In a word…relax! This small, car-free island is absolutely perfect for those wanting to get away from it all, seeking to spend a peaceful few days or a week having a quiet holiday in the sun. You can also enjoy your time walking the island’s paths through its lush vegetation (especially on a walk to Sunj bay to spend an afternoon there). It is also possible to rent bikes to navigate the island tracks, or kayaks to spend some time doing something a little more active on the sea! (Ask locally about bike/kayak hire.) Lopud is easily reached from Dubrovnik. Jadrolinija have daily ferries to the island (one of which stops in Kolocep along the way and continues on to Sipan), which take 55 minutes/1 hour. Take the Jadrolinija car ferry from Dubrovnik’s Gruž port. It cost only 3.7 euro per trip. The island is walkable and have a great panoramic views from top. It’s also has a lovely sandy beach.
