Day 1: Departure from Busan & A Late Night in Shanghai I took a late-night Jeju Air flight and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport. By the time I landed, it was so late that most public transportation had already stopped running. Airport to City Center: Feeling a bit hesitant to call a Didi alone, I opted for the late-night airport bus. It safely dropped me off at People's Square, and it was a great way to take in the local vibe along the way. For accommodation, I stayed at the 'Dayin International Youth Hostel' near People's Square. It was well within walking distance from the bus stop, making the late-night commute a breeze. Day 2: From City Landmarks to a Forest Trek The real adventure began on Day 2. I started in the vibrant city and headed straight into the tranquil mountains. Shanghai Oriental Pearl Tower: I took an early morning stroll around Shanghai's iconic Oriental Pearl Tower, which truly made me realize the trip had begun. High-Speed Rail: I headed to Hongqiao Railway Station and hopped on a high-speed train to Deqing Station. China's high-speed rail is incredibly fast and comfortable, making it perfect for saving travel time. Mount Mogan (Moganshan): From Deqing Station, I took a bus and checked into my pre-booked Leeline Hotel. Right after dropping off my luggage, I headed to the Moganshan Tourist Center for my first trekking session. Walking through the lush bamboo forests gave me a sense of relaxation that felt completely different from Shanghai. Day 3: The Final Day Bridging Nature and the City I made the absolute most of my final day on this trip. Before catching my flight back to Korea, I couldn't bear to let my last night in Shanghai slip away, so I went to see the mesmerizing night view of the Oriental Pearl Tower once more. I wrapped up my trip with a lovely dinner under the dazzling city lights. Heading Home: The check-in for Jeju Air was at 1:30 AM, so waiting at Pudong Airport was a bit exhausting, but the overwhelming satisfaction of an action-packed 3-day trip made it all worth it. Found the hotel of my life in Moganshan 🏨 As soon as I entered the room, I couldn't help but send a video to my parents. The whole environment is super cozy 🍃! 270° floor-to-ceiling windows with a view, and a huge mountain view 🌄 outside the window. You don't even need a filter to take photos. You can have afternoon tea ☕, chat, and do some crafts at the homestay's small bar. There are many room types, most of which have private hot springs. My favorite is the outdoor private hot spring on the top floor of the homestay ♨ with a high-altitude view overlooking a whole bamboo forest and mountain sea. There is also a fireplace and a tea room next to it. Enjoy the sunset in the distance in the evening. It's super romantic. I look forward to coming back here in winter to see the hot springs and starry sky 🌌

The air is fresh and the peace and quiet is refreshing. The guesthouse owner was very hands on and from the moment we arrived he took care of us. Bringing us watermelon and cold water for a welcome snack, helping us with our bags. We could use the kitchen to make our meals and the swimming pool was clean. Anything we needed the owner gave us and more. Lovely stay in Mogashan will be returning.

🚗Getting There - It’s situated over an hour ⏰away from Huzhou city. You’d need a car to get there. You could also take a train🚊 from any other city to Deqing and a taxi from there. Make sure the driver drops you at the parking lot to avoid walking up a steep hill. 📍Address: Moganshan 莫干山蕨宿温泉美 🤩Attractions - Surrounded by mountains ⛰ and bamboo trees🎋 on a hill. Who wouldn’t love that? A hot spring tub is available for 180元 per session, which is an hour long. There is one room that has a built in hot tub in the room for exclusivity. There is a large swimming pool, which was drained out at the time of my visit due to the weather conditions. 🏨Hotels - This Villa has multiple rooms with mordern rustic interior design. 🍽🍛Food & Restaurants - There is a restaurant on site, but one has to order in advance. 🛍Shopping - There’s not much shopping to do around there except minor souvinirs. Moganshan is a perfect place for a quick getaway. Though there is no airport or train connection, you can easily get there by bus or taxi from either Hangzhou or Shanghai, though Hangzhou is much closer. Within the town there are plenty of places to stay. You won't find any big hotel chains, but that's the beauty of Moganshan. Every place here is unique. Yes, there are luxury hotels, but the best places to stay are the smaller hotels that only have a couple of rooms. You can even rent out the entire space. While you are there, you can get to the top of Moganshan by taking the shuttle bus. Personally, I would have enjoyed hiking up, but it's all along the roads plied with busses. Luckily, on my way down, I found a different path that cut through the bamboo forest.

Mogan Mountain is a famous mountain in the northern part of Zhejiang Province. It is located 60km north of the provincial capital of Hangzhou City and is known as a summer resort and sightseeing spot. It is 720m above sea level, and it is said that during the Spring and Autumn Period, swordsmith Ganjiang of Wu and his wife Mo Ye forged swords in the mountains, which is where the mountain got its name. There are many springs, ponds, and waterfalls, as well as flower fields and bamboo forests. It is very beautiful in spring and summer, but snow-capped Mogan Mountain is even more beautiful. #trip2022

Getting there- Take the fast train to Hangzhou, or change to Deqing station and from there hire a didi or taxi to take you on to your hotel. Attractions- MoganShan is known for its beautiful, lush green scenery. The best way to enjoy it is by relaxing outdoors or going on a hike in the surrounding area. We walked around Laolingcun scenic area, which provided beautiful views and had restaurants for lunch. Another option is ‘Discovery adventures’- if you are interested in high rope courses or rock climbing then this is a great activity Center to try some new things. Whilst we were there it was extremely quiet and peaceful, would recommend as a relaxing break from the city! #staycation

Around 200 RMB for 2 pax Attractions - Moganshan National Bamboo Forest and other outdoor activities (hiking, temples) Hotels - Emerald Whisper Hotel or other boutique hotels in nature (can be expensive depending on if you want to stay on the mountain or not). Food & Restaurants - Mostly Chinese local food, Old Station Coffee shop The Mogan bamboo forest is 115 RMB per person and includes a shuttle from the ticket office up the mountain to the scenic point. You can also choose to take another mini bus to drop you at selected locations inside the park at an additional cost (or you can walk in the nature). There are many other tourist sites to visit within Zheijing province but it is recommended to use a car to go from place to place or Didi (depending on how long you stay there). #nationalpark
