Memorial Building in Taipei
#timetotravel
Beautiful memorial building in Taipei that is free of charge.
I visited in late July and it was very hot and humid, so I did not spend that much time outdoor exploring.
As I am writing this post, I found out that every hour there would be changing of guards. It is such a shame that I had missed it…
Because of the heat, I spent more time indoor at the level one gallery since it is air conditioned. Exhibits are all related to human rights and Taiwan’s history and some contain political messages.

Iconic Place to visit!
The Place (Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall) that you shouldn’t miss in Taipei, Taiwan! I was so astonished at the intricate details of the building. The entire complex is very clean and beautiful. Come before 12 noon to witness the changing of the guards and get a close up view of the monument. There is also a wide garden beside the monument. You can enjoy taking pictures and enjoy sightseeing 🩵
It’s worth it! Highly recommended! #taipeitravel

The Memorial Hall is white with four sides. The roof is blue and octagonal, a shape that picks up the symbolism of the number eight, a number traditionally associated in China with abundance and good fortune. Two sets of white stairs, each with 89 steps to represent Chiang's age at the time of his death, lead to the main entrance. The ground level of the memorial houses a library and a museum documenting Chiang Kai-shek's life and career, with exhibits detailing Taiwan's history and development. The upper level contains the main hall, in which a large statue of Chiang Kai-shek is located, and where a guard mounting ceremony takes place at regular intervals.

Nice place to view Sakuras
Conveniently connected by MRT, this park is a great place for a morning walk in the city.
The park is quite large . There is a garden tuck at a corner of this place where there are many sakuras in full bloom when we were here. We also see many locals walking around the park taking photos of all the flowers and sakuras.
It is interesting to know that this is one of the famous sakura viewing in the city.

The Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall resembles the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC. The Park, however, is quite unique. It is a park in traditional Chinese style. Apart from the gardens, it has a wall with Chinese windows. You will often see elderly Chinese men with caged songbirds. It's quite common to see old men playing traditional Chinese musical insruments together. By the way, the basement area of the CKS Hall has some interesting souvenir shops and some traditional Chinese restaurants. #taiwan #traveladdict #beautifuldestinations #travelinspiration #traveler

What a great memorial hall park secluded in the middle of an ever busy city. The center piece of the hall is flanked by two traditional Chinese building structures.

Night visit @ Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall
If you googled "places to visit in taipei", the National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall will definitely be one of the top place that is recommended.
Most of the time, people tend to visit this place in the morning as that's when you can visit inside the hall. However, I had the chance to visit it during the night and it was a total different experience as compared to when I came in the day. The area is brightly lited up and it gives off a very romantic vibe. There isn't much tourist around too.
I actually recommend you to come visit it in the night if you want to enjoy a more peaceful and romantic view of this area.

Chiang Kai-shek Memorial is an absolute must-go place in Taiwan. You just can’t miss this symbolic place. Entrance is for free.
Tip: It’s really hot to visit this place at this time. It was a mistake of mine to not consider the hotness of the weather. I suggest that you visit this place around 4pm. Perhaps visit this after the Taipei 101 below.

Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall... Taipei.
The scale of the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is truly immense.
I came here for a walk after dinner.
As soon as I entered after the rain, I was greeted with the fragrant scent of flowers, which made me feel purified.
I had the bizarre experience of encountering a turtle crawling across the plaza, which may have been a coincidence.
When I finally approached the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall along the park path, I couldn't help but feel its enormity.
The lighting of the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall at night and the colors of the building against the night sky were grand, splendid, and beautiful. I can't forget the night air and colors.

Went to the Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall and was amazed by the majestic buildings and architecture. There was even a museum there to introduce and give visitors a good idea of the rich history and background behind the building. If you have time, even if you are not a history buff, you should visit the memorial hall and take a lot of good photos there.
I want to visit Hong Kong for all the good food like dim sum and roast meat that I can eat at the various eateries around the city.

Taipei's Scorching Heritage - Must see Taipei
Approaching the National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall in the scorching Taipei heat, we eagerly joined the crowd for the Changing of the Guard Ceremony. The midday sun bore down as the ceremonial drum echoed, initiating a mesmerizing display of discipline and precision.
Amidst the sweltering temperatures, we marveled at the guards' unwavering focus and the meticulous execution of each move. Their uniforms, steeped in historical significance, added an air of reverence to the ceremony. As the new guards seamlessly took their positions, we couldn't help but admire the seamless transition of duty and the embodiment of Taiwan's rich history.
This daytime rendition of the Changing of the Guard Ceremony showcased not only a historical tribute but also the dedicated discipline of those entrusted with guarding the nation's heritage. It left us with a profound appreciation for the cultural significance and unwavering commitment displayed under the blazing Taipei sun—an experience that stands as a must-see testament to Taiwan's history and the remarkable discipline of its guardians.#taipei #taiwan #citytrip #memorial

Chiang Kai Shek Memorial
As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, there isn't a specific museum solely dedicated to Chiang Kai-shek. However, the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall in Taipei, Taiwan, serves as a monument and museum honoring the former President of the Republic of China. The hall is an iconic structure with a large statue of Chiang Kai-shek, surrounded by a park, and it includes a museum that provides insights into his life and the history of Taiwan during his leadership. Please check for any updates or new developments regarding a dedicated Chiang Kai-shek museum after my last update.

The Zhongzheng Memorial Hall
#2024wish
Chiang Kai Shek was the succesor of Kuomintang after the decease of Dr Sun Yat Sen. This Memorial Hall was erected in remembrance of him and his contribution. There are Opera and Music Halls located at both sides of the memorial hall, and a massive square and tablet pillar at the entrance of the square, also known as the Freedon Square. The night view is spectacular and also the best place to take night scene picture in town. Alight at Zhongzheng Memorial Hall station to reach the square.
In 2024, I wish to visit Taipei again.
