People come out to walk, exercise, sing, dance, find food and have a picnic in a relaxing way. Yes, this is Tam Sui Riverside, a riverside park with good air in New Taipei. In addition to having a public area for enjoying the breeze and the view, this area is also a place to study nature, weather and ecosystems. There are many museums. For cyclists, rent a bicycle and cycle from the MRT station to explore around for about 2-3 hours. For those who love to eat, taste and take photos, there is an Old Street here. There are beautiful photo spots along the water. There is a small lighthouse with a river, mountains and tall buildings as a backdrop. Many people from Taipei escape the hustle and bustle to relax here because it is convenient to travel. Take the red line train to the end of the line. As for me, just walking to see the view from the pier to the MRT station is dark. The weather is hazy these days. It gets dark early. Take the train back to your accommodation and find something to eat near the hotel. Don't forget to travel along the red line. Soak in the hot springs at Beitou, pray at Tianyuan, and then sit and enjoy the sea breeze by the water at Tamsui. You can do everything in one day.

If you like cycling and don’t want your day to be too tiring, Xindian 新店 to Tamsui 淡水cycling route along the riverbank is perfect for everyone who wants some outdoor exercise and beautiful views at the same time. (You can rent YouBike anywhere in New Taipei City and Taipei City.) Itinerary 📍Sun Park at Xindian to Dadaocheng I always start my trip with my friend at 10a.m. and take a break at Dadaocheng大稻埕. There are a lot of shops there, and we can have some snacks while watching beautiful lake view. 📍Arrival at Tamsui & Tamsui Old Street We arrived at around 2:30p.m. Tamsui old street is famous for its variety of food. I like to enjoy the local food A-gei 阿給 made with tofu and bean threads with special sauce. I also like to drink the plum juice there. 📍Pink sunset on the boat to Bali 八里🌅 After walking the old street, it’s around the time of sunset. It is the perfect time and perfect place to watch the sunset on the boat to Bali 八里. During this time, the sky will turn into the perfect pink color, which always marks as a perfect highlight of the trip with friends. At Bali, you can also walk along the river to enjoy the view and have the street snack 兩相好 such as the fried taro donuts. 📍Head back to the old street & go home by MRT Then, you can take the boat again and head back to Tamsui old street to have dinner. I usually go to this special middle eastern store, called Halal Moon Curry House for the vegetable rolls and Veg Samosa.
