Day 4: A Day of Movement We started the morning surrounded by snow in Abisko, then spent the rest of the day on the road from Narvik to Svolvær. When there is heavy snowfall, the train from Abisko to Narvik may be suspended and replaced by a bus service. It’s important to check carefully, as the pickup point for the bus is different from the train station. There are monitor screens at STF accommodations and at the train station that provide real-time updates. We took a train from Abisko to Narvik, then transferred to bus no. 300 to Svolvær. You can pay the bus fare directly to the driver. The bus terminal in Narvik is quite small, just a simple platform located right next to a shopping mall. You can wait inside the mall comfortably. There are luggage lockers at the bus station, but as I mentioned earlier, they aren’t really suitable for large suitcases, which can be a bit inconvenient when traveling with the large luggage. We got off the bus at Svolvær sentrum (Lofotgata) and took a short walk to the hotel. 🏨 Anker Brygge : Room no.206 ✅️Recommendation => If I could change one thing about this trip, I would adjust the plan by flying from Oslo to Narvik and staying in Narvik for one night. I’d leave my large luggage at the hotel and pack only the essentials in a small backpack. From there, I would take a train to Abisko for a short visit, then return to Narvik afterward. Traveling with large suitcases on the train wasn’t very convenient, so this adjustment would make the journey much more comfortable and flexible. =>The journey from Narvik to Svolvær takes about four and a half hours. It’s best to travel during the day, as you’ll be able to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way. =>When we were looking for a place to stay in Lofoten, we came across another interesting option—Reinefjorden Sjøhus🏨. It’s located right by the fjord near Hamnøy, offering traditional fisherman cabins with stunning views of the mountains and sea.
