Address - Karapura, Srinagar, Kashmir, 190001. Getting There - To get to the floating market at Dal Lake, you can get a shikara (boat) ride at the jetty. They are many operators that offer the service. It cost about INR 770 for 1 hour. Attractions - There are lot of floating shops that sells apparel, dried food, groceries , carpet and many more. Along the trip, theres also a boat that come to us and sell flowers, food, and drink. Approx. 10 Km trek from the base. The whole trek is just awesome. On an average it takes 4-5 hours, and if possible spent one night there and enjoy born fire and sun rise. 70% of the path is just beside the small river, but steep ascent. Temperature is generally low at Lake, so keep some warm clothes with you. Rain is totally unpredictable, so try to keep a rain coat with you . Avoid trekking in monsoon as it is a bit risky that time. In the Kareri village there are so many home stays and Hosteller also, so Friday night you can spent there and then early morning start trekking.

This Time I visited Mclodgunj (Dharamshala) from Shimla Directly via bus which taken upto 12 hours. We started our journey at 9am and Reached Mclodgunj at 9 around. I generally not recommend Travel by Busy from Shimla. The best options are following:- option 1 . Take Flight from Delhi to Gaggal (Kangra) which is just 20-25 kms from Mclodgunj. Option 2 : Take Train from Delhi or Your convenient place and Get down at Pathankot Cannt Railway Station. From Pathankot You can take toy train which directly drop you to kangra or can aur take bus which takes hardly 2-3 hours. You can also Bring you own vehicle because Roads are awesome. Place to Visit : - There are Multiple Places where you can visit like : Bagshu Nag Temple, Triund Trek, Kherr Ganga Trek, Dalailama Temple, Chatti, Camping at triund etc. bagshu waterfall is breathtaking. Shopping:- You cab Visit Mclodgunj Market where multiple options ans antique items are available in reasonable rates. Pahadi and Cultural Cloths are also available. Getting There - From Amritsar take a long distance bus to Dharamsala (takes about three hours) and from there it’s easy to hop on a local bus to get to Naddi (30 mins max). This small village has got the most beautiful sunrise and sunsets, and also a bunch of beautiful people. I hitchhiked every day down and up the mountains. Before I was never good at appreciating mountains. However, immersing myself in the Himalayas in Naddi has truly been a life-changing experience from which my love for mountains grows - the deep peacefulness, the unique feeling of calm and tranquility, the vastness and stillness, the cleansing and healing powers. The mountains here have guided me to completely turn off my head and mind, and to trek down further into my heart. I have come to connect with a part of me that I have only recently discovered deep in the mountains. For anyone who is a mountain lover, I’d highly recommend to visit Naddi and appreciate the Indian Himalayas from there. Dharamshala is located in mountain range of Dhauladhar. It is also one of the biggest city in Kangra district. Dharamshala is connected by flight and road. Gaggan Airport is 30 km from city Center. There are direct busses from Delhi and other places. Flights are also regular from Delhi. Nearest railway station is Pathankot, which gets trains from multiple cities. Dharamshala has many places to visit and sightseeing. From relaxing mountain watching to Hiking to go on Meditation treat. With few people around and easygoing, kind, temple attendants and priests, this temple visit will always be a special memory. I'm so glad I took a cab from Shimla that waited for me. The walk from town is only for the most fittest used to high altitudes, and the bus from Shoghi drops you off at the bottom of the crazy dirt road. I recommend the tea at the takeaway. Delicious and restorative. A beautiful hill top temple in Shoghi town situated at 7200 feet (2195m). It is around 20km from The Lift Parking near The Ridge/ The Mall Road in Shimla. We drove around 6km from the Shimla main highway on to Shoghi Bypass. Last 2km of the drive is slightly adventurous as it is narrow road on a steep hill with curves to the temple. Once you reach temple, the 360 degree views are magnificent. We have to climb lots of stairs from parking to reach a newly rebuild beautiful temple having ‘Pahari” style wooden carvings. One can walk around or can relax in the open space around the temple to feel and enjoy the height in the hills. One can sit and meditate there as it is very peaceful here.

#hellohalloween #thingstodo #familytravel #couplestrip Amazing ropeway ride...very neat and clean cable cars...seating capacity of 6 people in each cable car, but if people are less, they allow even 4 people in one cable car...the view from the cable car is breathtaking...takes about 12 minutes to reach McLeodganj from Dharamshala via the cable car...is very safe...operated by Tatas...the access point on Dharamshala side is adjacent to HPTDC bus stand at Dharamshala...from the exit point at McLeodganj, Dalai Lama temple complex is at a walkable distance. Ropeway Timing 09:30 AM to 06:00 PM and Staff behavior very good and well maintained and clean washroom. Ropeway fare please decrease the amount.

#hellohalloween #naturalwonders #travel I had visited this place in 2001 and now revisited it after 22 years.The only difference was in crowd.That time it was virtually empty except there is school nearby full of kids which made it sorry of lively. Now,it attracts loads of domestic and international tourist.The road to the temple is still very narrow and bumpy but maintains the rustic charm with very little development along the road There is a ticket counter and you need to buy ticket online using your id such as Adhaar.You can buy on spot or before hand too. There are couple of tea stalls around which sells the usual chips,cook Maggie and over cooked tea.They also sell wheat dough to feed the fishes in the sarovar. There is board telling you the history of the place but local people believe that it was built by pandavas during their agauatvas. There are public toilets inconveniently built of top of hill but now new toilets are being built near the entrance/car park area. You can spend nice 2-3 hours at this place .

Shammi has boundless energy and a wealth of local knowledge that will ensure that you miss nothing on a trek, stay safe and have a truly wonderful and enjoyable experience. Shammi arranged all food and accommodation for our trek and we wanted for nothing. He made us very aware of altitude sickness and made sure we avoided that. We walked over glaciers, across avalanche areas, across rivers, and numerous beautiful villages . It was truly the trip of a lifetime and I can highly recommend Shammi as your guide in Kareri lake and I cannot believe that he could be bettered. The people we met through Shammi and the spectacular scenery experiences he afforded us will never be forgotten. I must also thank Munna bhaiya for his part in helping us enjoy such an exceptional experience.

#hellohalloween #naturalwonders #travel #familytravel Kangra Fort is a series of walls and gates, leading up to the remains of the main buildings at the top of the hill. Destroyed by and earthquake in 1905 it has been partially reconstructed. It is quite a climb to the top, there are lots of steps and the weather is sure to be hot. So take your time, water & a hat! There are some great stone wall carvings on one of the levels and the views from the top are quite spectacular. Not a climb for the faint hearted. We have visited Kangra Fort with 10 and 3 years old, and whatever I say is not enough. It's not a place for fuzzy people who have high expectations but for calm and peace lovers. We visited this Fort, especially for Aadinath temple at top, which is almost 4000 years old. Though Fort is not in great condition after the earthquake, it's still a good place to view. You must go if you have children who are fond of rich history.
