Beautiful location with breathtaking views. Kalesi is a definite must see if you are visiting Alanya! Kalesi literally means “a castle”, a fortress in Turkish. It is located in the very center of the city and tourists no need to go far - the roads will lead to its walls during one of the walks around the city. Kalesi is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Alanya. The castle on the mountain can be seen from Cleopatra Beach. I recommend to go to the observation desk to see breathtaking views from up. On the way back, it is interesting to walk around the mountain village, going down the road with spectacular views. I travelled to Avsallar Turkey to visit my mom but ended up blown away by its beauty and surroundings. Only having 5 days in this city, I was able to see and do so much. I explored 4 different beaches in 4 different cities. Walked around many streets in Manavagat and Alanya. Visited many markets and tried some cultural food. Driven to tops of mountains and viewed some spectacular views. And even went to a castle! Truly Turkey is worth visiting!

Being me, I had to take the winding cobblestone path to the castle, and I didn't regret it. It was filled with amazing views and unique sights that you wouldn't have just walking on the road. You end up going around the walls and seeing all the hidden ruins that most tourists miss. If you're lucky, you'll also find a friendly cat and meet some chickens on the way up. Don't forget to stop and smell the flowers.
