#beachlife Fabulous spot to camp. Clean well maintained DOC campsite just a 5-10min drive from Cape Reinga. Basic facilities include toilets(no smell) and water which requires boiling first before drinking. You can camp right next to the beach or back inland a bit, if you don't enjoy drifting off to sleep to the sound of crashing waves). Breathtaking cliff- top walk to the lighthouse, or in opposite direction toward Spirits Bay. Also a spectacular walk from lighthouse walkway heading south down to Te Werahi Beach. Nice also, if you're into a little kayak fishing (if calm enough), or just relaxing under Pohutukawa tree's on the beach. Also a nice little estuary for kids to play in on an incoming tide. If you enjoy peace and tranquility recommend staying in autumn or even early winter as the far north is generally mild even in the chillier months, and due to the remote location you could possibly have this amazing spot pretty much to yourself.

There are a number of places to get onto 90 mile beach, but be aware the most southerly entrance is blocked off as there is a large stream between the entrance and the beach. You can drive onto the beach but will need the appropriate vehicle eg 4WD. The beach is stunning and the dunes at the northern end of the beach are very impressive. #wintergetaway #wintergetaway
