The blue is thorough and thorough, and it is dotted with the white and white clouds. The heart is bursting with tears. Unconsciously, the tears soaked in the eyes, and the inexplicable excitement is beyond words. Inside and outside the temple, cigarettes are lingering, and there is a mysterious and solemn atmosphere everywhere. A group of people came and went again with piety and confusion. Mount Wutai, the gateway to the Buddhist holy land in Shanxi
✨✨ Located in the northeast of Wutai County, Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province, Mount Wutai is the foremost among China's four famous Buddhist mountains, a holy land where Esoteric and Exoteric Buddhism coexist, and the sacred place of Manjushri Bodhisattva, who presides over wisdom. Today, I will share with you a detailed guide to a one-day tour of Mount Wutai.
1. Transportation🚖
Mount Wutai Airport is about 100 kilometers away from the scenic area, and Taiyuan Wusu Airport is 240 kilometers away. To get to Mount Wutai scenic area from Taiyuan, you need to go to Taiyuan East Bus Station to take a coach.
2. Tour Route🚸

Afternoon: Pay homage to the Wufang Manjushri on the top of Dailuo Peak, known as the 'Small Pilgrimage'.
3. Temple Introduction🙏🏻
【Wuye Temple】
Wuye Temple is the most popular temple on Mount Wutai. Originally a small temple belonging to Tayuan Temple, it became the most incense-burning temple on Mount Wutai due to the 'Wuye's' reputation for granting whatever is asked. As the saying goes, 'It's not the height of the mountain that makes it divine, but the presence of immortals; it's not the depth of the water that makes it divine, but the presence of dragons.'
【Shuxiang Temple】
Shuxiang Temple is the ancestral temple of Manjushri on Mount Wutai. The Great Manjushri Hall in the temple houses the largest statue of Manjushri on Mount Wutai. Manjushri Bodhisattva, who governs wisdom, is known as the teacher of Buddhas and has taught seven Buddhas, which speaks volumes about the vastness of Manjushri's wisdom.
【Xiantong Temple】
Xiantong Temple is the earliest and largest temple on Mount Wutai. Two thousand years ago, during the Yongping period of the Eastern Han Dynasty, two high monks, She Moteng and Zhu Falan, built China's first temple - White Horse Temple - on the outskirts of the then capital, Luoyang. Xiantong Temple on Mount Wutai was built by these two monks after they came to Mount Wutai, making it the second temple on Chinese soil.
【Tayuan Temple】
In many people's minds, Mount Wutai is associated with a majestic and tall White Pagoda. This pagoda, officially named the Sakyamuni Relic Pagoda, was built during the Ming Dynasty's Wanli era. Standing at 56.3 meters, it is a landmark of Mount Wutai. The temple where this pagoda is located is called Tayuan Temple, and as the name suggests, the temple is named after the pagoda.
【Dailuo Peak】
Dailuo Peak is located on a small mountain peak to the east of Taihuai Town. Ascending the 1080 steps of the 'Great Wisdom Path' from the foot of the mountain, you can worship the Wufang Manjushri Hall on the top of Dailuo Peak. The hall enshrines Manjushri from the east, west, south, north, and center, equivalent to paying homage to the Manjushri of the five peaks of Mount Wutai, hence the name 'Small Pilgrimage'.

Manjushri Bodhisattva once made a grand vow: 'As long as you come to Mount Wutai, I guarantee you will see me. However, in what form I appear to you, you will not know. The leaf, the flower, the stone, or the creature you encounter, each being may be an illusion of Manjushri Bodhisattva, all just to meet us. Imagine, what a wonderful encounter of beings that would be.

Beitai like a fight, high and sturdy in the sky, the name Ye Doufeng, 3061.1 meters above sea level, there is Lingying Temple for the non-scale Manjusri. As the first peak in North China, Beitai is known as the roof of North China. The difficulty of climbing the top of Beitai is also the biggest among the five. The distance is long and the rise is large, which is more labor-intensive. Many people choose to go to Beitai by car or climb to the top. After the North Taiwan, take the car and leave.
It is said that the Dragon King Hall in Beitai is very effective, so it has attracted countless pilgrims to pray. As for Lingying Temple, it is also the larger one of the five. It has just been renovated in recent years.

Dongtai - "Dongwang Mingxia, such as the wave like a mirror", the famous Haifeng, 2796 meters above sea level, there is Wanghai Temple for smart Manjusri. In the Song Dynasty, Zhang Shangying used poetry to describe Dongtai: "The clouds are smashing and peaking, and the sky is wide and wide. The northeast is clearly watching the sea, and the southwest is looking at Chang'an."
After the dawn, it arrives at Dongtaiding, and it is the cliffside. The wind horse flag that dances with the wind, and the traces left by people in the air. Our luck was very good. Although we did not see the sea of clouds, we saw a long-lost sunrise on the top of Dongtai, which was often rainy and foggy.
Longquan Temple Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Upon first sight of Mount Wutai, I encountered a double rainbow
I went to Mount Wutai to pray for blessings in the summer, and despite the scorching heat, Mount Wutai was very cool. The original name of Mount Wutai is Qingliang Mountain, and it truly lives up to its name! There are many temples on Mount Wutai, and the locals herding cattle on the mountain also form a beautiful landscape. This trip to Mount Wutai was a self-driving tour. On the way up the mountain, be careful to avoid the wandering 🐂. On the last day, I went to Longquan Temple to ask for holy water. After asking for the holy water, before leaving, a double rainbow 🌈 suddenly appeared in the sky, which was very shocking. I hope that the Bodhisattva will bless everything to go smoothly🙏🙏🙏
Xiantong Temple Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Xiantong Temple in Mount Wutai, the earliest temple in China
Xiantong Temple in Mount Wutai, the earliest temple in China, is different from other temples in the Mount Wutai complex. Its overall architecture is particularly spacious, making it very comfortable to walk around in, and it is truly deserving of its status as the premier temple of Mount Wutai.
Xiantong Temple was originally built during the Eastern Han Dynasty under Emperor Ming, and it has a history of more than 1,900 years. The architectural style is primarily of the Ming and Qing dynasties, with the Mahavira Hall, bell tower, and east and west side halls well-preserved. According to legend, Emperor Shunzhi of the Qing Dynasty became a monk here, with the Dharma name 'Xingchi'.
The Bronze Hall of Xiantong Temple is one of the four existing bronze halls in China, with an overall resplendent and magnificent appearance, a must-see!
Xiantong Temple in Shanxi, a must-visit place in this lifetime
Xiantong Temple, located in Taihuai Town, Wutai Mountain Scenic Area, Shanxi Province, was established in the Yongping period of the Eastern Han Dynasty (69 AD). It is the first Buddhist temple established on Mount Wutai, with the longest history and the largest scale. It is also one of the five major Zen places in Mount Wutai, the first temple in the mountain, known as the "second ancient temple in China", and one of the earliest temples in China along with the White Horse Temple in Luoyang. In 1982, the State Council listed Xiantong Temple as a national key cultural relics protection unit.
There are seven halls on the central axis, from front to back, they are Guanyin Hall, Manjusri Hall, Great Buddha Hall, Immeasurable Hall, Thousand Bowls Hall, Copper Hall, and Sutra Hall.
Speaking of the Immeasurable Hall, it is as high as 21 meters, without a single beam, all built with bricks. The outer eaves are carved with brick arches and flowers, and the inner ceiling is carved with a suspended dome, which looks like a flower-covered treasure top, with a unique construction.
You can take the free bus No. 8 in the scenic area, get off at the central area station, and visit with Wuye Temple, Tayuan Temple, Luohou Temple, Guangren Temple, and Shifang Hall.
Those who drive by themselves can park their cars in the parking lot of the Great Manjusri Temple and walk there. In the off-season, you can also park your car in the parking lot under the Dailuo Peak.

The Copper Pagoda of Xiantong Temple in Wutai, an ancient building cast during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty
The Copper Pagoda of Xiantong Temple in Wutai, an ancient building cast during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, has now become a must-see attraction for travelers. I was fortunate enough to come here in person and feel its unique charm.
The Copper Pagoda of Xiantong Temple in Wutai is located on Mount Wutai in Shanxi, a temple with a long history. This copper pagoda, after years of baptism, still stands on the top of the mountain, showing its solemnity and brilliance to people.
Climbing the copper pagoda, I seemed to travel through the space-time of the ancient times. The vast mountains and green forests around me made me feel the grandeur of nature. The incense and Buddha statues in the tower exude a sacred atmosphere, making people involuntarily bathe in peace and harmony.
The Copper Pagoda of Xiantong Temple in Wutai is not just an ancient building, but also a destination for people to pray and be devout. Many people come to worship, hoping to be blessed and blessed. Standing on the top of the tower, overlooking the magnificent scenery of Mount Wutai, I deeply feel the harmonious coexistence of humans and nature.
This article is my original content of personal experience and feelings. I hope that through my sharing, I can show the history and uniqueness of the Copper Pagoda of Xiantong Temple in Wutai to more people. Whether it is travelers or those interested in ancient buildings and temples, they will find visual shock and peace of mind here.
Xiantong Temple is located at the north side of the Dabai Tower in the central area of Wutai Mountain and at the foot of the Buddha. It is the oldest temple in the Wutai Mountain Buddhist Holy Land. Because the mountain where the temple is located is very similar to the Buddha's saying of the mountain, it is named the big name Lingxiao Temple.
