Hallasan Mountain Guide
Recommended Route: Eorimok ↑ - Yeongsil ↓ (No Reservation/Route Required)
The first section of the Eorimok route is mainly forest and steps, with a fast climb and relatively monotonous scenery, but you must persevere. Once you get out of the dense forest, you will feel that the hard work in the first part is worth it, with forests, springs, and alpine meadows. From the observation deck, you can see the distant city and the sea!
After reaching the shelter at the end of the Eorimok route, follow the signs to choose the Yeongsil direction to descend. The descent is mainly on rocky roads with a steep slope, which can be slippery - wear non-slip shoes. The scenery on the way down may include clouds passing by, which is truly beautiful.

Highlights of Jeju Trip
Baengnokdam, Hallasan Summit
We climbed up via Gwaneumsa and descended via Seongpanak. For those visiting in winter, it's recommended to start as soon as the gates open at dawn. Although it might be dark initially, it will soon get brighter. Starting early allows you to take breaks or spend more time at the summit leisurely. While descending, our legs were exhausted, so we took long breaks and explored various spots, which made us come down quite late, but we still managed to make it before the closing time.
The weather at Baengnokdam changes frequently, so don't be disappointed if you can't see the pond immediately. The clouds might clear up soon, giving you a view of the pond.
