My journey to Morskie Oko was one of those experiences where the journey itself felt as beautiful as the destination. Surrounded by the dramatic peaks of the Tatra Mountains, the crystal-clear lake reflected the towering mountains and changing skies like a natural mirror. 🏔️💙 The walk through the peaceful mountain forest, the fresh alpine air, and the anticipation of finally reaching the lake made every step worthwhile. Standing beside Morskie Oko, with the mountains rising majestically around the water, felt incredibly peaceful and almost unreal. It was a perfect reminder of why I love traveling—sometimes the most beautiful memories come from a long trail, a breathtaking view, and a quiet moment surrounded by nature. ❤️🇵🇱 #morskieoko #MorskieOko #Poland #TatraMountains #Zakopane #PolandTravel #MountainLake #TrekkingPoland #NatureLovers #TravelExperience #TravelMemories #ExplorePoland #Wanderlust

My visit to Sopot felt like a refreshing escape along Poland’s Baltic coast. I loved strolling through the elegant streets, feeling the cool sea breeze, and making my way toward the beautiful waterfront. The atmosphere was relaxed, charming, and effortlessly inviting. ✨ One of the highlights was walking along Sopot’s famous wooden pier, stretching out over the Baltic Sea. With the sound of the waves, boats in the distance, and the open horizon ahead, it was the perfect place to slow down and simply enjoy the moment. From peaceful seaside walks to the lively charm of the town, Sopot gave me a different perspective on Poland—calm, coastal, and full of character. Okay, let’s spill the tea on one of Poland’s most ✨magical✨ hidden gems: Żeleński Palace (Pałac Żeleńskich) in Grodkowice. Trust me—you’ll want to add this to your travel swipe list ASAP! About the Palace This show-stopper of a building is a total architectural flex. Designed by the legendary Kraków architect Teodor Talowski (aka the “Galician Gaudí” 😍), Żeleński Palace is basically a masterclass in eclectic historicism. Built in 1902, it rocks a bold combo of romantic vibes, Neo-Renaissance drama, and early modernist flair. Snap-worthy features include its asymmetrical facade, an iconic corner tower, dreamy deep loggias, and gardens straight out of a storybook. Did we mention the brickwork is next-level? Talowski’s whimsical brick style makes the whole place look like it was snagged from a fantasy novel. A Bit of Old-School Glam Noble Roots: The land has some serious history—it belonged to the Żeleński fam from wayyyy back in 1623 all the way up to the end of WWII! Literary Vibes: If you’re into Polish lit, fun fact—famous writer and translator Tadeusz Boy-Żeleński used to chill here on his summer vacays. Kinda iconic. Palace in the Present Now, this gorgeously preserved place is living the good life as an elegant spot for outdoor weddings (seriously #weddinggoals ), bougie corporate events, and next-level fine dining. If you want to party or just feast like royalty, this is 💯 the place. How to Get There Location: Grodkowice, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, around 25km southeast of Kraków. Perfect for a fun day trip or a detour on your Polish adventure! Just grab a taxi or hop on a local bus from Kraków and you’re good to go. Tips for Your Visit DM them ahead for event or dining reservations (it’s private and hosts special gigs, so check availability before you roll in). Opening Hours: Varies depending on event schedule—book in advance for full info! Ready to shoot dreamy pics or live your best fairytale life? Żeleński Palace is waiting. Ready for some hidden gem vibes? Check out the Church of Our Lady of Sorrows (Kościółek cmentarny pw. Matki Bożej Bolesnej), a stunning wooden chapel tucked away in Wohyń, Radzyń County, Lublin Voivodeship, Poland. It’s giving big “wow, I need a pic here!” energy 📸. History & Architecture Let’s dive into the legend: · Origins: This Insta-worthy chapel was built at the very start of the 18th century! It originally served the local Uniate (Greek Catholic) community as a temple dedicated to St. Demetrius. · Style Switch: With the region’s ever-changing history (hi, time travelers!), the church later became Orthodox. Then, after 1918, it glowed up into a Roman Catholic cemetery chapel and was rededicated to Our Lady of Sorrows. · Gorgeous Details: Get up close to appreciate that classic wooden architecture. The building rocks an iconic overhanging balcony at the front, supported by sturdy pillars (so cute and cozy 🤩). Up top, spot the glinting metal roof spires topped with traditional crosses—total old-school fairytale vibes! Basic Info Location: ul. Cmentarna, 21-310 Wohyń, Poland Access: The church sits inside the local cemetery—so it’s a peaceful, atmospheric spot for a stroll. Opening Hours: Typically open during daytime for visitors. Special access during services or local events—always double-check before you roll through! Why You Should Go If you love secret historic spots, unique architecture, and getting off the beaten path, this place is a total must-see. Plus, the calm countryside mood is sooo good for recharging your wanderlust battery. Go snap some envy-worthy pics and soak up the legends—totally worth the trip! 🙌

Kraków’s Old Town is beautiful, but I found myself enjoying the city even more once I wandered beyond the usual tourist route. My first stop was Krakus Mound, where I climbed up in the late afternoon and watched the rooftops stretch across the horizon. The view was especially nice as the light started changing. Then I crossed the river into Podgórze. I liked the quieter streets around Bednarski Park, and the neighborhood’s mix of history, creative spaces, and riverside spots gave it a completely different feel from the Old Town. My third discovery was Nowa Huta. The huge avenues, socialist realist buildings, green spaces, and unusual Arka Pana church made it feel like I had stepped into another chapter of Kraków. It’s farther from the center, but definitely worth the tram ride. I still visited Wawel Castle, Main Market Square, St. Mary’s Basilica, Kazimierz, Cloth Hall, and the Vistula Boulevards, but these three places showed me a more unexpected Kraków one I enjoyed discovering slowly. #krakow #poland

Must try Polish food. Save for your Poland travel trip. I visited Gdansk in Poland for the first time and I loved exploring Polish cuisine. Here are the best traditional Polish foods you have to try if you visit Poland: Oscypek – Poland’s iconic smoked cheese, grilled and paired with cranberry sauce. A Polish street food staple! I tried this at Gdansk Christmas market. Kopyłka or Polish potato dumplings - I tried these at a Polish restaurant that specialises in potatoes, served with stewed cabbage and red onion. Zurek soup with Polish white sausage - I tried a modern, quirky take on this traditional Easter food in Poland, where they served a brunch version and I loved it! Pierogi – Traditional Polish dumplings, filled with potato and cheese, topped with sour cream. I recommend trying at a Polish restaurant that specialises in pierogi. Polish Paczki – You can’t visit Poland without trying Polish doughnuts - paczki. I had the traditional paczki filled with rose jam and topped with candied orange peel in Gdańsk. Bar Mleczny or Polish milk bars where you find fuss-free Polish food in a casual, cafeteria style setting. I had a hearty Polish lunch at Bar Turystyczny. Have I missed any must try Polish food? Send this to a friend you want to eat Polish food with!

Think €100 goes the same distance everywhere in Europe? Not even close. The latest Eurostat price-level data shows a huge gap across Europe. In 2025, overall household-consumption prices ranged from about 63% of the EU average in Bulgaria to 140% in Denmark. So what does your €100 feel like on the ground? 🇧🇬 BULGARIA — €100 feels BIG 🍽️ Several affordable meals ☕ Cafés + snacks 🚇 Public transport 🏛️ Sightseeing 🛍️ Room left for shopping 🇷🇴 ROMANIA — GREAT VALUE 🍲 Local restaurants ☕ Coffee & pastries 🚆 Affordable transport 🏛️ Museums + attractions 🍷 Plenty left for experiences 🇵🇱 POLAND — BUDGET-FRIENDLY 🍽️ Multiple meals 🚋 Transport around the city ☕ Cafés 🏰 Attractions 🛍️ Local shopping 🇵🇹 PORTUGAL — STILL GOOD VALUE 🥐 Breakfast 🍽️ Lunch or dinner ☕ Coffee stops 🚋 Transport 🌊 A few paid experiences 🇪🇸 SPAIN — COMFORTABLE, BUT CITY MATTERS 🥘 Tapas / casual meals ☕ Coffee & drinks 🚇 Metro or buses 🏛️ Attractions 🍦 Treats along the way 🇮🇹 ITALY — €100 CAN DISAPPEAR FAST 🍕 A couple of meals ☕ Espresso breaks 🚆 Local transport 🍨 Gelato 🏛️ Maybe an attraction or two 🇫🇷 FRANCE — WATCH THE EXTRAS 🥐 Breakfast 🍽️ Casual dining 🚇 Transport ☕ Café stops 🎟️ One or two experiences 🇩🇰 DENMARK — €100 DOESN’T GO FAR ☕ A few coffees 🍽️ One or two meals 🚇 Transport 🎟️ An attraction …and your wallet is already asking questions. 😅 💡 THE BIG TAKEAWAY Using the EU average as €100, the same representative basket of household goods and services would cost roughly: 🇧🇬 Bulgaria → €63 🇷🇴 Romania → €65 🇵🇱 Poland → €73 🇭🇺 Hungary → €77 🇵🇹 Portugal → €87 🇬🇷 Greece → €87 🇪🇸 Spain → €92 🇮🇹 Italy → €97 🇫🇷 France → €110 🇩🇪 Germany → €108 🇦🇹 Austria → €113 🇳🇱 Netherlands → €116 🇸🇪 Sweden → €121 🇱🇺 Luxembourg → €132 🇮🇪 Ireland → €136 🇩🇰 Denmark → €140 ⚠️ Important: these are price-level comparisons, not literal travel budgets. Your actual spending depends heavily on the city, season, accommodation, restaurants and activities. Warsaw surprised me. I expected a historic city, but I found a place that felt much more modern, lively, and creative than I had imagined. 1. Wander through the Old Town I started at Castle Square and walked toward the colorful Old Town Market Square. The rebuilt historic buildings were beautiful, and I enjoyed taking my time instead of rushing between landmarks. I also visited the Royal Castle, which gave me a better understanding of Warsaw’s complicated past. 2. Take a walk through history The POLIN Museum was one of the most meaningful stops of my trip. Later, I walked around the Warsaw Uprising Museum, which helped me understand just how much the city had endured. It wasn’t the lightest afternoon, but I’m glad I went. 3. See Warsaw from above I ended one day at the Palace of Culture and Science, taking the elevator up for a panoramic view. From there, I could see the contrast between old neighborhoods, modern skyscrapers, and green spaces. I also spent time in Łazienki Park, where the gardens and palace offered a much quieter side of the city. What stayed with me was Warsaw’s resilience. It doesn’t hide its history, but it also doesn’t let the past define everything. That’s what made exploring it so memorable. #warsaw #poland

📍Where it is: Poland, on the Baltic Sea coast, Pomeranian Voivodeship. The city lies on the Motława River, near the Gulf of Gdańsk. ⭐️Why you should come: 🧩Architecture like Amsterdam: The Long Market, the Neptune Fountain, and the largest brick church in the world St. Mary's Basilica. 🧩History at every turn: World War II began here, and later the Solidarity movement was born here a movement that changed Europe. 🧩Sea and beaches: Nearby is the seaside resort of Sopot with its golden sand and famous wooden pier, just a short train ride away. 🧩Food: Pierogi dumplings, marinated herring, and the legendary Złota Woda liqueur. ☀️Best time to visit: May–June and September–October. In winter the Christmas market and a cosy, magical atmosphere. 🏛️ Note: Gdańsk isn't for ticking boxes. Krakow was one of those cities where I quickly realized I didn’t need a packed schedule. Three experiences stood out for me, and together they gave me a great feel for the city. 1. Get lost in the Old Town. I started around Main Market Square, then wandered toward St. Mary’s Basilica and through the little streets surrounding it. Later, I walked up to Wawel Castle and sat near the Vistula River for a while. The best part was not having anywhere else to be. 2. Spend an afternoon in Kazimierz. The historic Jewish district became my favorite neighborhood. I explored small cafés, street art, old courtyards, and eventually stopped for pierogi at a local restaurant. The atmosphere felt much more relaxed than the busy center. 3. Take a day trip underground. I visited the Wieliczka Salt Mine, and it was far more impressive than I expected. Walking through enormous underground chambers and seeing sculptures carved from salt felt completely different from anything else I’d done in Krakow. I also found time for Planty Park and the Vistula Boulevards, which were perfect for slowing down. Krakow doesn’t require rushing. Walk, eat, explore, and leave room for the unexpected. That’s when I enjoyed it most. #krakow #poland

A massively underrated and stunning European old town! 🇵🇱 Arriving in Gdańsk, Poland, the moment you step out of the alley, you'll be blown away by the breathtaking Flemish-style architecture of the Long Market (Długi Targ). Despite being ravaged by war, the Polish people managed to perfectly reconstruct this Renaissance-era splendor using historical documents. Even though the weather was on the gloomy side, the Peroni umbrellas at the outdoor cafe downstairs and those overflowing blooms of red flowers instantly brought out that ultimate laid-back European street vibe! 💡 Right next to it is the gorgeous Neptune's Fountain. If you're visiting Poland, you absolutely must add this northern gem to your itinerary!

Europe isn’t expensive 👇🏻 You’re just going to the wrong cities. Most people think Europe costs €100+ a day because they visit places like London, Paris, or Rome. But cities like Budapest, Skopje, Belgrade, Warsaw, Sarajevo, Tirana, and Bucharest can cost €25–€40 a day if you travel smart. Accommodation is cheaper, food is cheaper, and many attractions cost much less. Hostels can be €10–€20, local meals are only a few euros, and there are plenty of free or cheap things to do. One reason these cities are cheaper is because average salaries are lower in these countries, so the cost of living is lower overall. That’s the reality behind the lower prices. But for travelers, it means you can experience beautiful historic cities, great food, and a lot of culture without spending a fortune. Many of these places are also clean, safe, and far less crowded than the famous Western European capitals. Sometimes the best way to travel Europe is simply to go a little further east (as you expect from me). #europe #cheaptravel #budgettravel #europetravel #easterneurope

I booked three days. I stayed a week. Kraków does that. It's not just the Main Square and cheap pierogi. It's the weight of history in every cobblestone. It's the fog over the Vistula at dawn. It's the silence in a courtyard that's seen six centuries. Here's how I found the city behind the postcards. 🌫️ 6:45 AM — The Main Square When It Belongs To You Rynek Główny at noon is a human current. At dawn, it's a cathedral of silence. I stood in the middle of Europe's largest medieval square with only pigeons and a street sweeper for company. The Cloth Hall glowed pink. St. Mary's trumpeter played to nobody and everybody. Four notes, cut short. The legend says a Mongol arrow struck his throat in 1241. The city still honors him every hour. This is not tourism. This is time travel. 🆓 Free 📍 @Rynek Główny ⏰ Before 7 AM, or don't bother 🥐 8:00 AM — The Bakery In A Courtyard On Grodzka Street, there's an archway. Walk through it. In the courtyard, a tiny bakery called Piekarnia Mojego Taty has been operating since the 90s. No English menu. No seating. Just a counter and a woman who calls you "kochanie" (darling) while handing you a poppy seed roll so fresh it steams in the cold morning air. I ate it on a stone step in the courtyard. A nun passed by and smiled. 💸 4 PLN (less than 1 EUR) 📍 Courtyard off @Grodzka Street 🕯️ 10:00 AM — Kazimierz Without The Tour Groups Everyone visits Kazimierz, the old Jewish quarter. But most stay on Szeroka Street. Walk deeper. Find the courtyard at Józefa 12. It's a ruin and a gallery at the same time. Fragments of Hebrew inscriptions on the walls. An old synagogue door that leads nowhere. Artists' studios tucked behind rusted gates. The ground is uneven. The air feels different here. Heavier. Sacred. I sat on a broken step and didn't take a single photo. Some things don't need proof. 🆓 Free 📍 Józefa 12, @Kazimierz 🥟 1:30 PM — Pierogi In A Living Room Forget the pierogi chains on the square. A local told me about Bar Smak. It's basically someone's ground-floor apartment turned into an eatery. Six tables. Lace curtains. A grandmother in the kitchen rolling dough by hand. I ordered pierogi ruskie and a glass of kompot. The bill came and I laughed out loud. I've paid more for a coffee at an airport. 💸 18 PLN for a full meal 📍 @Bar Smak ⏰ They close when the dough runs out 📖 3:00 PM — The Bookshop In A Former Synagogue On Meiselsa Street, there's a bookshop called Austeria. It occupies the ground floor of a former prayer house. The ceiling still has Hebrew stucco work. The shelves groan with books on Jewish history, Polish poetry, and Eastern European philosophy. I bought a collection of Zagajewski poems. The owner wrapped it in brown paper and string. "This one is special," he said. He was right. 💸 Books from 25 PLN 📍 @Austeria Bookshop 🎶 7:00 PM — The Cellar Jazz Club Kraków has a jazz tradition that runs deep. Skip the bars on the square. Go to U Muniaka, a cellar club named after a legendary Polish saxophonist. It's down a narrow staircase. The walls are brick. The lights are low. The musicians are old enough to have played under communism. They don't perform. They converse through instruments. The audience doesn't talk. Just listens. Just feels. 💸 30 PLN entry 📍 @U Muniaka Jazz Club 🌙 10:00 PM — The Dragon's Lair Without The Crowds The Wawel Dragon statue breathes fire every few minutes. By day, children climb it. By night, the riverbank below Wawel Castle is empty. I walked down to the Vistula. The castle was lit up and reflected perfectly in still water. A barge bar played soft music in the distance. The dragon breathed fire. I was the only one watching. 🆓 Free 📍 Riverbank below @Wawel Castle 🏨 Where I Slept (And Felt Like A Poet) Hotel Copernicus — a 14th-century building on Kanonicza Street, the oldest street in Kraków. Frescoes on the ceiling. A courtyard with climbing ivy. My room had a window seat that overlooked the street where Pope John Paul II once lived. Booked on Trip.com. I wrote in my journal for hours. 💸 ~120 EUR/night via Trip.com 💡 Five Things That Matter In Kraków · Cash is still king in small places. Keep coins on you. · The Wieliczka Salt Mine is stunning, but go with the first morning tour. After 11 AM, it's unbearable. · Trip.com eSIM worked perfectly, including the train ride to Auschwitz. · When entering churches, cover your shoulders. It's not a suggestion. · Learn one phrase: "dziękuję" (thank you). Say it often. It lands differently here. Kraków doesn't shout. It whispers. And if you listen carefully, it tells you stories that rearrange something inside you. I'm still processing what it did to me. Poland wins 🥇 I’ve been traveling (just) Europe for three years now, so I think I can have a pretty well balanced take on what countries are good and bad. And the best country in Europe for me… is Poland 🇵🇱! Why I think that you can see in the video. Poland is full of fantastic cities, but my favorite one are: 1. Warsaw, 2. Wroclaw, 3. Gdansk, 4. Poznan, and 5. Krakow. Also, the food is very underrated. Pierogi is a classic of course, but the best food is not necessarily one dish. You have to eat at a, so called, milkbar. Traditional canteen restaurants that serve home style Polish food. Anyways, go see for yourself! I’m definitely going back soon, so meet you there! #travel #europetravel #europe #poland #polska

Krakow caught me off guard. I expected beautiful architecture, but I didn’t expect to enjoy simply wandering around the city as much as I did. I started in Krakow Old Town, spending my first morning around Main Market Square. The colorful buildings, horse carriages, cafés, and street performers made it easy to stay longer than planned. From there, I walked up to Wawel Castle, where I explored the courtyards before stopping to admire the view over the Vistula River. Later, I crossed into Kazimierz, the historic Jewish district, which quickly became one of my favorite areas for its small restaurants, vintage shops, and relaxed atmosphere. I also visited St. Mary’s Basilica, especially enjoying the interior and the famous trumpet call from its tower. For a quieter afternoon, I wandered through Planty Park, the green belt surrounding the Old Town. One of the most memorable day trips was to Wieliczka Salt Mine, where underground chambers and enormous salt sculptures made the experience feel completely different from anything else on the trip. Krakow has history everywhere, but it never felt like a museum. It felt lived in, youthful, and easygoing. I arrived thinking a few days would be enough. By the end, I was already looking for reasons to stay longer. #krakow #poland

Biggest Culture Shocks for a Westerner in Poland 🇵🇱 Poland is one of the best countries in Europe! Here are some of the culture shocks I experience firsthand as a westerner in Poland. 1. Cafés leave their chairs and tables outside after closing. Poland is so safe that they can do this. No one would steal or destroy them. 2. Everything is closed on Sunday. Poland is a Christian country, so don’t expect to be able to go shopping on Sunday. Only the Zabkas are open I believe… 3. Zabka every 10 meter. The Polish version of 7/11 I guess. Zabkas are mini grocery stores where you can buy basically anything you need. The hotdogs are great though, starts with those! 4. The streets are super clean. No one litters in Poland, at least, not to my knowledge. Especially in Warsaw you can eat of the streets. 5. Completely incomprehensible language. Yeah… The only Polish that I know is (and I’m gonna spell it how I think it’s spelled); Dziekuje, Dzien Dobry, and Jednego hotdog, prosze. 6. People still form communities. In Poland people get together in the park on a summer’s day to chat and listen to classical music. When you come to Poland as a traveler, it’s a wonderful vibe to go along with. 7. Polish pride. The Poles are very proud of their country. That’s something I’d say we can learn from in the West. #poland #polska #warsaw #travel #europetravel

Poland, like many other European countries, boasts great weather, and plenty of attractions, including historic squares, majestic cathedrals, and fascinating salt mines, and meat and fresh fruits are incredibly cheap! In fact, it's famous for having some of the lowest living costs in all of Europe! Let me introduce you to a beautiful square and a vibrant local market, both within easy walking distance in the city center. ^^ 🏛️ The Largest in Europe: Krakow's Main Market Square (Rynek Główny) The Main Market Square is the true highlight of Krakow, boasting **the largest area of any medieval square in Europe (approx. 40,000 ㎡)**. The original 13th-century city layout has been perfectly preserved, earning the entire square a spot on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Cloth Hall (Sukiennice): Situated right in the center of the square, this is considered the world's first shopping mall. To this day, the ground floor is bustling with vendors selling a variety of handicrafts and souvenirs. St. Mary's Basilica: A stunning Gothic cathedral famous for the trumpet call (Hejnał) played from its highest tower at the top of every hour. 🧺 Experience True Local Life: Stary Kleparz Market Located just north of the Old Town, Stary Kleparz is Krakow's oldest traditional market, dating all the way back to the 14th century. It’s the perfect place to shop for fresh, affordable groceries at authentic local prices—no tourist traps here! 💡 Market Perks & Shopping Tips 1. Incredibly Cheap Groceries: Compared to Western Europe, the prices here are a steal! You can easily treat yourself to fresh seasonal fruits, veggies, artisan cheeses, and freshly baked bread without breaking the bank. 2. Must-Buy Souvenir: Sheep Milk Cheese: You absolutely have to try **Oscypek**, a traditional smoked sheep milk cheese from the Tatra Mountains in southern Poland. It has a wonderfully savory, smoky flavor. It's fantastic grilled on the spot with a dollop of cranberry jam, or perfectly packaged to take home as a gift. 3. Recommended Shopping List: Oscypek cheese and other artisanal sheep/goat dairy products Premium Polish natural honey Kabanos (traditional thin Polish sausages)
