i visited the shrine, it was no crowd as i reached here at 7:15 AM and my Darshan happed very smoothly. Maa Amba has Jyot ( Burning lamp) which is lit continuously since 1000's years. I am blessed that Maa gave us such a delightful Darshan. High-speed wind on the top, which certainly calls for a light jacket or a Wind cheater. May Maa Ambe bless all of us. #hellohalloween This is my 2nd visit to the same location. Visited the Jain Neminath Temple in December 2024 through the ropeway. The ropeway drops you at Ambaji mandir. From there, it's a 1200-step downward walk to the Neminath temple. If u wanna come back via ropeway, u have to climb the 1200 steps up to the ropeway/Ambaji mandir. However, if u want to visit Sheshavan, it's another 1500 odd steps to Sheshavan and around 3000 steps down to the base/taleti. If u take the Sheshavan route, then u can't take the Ropeway back. Ropeway - Neminath temple - Sheshavan can take 5-6 hours. Ropeway - Neminath - Ropeway can take 3-3.5 hours. Pakshal pooja pass is available only till 9.30 AM. So catch the first ropeway at 7 am. Chandan Puja starts around 12 noon. To avoid queues better to take early morning 7 am or latest 8 am ropeway tickets. Post that, the waiting time in the ropeway queue can get very long. Dolis are available from Ambaji to Neminath and back. With an extra charge, Doli is also available to cover Sheshavan. Ropeway can be booked online as well After trekking all around the world, this is one of the best we have ever experienced. The mountain has a large number of temples, some small and some sizeable. Many of those on the mountain are pilgrims, and so the atmosphere is joyous and celebratory.
