I flew via Addis Ababa straight to Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side. My first impression from the Elephant Hills Resort: you can see the massive cloud of spray rising for miles above the jungle. It looks completely surreal, almost like a perfectly crafted set from an adventure movie. The raw numbers are one thing—1,708 meters wide and over 100 meters deep. But when you’re actually standing at the viewpoints, it’s mostly loud, wet, and incredibly overwhelming. Without a rain jacket, you’ll be soaked to the bone within two minutes—there’s no escaping it. The old steel bridge from 1905, which connects Zimbabwe and Zambia, provides a damn cool industrial contrast to the untamed nature. Two things you should know: 1. The helicopter flight over the gorge is pricey, but worth every penny. It’s only from the air that you can truly appreciate the bizarre T-shaped gorge system. Visually, it’s absolutely stunning. 2. I had to skip the famous "Devil’s Pool" on the Zambian side—it was closed for the season. Quite frustrating, but nothing you can do about it. If you’re looking to extend your trip: The border crossing at Kazungula into Botswana uses a one-stop system and was surprisingly easy. From there, you can easily head down toward Chobe National Park and the Okavango Delta. Definitely worth the effort.

In the Chobe National Park in Botswana, I saw the lion from a long distance. I also saw the thick and long elephant's whip for the first time. Many of my favorite purple-breasted Dharma are flying, the gazelle is dense, and the giraffes are in groups. Here is a bushy thick, Chobe River, ample water, very suitable for animal survival, is a paradise for animals.
