Mae Wong National Park, Chong Yen
Klong Yen, km. 93, is 28 kilometers from the park office. It is the highest point of the Khlong Lan-Umphang road, 1,340 meters above sea level. There is always a breeze and fog covering the area. The weather is cold all year round and it is another beautiful place to watch the sunset. The average temperature is below 20 degrees Celsius all year round. Because this area is a mountain pass with constant breezes, it is called "Klong Yen" according to the climate of this area. Because Klong Yen has a cool and humid climate, there are many plants that like moisture in this area, such as orchids, ferns, and black ferns. In addition, Klong Yen is also home to many types of birds, making it an important bird watching spot in Thailand. There are bungalows and tents in Klong Yen, but you must bring your own equipment: plastic sheets, jackets, insect repellent lotion, and bags to take your trash down because Klong Yen cannot dispose of trash. Lanterns or flashlights are available because electricity is available from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Klong Yen also has a beautiful sunrise viewpoint, Pha Sawan Viewpoint, where you can see a 360-degree view.
