Located in the center of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Chen's Academy is a century-old ancestral hall that combines the Lingnan architectural style with the characteristics of Nanyang culture. It is also an important symbol of the cultural heritage of overseas Chinese. Its architecture is modeled after the Chen's Academy in Guangzhou and is built in the style of Lingnan architecture. Although it is small in scale, it is still exquisite. The stone materials of the academy were shipped from southern China, and many fine components were also purchased in Guangzhou. Some of the pottery decorations were made by the well-known Wu Qi Yu Shop in Shiwan, Guangdong. There are pottery sculptures of Shou Gong, Eight Immortals and other figures on the roof, and there are exquisite reliefs on the walls, as well as wavy gables, which are of great artistic value. The academy was originally a place for worship, education and socializing for the Chen clan, and has now become a national cultural heritage of Malaysia. Today, Chen's Academy is open to the public free of charge, and visitors can appreciate its carved beams and painted buildings, painted pottery sculptures and traditional courtyard layout.
