The kids had a blast at this hidden gem near Seoul! (Includes a guide to getting a 200 won subsidy.)
Traveling with kids should be relaxing! I always hesitated between going to Japan, worried about crowds and tiring the kids.
This time, we tried Gyeonggi Province – skiing, amusement parks, and wearing hanbok (traditional Korean clothing) – which saved us a lot of trouble. Here's a super detailed guide for traveling with kids!
🎢 5 Must-Visit Family-Friendly Attractions (with Travel Tips)
1. Jisan Forest Ski Resort
The closest ski resort to Seoul! 10 runs from beginner to advanced, perfect for beginners.
They also have dedicated children's ski equipment rental. Compared to ski resorts in Gangwon Province during the Lunar New Year, it's less crowded, making for a fantastic experience!
2. Everland
The Korean version of Disneyland! Special themed areas in winter where you can have fun with kids, enjoy sledding and slides, and the thrilling wooden roller coaster.
A must-visit for kids is the Panda Pavilion. The speed pass is a great deal, allowing you to see the Everland family up close – one day is definitely not enough!
3. Korean Folk Village
Take amazing photos in hanbok! You can see traditional Joseon-era houses, folk performances, and hands-on crafts – perfect for introducing kids to Korean culture. There's a Hanbok rental shop right outside.
4. Suwon Hwaseong Fortress: A UNESCO World Heritage Site! The fortress walls are incredibly historical. I recommend visiting in the evening; the sunset is stunning for photos. If the weather is good, I recommend taking a hot air balloon ride in Suwon, especially for the beautiful and soothing night view. There are also many food stalls nearby, with delicious spicy rice cakes and fish cakes!
5. Suwon Starfield: A shopping mall perfect for a full day of shopping and eating! It has a huge starry sky library, a children's play area, and many local Korean brands. Find a coffee shop to relax in when you're tired – perfect for families!
