JB is small town and not far from Singapore. You can wall around old town, Chain town and India town around 1-2 hours because it small but very nice. Week day every quiet shop open normally. Weekend crowed. This town lots of food. Legoland few people,toy is shot queue. Big box xcess not far from Legoland is you want to bye book and take photo you can go.#johorbaru

#favouriteitinerary Arulmigu Rajamariamman Devasthanam, located in the heart of Johor Bahru, Malaysia, is a prominent Hindu temple with rich cultural significance. Originally named Mariamman Temple, it was founded by Mr. Kootha Perumal Vandayar. In 1985, the temple was renamed to honor the contributions of the Sultan of Johor. The temple is a remarkable example of Dravidian architecture, characterized by its intricate designs and vibrant colors. A standout feature is the Rajagopuram, a towering 75-foot tall, five-tiered gateway adorned with gold-plated kalasams (sacred pots) and beautifully sculpted dolls, making it a striking landmark. Visitors to the temple are encouraged to dress respectfully, adhering to a modest dress code that excludes sleeveless tops and short clothing. As a significant cultural and national heritage site, Arulmigu Rajamariamman Devasthanam not only serves as a place of worship but also as a testament to the artistic and architectural heritage of the region.

#malaysiatrip Visited in March as part of my walking tour of the city. Arulmigu Rajamariamman Devasthanam is a typical South Indian Hindu temple smack bang in the centre of Johor Bahru. As South Indian temples go, this is fairly typical. There’s a large and colourful gopuram roof at the entrance. In all honesty, if you’ve seen South Indian style temples before, this is no different. The one thing that was different was being asked to wash my feet upon entering the temple in addition to taking my shoes off. An interesting and nice feature of the temple are the relief sculptures around the inside of the temple that also include explanatory notes about what’s being depicted. Other sculptures of Hindu deities have their name printed below, which is a great way to identify the characters. So an extra star for that.

#bucketlistreboot Location: Jalan Ungku Puan, Bandar Johor Bahru, 80000 Johor Bahru, Johor The stretch of Little India in Johor Bahru starts from just opposite Galleria@Kotaraya shopping mall and it runs all the way down towards the hindu temple and the other side all the way to the jewellery shops. There are also numerous indian restaurants here serving all types of indian delicacies from thosai to full set rice meals. I particularly enjoyed the beautiful flower shops just below the Hindu temple (Arulmigu Rajamariamman Devasthanam) as you can admire the colourful array of beautiful flowers and garlands. These are usually bought and presented to the deities in the temple. Walking down the other lane I enjoyed looking at all the local produce and indian sweets freshly made.
