Beautiful crossing to Matiu/Somes Island, made even better by the fantastic weather. It was great to have the choice to stop off at Days Bay on the return trip. Staff were welcoming and supportive. The seating wasn’t very comfy, but since the crossing was brief, it wasn’t an issue. We were incredibly lucky to spot dolphins on the way back 👌

Each villa boasts oversized glass windows, perfect for soaking in the tub while enjoying the scenery ✨. Hotel facilities aren't flashy, but they pay great attention to detail. For instance, the à la carte breakfast allows you to freely choose what you like, and even a fried egg can be presented artistically! The staff are warm, attentive, and never overbearing, with a touch of 'old friend' charm. The entire process, from being greeted at the door to check-in, is seamless. In the evening, there were welcome snacks. Don't let the 'small villa' fool you; the service is absolutely top-notch. The rooms are incredibly spacious, truly living up to the 'luxury villa' description. There's enough space to run laps in the room, with clearly defined areas for the bedroom, bathroom, and living room. The bed is exceptionally comfortable; you feel like you melt into it instantly, perfect for clearing your mind. The large window design in the bathroom is absolutely stunning; soaking in the tub with an unbeatable lake view in front of you is simply therapeutic! Each villa also comes with a fireplace, perfect for lighting a fire on a chilly winter day and cozying up with a cup of hot cocoa ⛺️. There are also many activities nearby; Queenstown is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts! Friends who enjoy thrilling activities can try nearby bungee jumping at AJ Hackett, skydiving in New Zealand, or ziplining 🚀. If you prefer a more relaxed experience, the Queenstown Luge or a Middle-earth sightseeing tour are also excellent choices. Those who prefer less strenuous activities can simply stroll along Lake Wakatipu or visit nearby restaurants to savor authentic local cuisine, with places like Blue Kanu and Nest having great reputations. In the evening, you can even watch the Milky Way from your balcony – truly romantic ❤️. Of course, it's not entirely without drawbacks. If you're someone who highly values hotel dining, you might find Azur a bit limited – there's no independent restaurant, and you can only order room service. Another point is that the price is relatively high, making it suitable for celebrating special occasions or when you want to treat yourself, like on a honeymoon. Upon entering Azur Lodge, what left the deepest impression was the unique design of its small villas. With only 9 high-end villas spread across the hillside, the views are maximized 👀. The villas' decor features a modern minimalist style, simple yet sophisticated. The lodge doesn't come with standard luxury facilities like a pool or spa, but it excels in personalized service and a unique living experience. The reception staff were very friendly, enthusiastic but not pushy, patiently answering every question, making the stay particularly comfortable 💁‍♀️💕. The stay experience deserves a perfect score 👍. Our villa was incredibly spacious, with a private balcony directly facing Lake Wakatipu. We could watch the sunrise directly from bed in the morning, which was both lazy and romantic 🌅. The villa's facilities were quite comprehensive, and the biggest surprise was a gas fireplace in the bedroom, perfect for cool mountain evenings 🥰. The bathroom design was also very special; you could enjoy the lake and mountain views outside the window while taking a bath, which was truly unreal. Moreover, breakfast was customized and served in the room; whatever you ordered was accommodated, and the eggs Benedict were especially delicious 🍳. Azur Lodge is not only comfortable to stay in, but its location is also excellent. From the lodge, many popular attractions are just a 10-15 minute drive away, such as the Queenstown Luge Skyline, bungee jumping, and ziplining. If you love "The Lord of the Rings," I highly recommend taking a small tour to the nearby filming locations, as if stepping into the movie set 🎥. Foodies will also love it here; try the unique Fogo South American BBQ, or head to Blue Kanu for a Pacific-Asian fusion culinary experience. Every meal is something to look forward to 😋. Of course, even the most perfect place has a few minor drawbacks. The overall cost at Azur Lodge is indeed on the higher side, with a night's stay costing a significant amount of 💰. If you have a limited budget, you might need to reconsider. Some guests have mentioned that the lack of an on-site restaurant can be a slight inconvenience, but thankfully, Queenstown's delivery and shuttle services can easily compensate for this. If traveling with family and friends, staying in the villa to enjoy the beautiful scenery and tranquility can actually feel like an added luxury~🍷. #newzealandtrip The Orongorongo Track is the most popular in Remutaka Forest Park. It's an easy grade and makes for a pleasant day trip to the Orongorongo Valley and back to the Catchpool car park. Catchpool valley is 12 km south of Wainuiomata. Follow the Coast Road for 10 km to the Remutaka Forest Park entrance, then follow the Catchpool valley road for 2 km to the car park and information area. If the water is flowing over the ford on the road, park before the ford and use the Nga Taonga Nature Walk to reach the car park

Not only a great walk or cycle ride, but also the opportunity for diving and fishing, picnicking or just enjoying the lovely scenic views.. Around the boardwalk up the other side. It's a great circuit. The views from the lookout above the lake are spectacular, the history is cool. The is a super rare dendraglyph if you know where to look. Highly recommended.

The decor is eclectic and inviting, and the ocean view is simply breathtaking. While the service might be a bit slow during peak hours, the generous portions make it worth the wait. The food and drinks are tasty with good portion sizes. Service was friendly and professional. We really enjoyed our meal and dining experience.
