Before Your Flight Before traveling, make sure to check the latest entry rules. They don’t change often, but it’s better to handle formalities in advance. Three days before your flight, you need to fill out an online form. The form requires: • Your accommodation details in the Philippines • Arrival date • Departure date The form is simple and takes just a few minutes to complete. After submission, you’ll receive a confirmation, which is best saved on your phone. Return tickets are usually checked during flight check-in rather than at passport control upon arrival. If you're planning a trip to El Nido, I would recommend staying here for at least 5 days, but even in 3 days, you can visit the top locations! The main reason people go to El Nido is for the stunning islands, lagoons, beaches, gray limestone cliffs, and turquoise waters with an incredible underwater world. 🏝️Marine tours in El Nido are straightforward and easy to arrange. There are 4 tours: A, B, C, and D. You can book them almost anywhere, at hotels or online. I personally booked the most popular tours, A and C. 📍What locations are included in the itinerary? Tour A: Secret Lagoon, Big Lagoon, 7 Commando Beach, Shimizu Island, Payong-Payong Beach. Tour C: Helicopter Island, Hidden Beach, Secret Beach, Talisay Beach, Matinloc Shrine. 💸The cost of the tours ranges from 1200-1800 pesos ($21-$32). Lunch is included and is served on the boat or on the beach. Typically, it consists of rice, vegetables, chicken, fish, shrimp, and fruits. Water is provided for free everywhere, and you can buy beer and non-alcoholic drinks on the boat or at the beaches. Snorkeling and kayaking equipment rentals are paid separately. ⏱️Excursions start early in the morning and end around 5:00 PM. In the morning, you are picked up from your hotel and taken to an office where you receive a ticket with the name of your boat. Then, you wait at the pier with other tourists until your guide takes you to the boat. The guides in the Philippines are amazing. They are super friendly, always take great photos, make sure you've eaten, applied sunscreen, and that you're generally having a good time. Like all Filipinos, they are always positive, joking, and laughing. Since boats can't always dock directly on the shore due to coral reefs, you often need to wade or even swim. So, be sure to bring water shoes, a waterproof phone case, and a dry bag for your personal belongings. 🏖️On a free day from marine excursions, you can visit nearby beaches. Since I don't have a driver's license, I simply rented a tricycle with a driver for 1500 pesos ($27) for the whole day. He can take you to beaches or waterfalls and wait as long as you need. I ended up visiting Lio Beach and Nacpan Beach (my favorite, long and very beautiful), where I sunbathed and had the best massage on the shore with a stunning view for just 500 pesos ($9)!!! Of course, there are many other beautiful and interesting places around El Nido, and I hope to visit them next time🤍

Panglao is a small island where it’s easy to stay longer. We actually started thinking about moving here for a couple of months next year. Panglao is about something special. About waking up without plans, walking to the sea, swimming, having breakfast, and suddenly realizing you don’t need to go anywhere. I caught myself thinking, how nice it is to think about nothing except how to live today well. It’s a small island next to Bohol. Many people choose it as a beach base, but if you don’t rush, Panglao opens up in a very calm and pleasant way. ⸻ Where it is and how to get there The easiest way is to fly or take a ferry to Panglao via Cebu. The ferry takes about 2 hours. Ferry and flight tickets can be booked directly in the Trip app. The fastest route: Cebu → Tagbilaran Flight time about 1 hour Price usually 40–90 USD one way From the airport to the beaches of Panglao it takes about 15–20 minutes by tricycle or motorbike. If you’re already on Bohol, Panglao is connected to it by bridges. The drive takes around 30 minutes. ⸻ When to visit Panglao The best time is from December to May. February and March are the most comfortable. April and May are hotter, but the sea is great. From March to May there can sometimes be algae bloom, especially: • at Alona Beach • on popular beaches without strong currents It’s not constant and not everywhere. Often it’s enough to change the beach or the time of swimming. Reef areas and boat trips are usually clean. ⸻ Where to stay Panglao is simple. There are no “bad” or “good” areas here, it’s more about the rhythm. Alona Beach The most popular area. Cafes, shops, dive centers, active life. It can be noisy. Good if you want to be in the center of everything. A bit away from Alona Quieter, more space, cheaper. A good option if you want calm without isolation. Many beautiful and aesthetic hotels. West and north of the island Fewer people, more local life. Good for long stays, especially if you have a motorbike. We stayed at Fun Hotel. You can read my review on my page. We were very happy with it. ⸻ Beaches and the sea Panglao is not about one perfect beach. There are many beaches around the island, all different. Alona Beach The most crowded with tourists, but there is enough space. Sandy beach, you swim past some algae and reach the reef. Some people even saw a whale shark near the reef beyond the buoys. Whale sharks are safe and do not attack people. It’s lively and convenient, with boats, tours, dive centers, and sunsets. Sometimes the water can be a bit cloudy, but not always. Dumaluan and White Beach More spacious and calmer. Great for swimming and long walks. Reefs Many reefs start right from the shore. With a mask and snorkel you can swim every day without tours. ⸻ Things to do in Panglao It’s great here to: • snorkel from the shore • visit nearby beaches • take boat trips to small islands • watch sunsets • eat seafood If you want more activity: • diving • reef trips • a day trip to Bohol for hills and waterfalls You can also visit a cave, ride jet skis, banana boats, parasail, or take a boat trip to see dolphins. These activities are affordable and easy to arrange locally. ⸻ Food and cafes Food is simple and easy. There are many cafes with European and Asian cuisine. Fresh fish, fruits, rice, coconuts, McDonald’s and fast food near Alona Beach. There are shops and several 7-Eleven stores on the island. If you need specific familiar products, it’s better to buy them in advance. Cash is still important. Cards are not accepted everywhere. There are many exchange offices on the island, and the exchange rate is usually better than in Cebu and much better than at the airport. ⸻ Getting around the island The best option is a motorbike. Rental costs 10–15 USD per day. Bike rentals are everywhere. They usually don’t ask for a license, but I don’t recommend riding without one. Always follow traffic rules. If you don’t want to ride: • tricycles • taxis (Grab does not work here) Short rides usually cost 2–5 USD. ⸻ Places I recommend visiting • The cave • As many beaches as possible. Bring your own mask and snorkel so you don’t need to rent every time • Napaling Reef. Very beautiful but crowded. Swim a bit farther and it’s amazing. Entrance fee is 200 pesos per person. Parking and access to the hotel area cost another 100 pesos. Lockers and tables are available • A beautiful palm tree alley about 10 minutes from Alona Beach. If you stay longer, bring mosquito spray and food. Almost no people, quiet, palms and sea. Perfect for sunset • Diving on the island is good. Not spectacular, but solid. It's a five-hour minibus ride from the airport to El Nido; I'd probably leave it off my itinerary now. The second island was Cebu. Cebu left a lasting impression. After renting a car, visiting the famous Lapu-Lapu statue, exploring the sights of Cebu City, I went to the village of Moalboal. There you can fish and see schools of sardines—very impressive. The best thing is, you don't have to buy a tour. The main thing is to go ashore and swim about 10 meters, with a 95% chance of seeing those mamey schools of sardines. After spending the night in Moalboal, I went to the village of Oslob, famous for swimming with whale sharks. The price was 1,000 pesos (1,500 rubles). It was a great experience, I highly recommend it. I would even repeat it. Then, without spending one night, I drove to Cebu City. All the roads on Cebu Island are very beautiful and authentic, and the locals are beyond praise. All the locals are friendly, and it was even nice to chat with someone. After Cebu (the island), my flight was to Boracay. Boracay is a gorgeous place, the white beach is incredible, even in rainy and cloudy weather. This paradise is worth visiting at least once in your life. Overall, I recommend it to everyone. The Philippines is a very beautiful and rich country for traveling.

Highly recommended for ocean lovers, snorkeling, or diving enthusiasts. The journey started early in the morning with calm sea conditions. The first dive spot was the Shipwreck site. The wreck lies quietly in the sea, its hull surrounded by corals and marine life. The scene is both stunning and serene, perfect for photography and leisurely exploration. The highlight of the trip came the next day—Whale Sharks. Seeing these gentle giants swim by up close is indescribable. Their massive size yet gentle movements inspire a sense of awe for the ocean, an experience that photos simply cannot capture. The final stop was the Sardine Run dive site. Thousands of sardines formed swirling schools of fish, moving around you in mesmerizing patterns. In that moment, you completely lose track of time, wanting only to stay underwater and admire the spectacle. When I first visited Manila last year, I focused on Intramuros, Chinatown, and Pasay City. Airfare to the Philippines is incredibly cheap—less than NT$3,000 round-trip, and no visa required. Three nights in a three- or four-star hotel is only around NT$2,500. With all that, why wouldn't I want to come again? 💞Recommendation: The old town has its own unique charm, while the affluent areas have their own bustling and chaotic atmosphere. Basically, it has it all. Whatever you want to buy, there are malls everywhere. Whatever you want to eat, there are restaurants everywhere. Whatever you want to find peace and quiet in the bustle, there are even more parks. In short, BGC has it all. ⚠️Warning: Although BGC and Makati are relatively safer than other areas, dress modestly. After all, you never know when you might be targeted! These areas are full of high-rollers, and social incidents are constantly occurring! 💰Average Cost: It depends on your budget. I personally focus on walking around City Walk and taking photos.
