When you think of Kure in Hiroshima, "The Blood of Wolves" comes to mind, so we stayed at the very hotel used during the filming. It's the exact spot where the Yacchare-kai was held. And yes, it even has that terrifying bathroom where Ichinose was arrested at the end🚻 Take a bus from Hiroshima Airport and get off at [Hondori 3-chome]🚎 It's just a short walk from there. We took the final flight into Hiroshima✈️ Our flight was delayed, so I was worried we'd miss the last bus, but they actually waited for us to make up for the delay😮💨 We didn't check in until around 11 PM, but the staff was so welcoming, which we really appreciated. The hotel has been renovated since they filmed the movie, so it was really clean and modern. The kids absolutely loved the bunk-bed-style room😊 Thanks to the renovations, the large public bath—though not huge—was incredibly clean and relaxing. I was also super happy they had a ReFa hair dryer😇 Other filming locations were just a quick walk from the hotel, so we easily checked them out in about 30 minutes during the quiet early morning hours📸 📍K.M.H Art hotel by Kure Morisawa Address: 15-22 Honmachi, Kure, Hiroshima 737-0032 Highlights: The kids were thrilled with the bunk beds Highly recommended for fans of "The Blood of Wolves"🫶🏻 Filming location tour Spot

If you visit Kure City in Hiroshima Prefecture, you absolutely must try the famous cream pie from Edelweiss Patisserie. The cream pie costs 465 yen (tax included) per piece. It features a crispy pie crust filled generously with mildly sweet custard and whipped cream, offering a pudding-like texture as well. Edelweiss Patisserie – Kure Hondori Store 3-4-6 Hondori, Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture Closed: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday They often sell out by the afternoon, so I recommend stopping by early in your trip. In the past, you could eat inside the shop, but it is now takeout only. It’s also lovely to take it with you and enjoy it while looking out at the sea. #呉市 #Kurecity #広島 #hirosima #japan

#0yentrip There are several ferries going from Hiroshima to Matsuyama, and more than half of them are now newly built and operate under the names Sea Paseo and Sea Paseo 2. This ship is truly the most recommended of all the ferries I have been on in Japan. The interior is simply beautiful and has a wonderful design, and there is also a rooftop deck, as well as a counter where you can order udon noodles, rice balls, and more. I ordered and ate udon noodles on board. Feeling the rocking of the ship and gazing at the sea while eating warm udon noodles was a particularly memorable part of the trip. The atmosphere on board was calm, and I was able to relax despite the long journey.

I visited Hiroshima twice, and this time I saw their Naval Memorial Hall. The most impressive part was this passage: "Those who do not seek progress will not win. The best way is to rise up and change after defeat. Japan does not value progress. It only focuses on self-righteous cleanliness and morality, and has long forgotten the deep meaning of progress. Apart from rising up after defeat, what other ways can save Japan? If it does not wake up now, there is no hope. We are willing to be the pioneers (to save Japan). To die for the rebirth of Japan (using the verb 散る, which means the withering of cherry blossoms), isn't that what we want?" This passage is from "The End of Battleship Yamato" and quotes a captain who died in combat aboard the Yamato. Although it is full of self-admiring militarism, from the Japanese point of view, just like the people with lofty ideals who stood up when we experienced a national crisis, isn't it also a sacrifice for their country? Justice is a difficult thing to define. No matter how it is defined, it cannot be at the cost of invading or sacrificing other countries!

Located in the Kubi area of Osakishimojima, Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Mamena Shokudo is a simple restaurant that serves home-style dishes using local ingredients. It is loved by locals and tourists and is a central presence in the local community. Recommended points ・Utilization of local ingredients: The Kubi area has a deep-rooted culture of home gardening, called "notoko," and it is customary for residents to grow and exchange vegetables with each other. Mamena Shokudo uses an abundance of these fresh local vegetables to create menus that aim to make you healthier the more you eat them. ・Hub of the local community: Originally built in a renovated building from the old Kajiwara clinic, this restaurant serves as a gathering place for local seniors and young people. It also serves as a place for interaction with local residents and as a third place where multiple generations gather. 〜〜〜〜〜Information〜〜〜〜〜 📍Mame Na Shokudo Address: 2312 Kubi, Toyomachi, Kure, Hiroshima 734-0304 Access: 70 minutes by car from Kure Station Opening hours: 11:30~13:30 *Closed on Thursdays Reference menu ・Daily lunch: Daily menu using fresh locally grown vegetables and fish 〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜 #Domestic travel strategy #Domestic travel

𓇠✈︎ "Mitarai Preservation District" on a remote island in Hiroshima A road trip while island hopping on the Tobishima Kaido The port town of Mitarai was designated by the government as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings in 1994 It is also a filming location for Drive My Car There were posters of the movie starring Hidetoshi Nishijima and the red Saab, which was filmed here, hanging in the town There were many cafes and restaurants that we stopped by while strolling around the port town, and many photogenic spots! 📍Shiomachikan The interior was retro with a Showa era feel, and the pudding bowls were cute 📍Funayado Cafe Wakanaga A cafe renovated from a building that used to be a boathouse. If it's available, I recommend a seat on the second floor. The chocolate cake had lemon peel from Hiroshima and was delicious. 📍Kou Setouchi Main Branch I had lunch here. Anago rice and sea bream set meal 📍Kangetsuan Shintoyo A lodging that only accepts one group per day Apparently, the photo of the drive-by car was taken on the second floor here. I looked at the website and it was a wonderful lodging. #besttrip2023 #domestictravel #hiroshimatrip #hiroshimatourism

Access: 30 minutes by boat from Mihara Port Tourist attractions: Cafe and souvenir shop "Shiomachikan", Sugawara Shrine, Edo period streetscape, etc. The Mitarai district of Osaki Shimojima is a stop on the tour from Mihara Port. The Mitarai district retains the streetscape of the Edo period and is preserved as a preservation district. Shiomachikan is a small shop that sells cafes and souvenirs. If you go to the Mitarai district, it's definitely worth stopping by. Cafes and luxury inns line the seafront. There are also about three shrines. It takes about 60 minutes to look around, so it's perfect for a stroll. #Domestic travel #Hiroshima #Edo period #Osaki Shimojima

#Hiroshima #Kure Visited on March 2nd. About a 5-minute walk from JR Kure Station. The Yamato Museum is a museum dedicated to the battleship Yamato, where you can experience the history of Kure as a naval port and the greatness of the Yamato. There is also a Maritime Self-Defense Force museum nearby, which you can visit for free if you line up early and aim for the right time.

A place I've wanted to visit ever since watching "In This Corner of the World" While feeling the breeze from the harbor, I watched ships coming in and out, and before I knew it, it was dusk 🌆 Nearby sightseeing spots ・Yamato Museum, themed around the battleship Yamato ・Must-see for Umizaru fans! The battleship Yamato (Yamato, the first ship of the Yamato-class battleships) was the largest and heaviest battleship built by the Imperial Japanese Navy, and one of the most powerful gunboats ever built. Together with its sister ship, the Musashi, it represented the pinnacle of the Japanese Navy's "giant battleship, giant gun" era. The 2019 film *The Great War of Archimedes* (Japanese: アルキメデスの大戦) offers a fascinating perspective on the internal discussions within the Japanese Navy regarding the types of warships that should be built. 💀 April 7, 1945: The Yamato sinks This is Yamato's most famous battle. Operation Ten-Go In April 1945, Japan dispatched the Yamato to Okinawa. The plan was, in fact, a desperate measure: The Yamato was to sail towards Okinawa for surface bombardment; If it ran out of fuel, it would be grounded and used as a permanent gun emplacement. In other words, the Japanese Navy essentially knew this was a mission with virtually no chance of return. After the United States spotted the Yamato, it launched a large-scale carrier-based air campaign. Approximately several hundred American aircraft launched successive attacks. The Yamato was hit by: · Torpedoes · Bombs · Rockets A continuous barrage of attacks. Ultimately, it exploded and sank in the waters near Okinawa. Approximately 3,000 people died.

#KureCity When visiting Hiroshima, besides Miyajima and the Peace Memorial Park, a day trip to Kure City is highly recommended. Take the JR train from Hiroshima to Kure (about 50 minutes). This port city facing the Seto Inland Sea was once an important naval base and shipbuilding center for Japan. Your first stop is the Kure Historical Museum of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. The most captivating exhibit is the massive submarine "Akishio" displayed outside the museum. You can observe a real submarine up close, and even step inside to imagine the lives and work of the officers and soldiers in their cramped quarters. Next, I recommend visiting the adjacent Kure Naval Base. Kure City established its naval headquarters in 1889 and a naval arsenal in 1903, gradually developing into an important naval port and shipbuilding base for Japan. During World War II, the world-famous battleship "Yamato" was built here. The most impressive exhibit is a 1/10 scale, 26.3-meter-long model of the Yamato, showcasing the technology and history behind this giant ship from its design and construction to its eventual sinking. But stepping into the museum reveals that it's more than just a celebration of battleships. Exhibits like the Zero fighter and the "Kaiten" torpedo, a human-made torpedo, highlight the brutality of war and the countless stories of ordinary lives lost. Post-war Kure City utilized its existing shipbuilding technology to rebuild, developing civilian shipbuilding and becoming a major shipbuilding city in Japan. After visiting the museum, you can enjoy naval curry and shopping nearby, providing a relaxing ending to this historically rich journey. What impressed me most about Kure City was that it not only preserves the memory of war but also chronicles how a city transformed from a naval port and wartime industry to a place of peace and shipbuilding. More than simply "seeing battleships," this was a journey into understanding Japan's modernization and historical turning points.

This trip to Hiroshima, from the city's historical memories to the island and port town vibes, brought different surprises every day. Our first stop was the Peace Memorial Park and the Atomic Bomb Dome. Seeing the scars of history firsthand made me appreciate the preciousness of peace even more. Downtown Hiroshima isn't too large; the streets are clean and quiet. Hopping on a streetcar to get around is the perfect way to slow down and truly soak in the city. Miyajima was one of the most anticipated highlights of this trip. Taking a ferry to Itsukushima Shrine, depending on the tide, the Great Torii Gate either appears to float on the water or allows you to walk right up to it. Paired with the island's mountain views and sea breeze, it is absolutely enchanting. While strolling down the Omotesando shopping street, we enjoyed local specialties like oysters, conger eel (anago) rice, and deep-fried Momiji Manju—and of course, we didn't forget to say hi to the laid-back deer roaming around. We also made time for Kure to experience a port town atmosphere completely different from Hiroshima City. Kure is renowned for its shipbuilding and naval history. Visiting the Yamato Museum offered a deeper understanding of Japan's modern shipbuilding and military development, adding a layer of historical depth to the journey. Hiroshima is a city perfectly suited for slow travel. It has history, ocean views, great food, and a quiet, comfortable pace of life. After exploring these places, I could truly feel its unique charm, making it a trip that leaves me eager to visit again.

When visiting Kure City in Hiroshima Prefecture, the Yamato Museum (Kure Maritime Museum) is an absolute must-see attraction. The museum's most iconic exhibit is undoubtedly the 1:10 scale, 26.3-meter-long model of the battleship *Yamato* displayed right before your eyes. Built using original blueprints, historical photographs, and underwater survey data, the model boasts incredibly exquisite details. Everything from the main guns and the bridge to the deck equipment and even the anti-aircraft gun layout has been faithfully recreated. Standing in front of it, you can still feel the sheer overwhelming presence of what was once the world's largest battleship, even if it's just a model. Beyond the *Yamato*, the museum houses a vast collection of naval and shipbuilding artifacts, including various ship models, aircraft, and torpedoes. It also chronicles the history of Kure City, tracing its evolution from the Meiji era into one of Japan's premier naval ports and shipbuilding hubs. Rather than glorifying the military, the museum aims to inspire visitors to reflect on the importance of peace through the lenses of technology, industrial development, and the history of war. Even if you're not a military buff, anyone with an interest in transportation, engineering, or large-scale models will find themselves captivated by this giant *Yamato* replica. Looking down from different floors allows you to fully appreciate the scale and intricate details of the entire battleship, with every angle offering a uniquely awe-inspiring perspective. Getting there: Just a 5-minute walk toward the sea from JR Kure Station (Kure Line). Simply walk straight through the Youme Town shopping mall, and you'll see it right in front of you.

Day 1: Arrival in Hiroshima & A Booming Start to Summer in the City After arriving in Hiroshima in the afternoon, drive to the Grand Prince Hotel Hiroshima, surrounded by the sea on three sides, for check-in. In the evening, drive to downtown Hiroshima. Visit the Atomic Bomb Dome, and admire this historical site under the sunset, contrasting it with the bustling modern city nearby – a truly profound experience. For dinner, head to the nearby Shinchi-Okonomi-mura (Hiroshima Yakiniku Village) to savor authentic Hiroshima yakiniku with its distinct layers, yakisoba noodles, and generous amounts of cabbage. Return to the hotel in the evening and relax in the natural hot spring "Seto-no-Yu" while enjoying the sea view, washing away the fatigue of your journey. Day 2: Miyajima & Hidden Atomic Bomb Wonder Ruins In the morning, take the first high-speed ferry directly to Miyajima from the Grand Prince Hotel's private pier (saving you the hassle of driving to the pier, a fantastic experience). Visit Itsukushima Shrine, one of Japan's three most scenic spots, and the iconic Great Torii Gate over the sea. This is also early summer, when the island's wild deer are at their most active. Enjoy grilled oysters and maple leaf buns in the old town. In the afternoon, return to the hotel by boat and drive into the city to explore the history of the atomic bomb: Peace Memorial Museum: View historical artifacts, videos, and stories from that time – a truly moving experience. Former Bank of Japan Hiroshima Branch: A short walk away, this magnificent stone building miraculously survived the atomic bombing, located only 380 meters from the epicenter. The walls still bear the marks of warped iron windows and burns from the bombing. Hiroshima Castle Outskirts and the Third Maru: Although the castle tower is closed for earthquake repairs, admiring the magnificent moat and walls from the outside, and visiting the newly opened Third Maru and the restored Second Maru, still offers a strong sense of history. Day 3: Kure City, a Legendary WWII Naval Port & A Tour of the Battleship "Yamato" After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, drive along the coastline to Kure City (approximately 35 minutes). This city was once home to Asia's largest naval factory during WWII. Visit the Yamato Museum, where the most impressive exhibit is a 1:10 scale, 26-meter-long giant model of the battleship "Yamato," along with Zero fighter planes and WWII artifacts. Then, head to the Iron Whale Museum across the street for an interior experience inside a real, decommissioned giant submarine. For lunch, enjoy "Naval Curry" or Kure udon, a dish traditionally eaten by the Japanese Navy every Friday in Kure City. In the afternoon, visit the Irifuneyama Memorial Museum. This former residence of the highest-ranking naval commander, its semi-Japanese, semi-European architecture preserving the lifestyle of high-ranking Japanese military officers before WWII. Return to the hotel in the evening and enjoy your last night at the Grand Prince Hotel, soaking in the hot springs and gazing at the stars over the Seto Inland Sea. Day 4: Sake Brewery & Classic Onomichi Castle (Super Relaxing, Extremely Chilly) After checking out of the hotel in the morning, depart and drive approximately 45 minutes to Saijo Sake Brewery Street, known as the "Sake Capital." The white walls, black tiles, and red brick chimneys are very distinctive. You can visit an old brewery (such as Kamotsuru) to sample top-grade Daiginjo sake. Enjoy a unique "Sake Nabe" (a hot pot of fresh, sweet chicken and vegetables seasoned with sake and salt; the alcohol has evaporated, making it incredibly delicious) at a local traditional house. After lunch, drive for 1 hour to Onomichi city. Take the Senkoji Ropeway directly to the summit for breathtaking views of the Seto Inland Sea island hopping. Afterwards, walk down the stone steps through the charming Neko-no-Hisode (Cat's Lane), filled with hipsters and street cats. Choose a café halfway up the mountain facing the sea, sip a Setouchi lemon cocktail, and enjoy the cool early summer breeze for complete relaxation. Day 5: A Stark Contrast Between the Dark Side of History and Healing Rabbits: A Full-Day Tour of Okunoshima Island After a leisurely breakfast, check out and drive approximately 40 minutes to Tadamami Port (the road conditions are excellent, and parking is available in the free public parking lot at the pier). Buy rabbit feed at the pier. Take a 15-minute ferry ride to the island. You have a full 3.5 hours today – plenty of time! This was once a poison gas factory erased from maps by the Japanese army during World War II. Search for the vast ruins of the [power plant] and [poison gas storage facilities] scattered across the island, and visit the [Poison Gas Museum] to see historical documents. The ruins appear magnificent yet desolate under the early summer sun, creating a truly stunning visual effect. In stark contrast to the heavy history, hundreds of docile wild rabbits will rush towards you along the way, begging for food – a very therapeutic and relaxing experience. Enjoy a local octopus set meal at the resort restaurant on the island. Take the ferry back to Tadashi Port, then drive 25 minutes to the 【Kamogawa-so】 nestled in the Takehara Mountains to enjoy a secluded, natural hot spring surrounded by a Japanese garden. Day 6: Morning Stroll at Edo-era Port & Final Sprint to Hiroshima Airport Souvenirs After a delicious Japanese breakfast at the inn, stroll along the old port of 【Tomonoura】 (also a filming location for the Ghibli film *Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea*). Visit the Edo-era lighthouse and gorse trees, taking photos while enjoying the cool sea breeze. Drive smoothly from the hot spring inn to Hiroshima Airport (only 25 minutes). Rent your car near the airport: Return your rental car at the airport rental shop; a shuttle will take you to the passenger terminal. While Hiroshima Airport is charming, the souvenir shops are fantastic! Before boarding, buy limited-edition "Hatedo" cream-filled bread, Setouchi lemon cake, and maple leaf buns. Board your flight promptly at 2 PM for a perfect return trip!

I took a trip to explore Hiroshima and Kure!✨ This time, I flew to Hiroshima with ANA, and after arriving, I took the train toward Kure. Just riding the yellow train put me in the travel spirit, and it was a lot of fun!🚃 In Kure, I strolled around town while taking in the classic port town views. From the hilltops, you can see the coastal streets and massive ships. I was so excited by the spectacular scenery that you don't get to see every day. The ocean and the mountains are so close together, and I think one of Kure's greatest charms is how the landscape changes with just a short walk. In downtown Hiroshima, I wandered the streets and indulged in the local food scene. For dinner, I had Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki cooked right on an iron teppan grill. The mountain of green onions and the aroma of the savory sauce were absolutely incredible—it's exactly what you crave when visiting Hiroshima!😋 Even on a short schedule, a trip to Hiroshima and Kure lets you fully enjoy port town views, a scenic train ride, and amazing local eats. I highly recommend it for anyone who loves a relaxing stroll through the city!✨ Tags

What comes to mind when you think of Hiroshima? Is it the steadfast vermilion torii gate standing tall in the sea, or the mouthwatering, layered perfection of a Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki? On this 8-day, 7-night immersive journey, I set off from Hong Kong, armed with a deep reverence for history and a keen eye for aesthetics, straight into the welcoming embrace of Japan's San'yo region. The prologue of our itinerary unfolded elegantly in Onomichi. Winding our way up the "Cat Alley" (Neko no Hosomichi), the chimes of Senko-ji Temple echoed gracefully between ancient stone steps and lush green canopies. Overlooking the Seto Inland Sea, that splash of silky azure seemed to instantly wash away the city's hustle and bustle. Later, we shifted course to Kure and stepped inside the Yamato Museum. Standing before the massive scale model of the Battleship Yamato, time felt suspended; every piece of iron and wood whispered tales of a dramatic and turbulent era. Right next door, the JMSDF Kure Museum (Iron Whale Museum) was equally awe-inspiring. An enormous retired submarine sprawled across the street—a jaw-dropping fusion of cutting-edge tech and sheer willpower that makes you marvel at the profound complexities of human civilization. Naturally, Miyajima's Itsukushima Shrine was the beating heart of this trip. Caught between the ebb and flow of the tide, the floating torii gate looked surreal, acting as a mystical bridge between the human world and the divine realm. There, I strolled alongside gentle herds of deer and savored plump, freshly grilled oysters at "Kakiya." That pure, sweet umami dancing with the salty sea breeze is exactly what authentic travel memories are made of. Navigating to the rhythmic ding-ding of Hiroshima's streetcars, we visited the Atomic Bomb Dome. Beneath a clear blue sky, the silent architectural ruins stood exceptionally solitary, yet they represent humanity’s most profound prayer for peace. The true essence of travel isn't just seeing the sights; it's conversing with history. From the steaming hot ramen yatai stalls in Hakata to the ultra-modern Aruaru City in Kokura, and the majestic samurai spirit of Hiroshima Castle, this epic trip wrapped up perfectly amidst the sweet, lingering aromas of okonomiyaki sauce and Momiji Manju. Decoding the Value of a Pass: Unlocking "Ultimate Cost-Performance" Through Railway Aesthetics On a traveler's map, the borders of Hiroshima and Yamaguchi often conceal the fascinating intersection of history and reality. For someone like me who seeks both profound experiences and smart travel hacks, this 8-day, 7-night "Spring in Hiroshima" wasn't just a soul-cleansing retreat; it was a brilliant game of Japanese railway aesthetics and calculated logic. The true "soulmate" of this trip was undoubtedly the JR Hiroshima & Yamaguchi Area Pass. While many see buying tickets as a mundane chore, I see it as a golden ticket to absolute freedom. In this era of e-tickets, a cost of just over 700 HKD buys you the pure elegance of "riding the wind" across the vast San'yo region. "The true luxury of travel doesn't lie in wild extravagance, but in maximizing its value." Flipping through the footprints captured by my camera lens, the coverage of this 5-day pass is simply staggering—stretching all the way from tranquil Mihara to the vibrant energy of Hakata in Kyushu. The real game-changer is that it grants travelers unlimited reserved seat bookings on the San'yo Shinkansen. Sinking into those spacious, first-class-style seats and watching the stunning Seto Inland Sea blur past your window—this stress-free way of moving is an absolute touch of class. If we set aside sentimentality and crunch the numbers, the magic of this Pass becomes undeniably clear: A Quick Dash to Hakata: Just one round-trip from Hiroshima to Hakata would normally run you 19,000 yen, which already blows past the 15,000 yen price tag of the Pass itself. Breaking Even on Day One: The moment you step out of Hakata Station, your trip has officially entered the realm of "pure profit." The 5-Day Golden Cross: Though the Pass is only valid for five days, if you curate your itinerary like a pro—cramming the furthest hauls (like Kokura and Hakata) into that active window—the remaining stops in Onomichi, Kure, and Miyajima effectively become history’s free gifts to the traveler. The final tally? With a bit of strategic planning, a total fare that would have skyrocketed to 43,000 yen ended up costing less than a third. I channeled those saved 28,500 yen straight back into the local economy, treating myself to plump Hiroshima oysters and making a deeper emotional investment into this beautiful city. That is the ultimate travel wisdom. Caught between the gentle clatter of streetcars and the lightning speed of the Shinkansen, we didn't just witness the scenery; we experienced local life. Exchanging your ticket takes nothing more than a quick scan at a station machine, putting a reserved seat right at your fingertips. This seamless blend of technology and convenience is the modern traveler's most elegant statement. The San'yo breeze swept through thousand-year-old sacred trees and breathed fresh life into this traveler's heart. This wasn't merely a departure—it was a true awakening and a profound cleansing of the soul. Journey

I recently visited the Yamato Museum, which just reopened in late April after renovations! The museum has a very clean and uncluttered layout, making the exhibits easy to view. The 1/10 scale model of the battleship Yamato, which you see after your ticket is checked, is truly impressive. It's overwhelming to think that it's only 1/10th the size! There were also exhibits detailing the background of the Yamato's construction and interviews with people who actually served on it, allowing me to gain a detailed understanding of battleship history. Some exhibits were even touchable, which was a nice touch, making it enjoyable for children as well. Personally, I was deeply moved to see the actual flag from the battleship Nagato, which Koji Ishizaka purchased with his own money after appearing on the TV show "Antiques Roadshow"! I also took a photo with the Shinkai, located outside the museum! Apparently, it was designed by a friend's grandfather, and I was deeply impressed by the important role it played in the history of Japanese submarines.

Kicking off an incredibly satisfying 3-day, 2-night trip based in Hiroshima✨ Our first stop: the seaside town of Kure🌊 Kure City Taking in the calm ocean views while feeling the romance of history, we headed to the Yamato Museum. It was so impressive, an immersive space that captivated me far more than I expected. Day 2: When you think of Hiroshima, you think of this place⛩️✨ Home to Itsukushima Shrine, we went to Miyajima. The torii gate and shrine pavilions that appear to float on the water are absolutely stunning—a true scenic masterpiece. And the deer you meet while strolling around the island🦌 They're so friendly and adorable; it was such a therapeutic time…♡ On our final day, we ventured a little further to Yamaguchi✨ Iwakuni City First, we hopped on the ropeway to Iwakuni Castle🏯 The view from the top was amazing, giving us a little sense of adventure. Next, we paid a visit to Iwakuni Shrine, and wrapped up our trip right here👇 Kintaikyo Bridge (A beautiful arched bridge that looks like a pair of glasses✨) Going down beneath the bridge, peeking at the underside, just goofing around... These casual little moments are the most fun😃 Using Hiroshima as your home base makes for the ultimate trip where you can enjoy the ocean, history, and breathtaking views all at once. Shrine Castle

Anji, this lush green land, always brings endless surprises. This time, I came with my wife and our little daughter to Zhangwu Town, a small village rich in cultural heritage, not only picturesque but also full of fun places. Here, we stayed at a special hotel—Qingxian · Anji Cultural and Art Hotel, which is not just a hotel but a paradise of art. 👧 Baby’s Fairy Tale Cottage 🏠 As soon as we entered Qingxian · Anji Cultural and Art Hotel, we were drawn to the cozy family room. The room is also equipped with child-friendly toiletries, from toothbrushes to bathrobes, every detail thoughtfully considered. Every morning, we woke up to the sound of birds outside the window, as if embraced by nature, feeling especially refreshed. 🌞 🎨 Immersive Art Experience 🎨 One of the biggest highlights of Qingxian · Anji Cultural and Art Hotel is its artistic atmosphere. The hotel’s Qing Art Gallery houses many works by contemporary young and middle-aged artists and regularly hosts various art exhibitions and aesthetic education activities. We took our daughter to several exhibitions, and she was full of curiosity about the colorful paintings and sculptures. Especially memorable was a parent-child pottery class we attended, where our daughter made a small pottery piece by hand, and the sense of accomplishment made her happy for days. 👩‍🎨 🏞️ Fusion of Nature and Culture 🏞️ The hotel enjoys a prime location in the heart of Zhangwu Village, surrounded by beautiful natural scenery. Just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel, you can reach Anji Game Children’s Village and Moon Lake Tourism Complex, places perfect for adults to relax and entertain, and also a paradise for kids. Take a stroll around the Kure Port area, where you can walk along the connecting paths to reach the Kure Port Observation Deck, the Yamato Museum (Kure Maritime History and Science Museum), and the JMSDF Kure Museum (Iron Whale Museum). The nearby plaza is designed to resemble the foredeck of the battleship Yamato, and you can see military ships right at the port. Ferries here travel to Etajima and Matsuyama, offering views of the shipyard scenery. Watching the ferries come and go at Kure Port provides a glimpse into the port's rich history, all conveniently accessible for visitors. Adjacent to the port is the large shopping center, youme Town Kure, which is perfect for shopping and dining. It features stores like UG, Uniqlo, Muji, and many others, making it a great place to explore. The mall also houses numerous restaurants and a large supermarket for supplies. The most famous attraction in Kure City is the Yamato Museum (Kure Maritime History and Science Museum), where visitors can learn about the history of Kure as a naval port, as well as the shipbuilding and steel manufacturing technologies. Kure City once flourished as Japan's premier naval arsenal town and was the birthplace of the battleship Yamato. Although I had planned to visit this museum, unfortunately, it is currently under renovation and will not reopen until April 23, 2026. However, right next door is the JMSDF Kure Museum, easily recognizable by the massive submarine suspended in mid-air by the seaside. Admission is free, and the museum spans three floors, offering detailed explanations about underwater mine-clearing systems. Visitors can even step inside the submarine itself. The interior of the submarine is incredibly cramped, filled with various instruments and wiring, with every inch of space utilized efficiently. It's truly fascinating. If you ever have the chance, a trip to Kure City to visit this museum is highly recommended.
