Coastal Driving, Mediterranean Food & Shopping Hunt 🩵
Starting in Malaga, our trip began with some authentic local football flair at La Rosaleda Stadium (P.º Martiricos, s/n, Palma-Palmilla, 29011 Málaga, Spain). Even if you’re not catching a match, the stadium shop opens Monday through Friday from 09:30 to 14:00, making it a great stop for jersey shopping and grabbing unique souvenirs before the crowds roll in.
Knowing a long drive lay ahead (Malaga to Valencia to Barcelona, a total of 13 hours!), we refueled at Raw Lounge & Tapas in Nerja (Paseo de Burriana | S/n, 29780 Nerja, Spain). The salmon dish here is a must-try—it comes in generous portions, with creamy sauce and perfectly cooked rice, ideal for fueling up for the journey north.
Unexpected adventures are always the most memorable! On the road to Valencia, we decided to skip the main highways and wound our way through La Rabita. This small seaside town greeted us with stunning ocean views—white-washed buildings set against deep blue water, almost evoking a little taste of Greece. Sometimes the best travel moments are those you stumble upon, and La Rabita became a surprise highlight. We stopped to soak in the scenery and capture those perfect coastal photos from the cliff—cloudy weather only added to the drama of the landscape.
Finally reaching Barcelona, all we wanted was sleep, so check-in was a welcome relief. After a good rest, we set out for some retail therapy at La Roca Village in the Valles Oriental region. This open-air shopping destination features a range of brands such as Helly Hansen, Bimba Y Lola, and Brunello Cucinelli. The entire area offers modern architecture and vibrant, decorative shop fronts—just strolling through is a treat. The sunny vibe and chic store displays made it hard to leave empty-handed.
Practical Tips:
- When jersey shopping at La Rosaleda, aim to visit weekdays in the morning for the best selection.
- Factor in fuel and rest stops for the long drive from Malaga-Valencia-Barcelona.
- At Raw Lounge & Tapas in Nerja, reservations aren’t essential for lunch, but arriving early helps secure a seat with a sea view.
- La Rabita’s oceanfront is perfect for photos—don’t hesitate to make spontaneous stops when scenic roads call!
- La Roca Village can get busy during weekends, so early arrivals mean easier parking and more leisurely shopping.
Whether you’re chasing football culture, culinary discoveries, or scenic detours, this itinerary promises a blend of adventure and comfort.
