Tips for making the most of your can't-miss Danube River cruise in Budapest. * ☽
#TravelTactics #Travel #Hungary
There are many different cruise companies, and it seems that there are about 20 companies operating Danube River cruises🤔
Some cruises can be booked through Japanese optional tour companies, while others can be booked directly from the ship company's website, and the prices vary surprisingly🫢⚡️
I didn't want to make a mistake, so I researched everything, and then two weeks later I boarded a Danube River cruise for an interview, so I'll introduce you to the information I gained from experiencing two different cruises in a short period of time🪸🌙
①Differences in boarding points
Each ship company has its own boarding point, so naturally the meeting and disbanding points are different🌟
Be careful, as you may need to take a taxi or tram to some boarding points⚠️
Even if the journey is fine, your body may be cold after the cruise, so it's safe to choose a cruise that operates at a boarding point close to your hotel🥰
This time we went to the DUNA I chose a cruise company called CRUISES, and the boarding point was very convenient, located 5-6 minutes walk from the Budapest Marriott Hotel where I was staying✨
②Differences in ship design
It depends on how you want to enjoy the cruise, but I just wanted to take pictures of the scenery from the Danube River, and the scenery + people📸
Some ships have a design where the interior is all glass, which can protect you from the wind and cold, but it is not suitable for taking pictures, so choose one based on the season and what you are looking for😌🪻
By the way, I checked the design of the ship from the photos posted on Google Maps and the website✍️
③Differences in ship grade
We went to DUNA One of the reasons we decided on CRUISES was the luxurious sofas lined up on the deck🕊️🤍
Actually, this type is quite rare, and there are often just benches lined up on the outside deck😗
It was a short cruise of about an hour, but I wanted to spend it comfortably and elegantly, so I decided on this ship even though it was more expensive than the average price✨In the end, I was very satisfied🥹🫶🏼
A welcome drink was also included, and more than being happy to be able to drink alcohol, it was also great that the glass was a great prop🤣🥂 lol
I thought about this when I went on another cruise two weeks later...
The cruise ship often traveled closer to the center of the Danube, and at the important photo spot, there was a cruise ship traveling closer to the bank, so I couldn't take a good photo😭
Maybe it was just by chance Maybe... Maybe the difference in the price is due to the difference in the driving lanes 🤔 (The route is mostly the same 🌟)
④ Tips for choosing the time
All cruise companies offer two plans for cruises, daytime and night view, and the daytime plan is cheaper than the night view 🌞
But the best part of the Danube is the night lighting, so I would like you to enjoy the night view, and the most recommended time is when the magic hour starts 🪄🎠
I checked the sunset time on the day of use in advance and chose to start at 6pm, but I was able to enjoy the light, the colorful sky as it was setting, and the sparkling night view in its entirety, and I think it was 2.3 times more worth it than just the complete night view 🌛
⑤ Arrive earlier than the boarding time!! ! ... 🤫🤫🤫
We had to line up outside until boarding time, but we could board on a first-come, first-served basis and choose our preferred seats, so we arrived about 45 minutes early and got in line as the second group✊
While we were waiting in line, we carefully read the route on the website (lol), and then we thought, "Huh? Doesn't it seem like only the seats on the right side of the boat have a good view?" I realized this, and after boarding the boat, I ran straight to the front right side and managed to secure the special seat 🥹✊🫶🏼
If there is a route map, it is a good idea to check whether the seat is on the left or right side ✍️
By the way, I was worried that it would get quite cold around October 11th as the season drew to a close, but they lent each person a thick blanket, and it was really comfortable and elegant 🌿
On the other hand, when I boarded the boat two weeks later, the start time was around 9pm, and even though I was equipped with all the cold weather gear I had, it was just too cold, and I took refuge inside for about half the cruise 🥶❄️
Anyway, the Danube River cruise is a must-try if you go to Budapest, and it was a wonderful time that far exceeded my expectations 🥺🪽
