If you are a Lego fan then you must check out the Lego store at Disneytown in Shanghai! It’s two floors packed with Lego sculptures, Lego games and Lego sets! For ¥999 you can have your picture taken and turned into a Lego set! It was such a cool experience! The first floor has a giant Mulan Lego sculpture that is easily 17 feet tall! it was amazing to see in person! Myself and some friends went to Disney in February 2022 and it was COLD (2 degrees Celsius). Going again during golden week, October 2022, was a nice change with highs of 36 degrees Celsius and we were prepared for the obviously large amount of people who were also making their way to Disney that day. We stayed at the same hotel as last time (Starway hotel) and left the hotel at 6am for our early entrance of 7am. During golden week, prices of Disney tickets were high, but we also bought the early pass in addition to our ticket. This meant at 7am, we were at the very front of the queue to enter Disney and it was worth it! 2 rides on TRON, a ride on Pirates of the Caribbean, a ride on the 7 dwarves mine train and a ride on the rapids , even before the park opened for the public at 8:30am. If you’re with friends or a group, you can also buy the ‘priority access’ pass on the APP, which allows you to pay for individual ride tickets to ‘queue jump’, which is shown in one of the photos above where instead of waiting 65 minutes, we waited 5 (and paid an additional 110¥ per person). In Summer, nearing Halloween, they had themed ‘turkey legs’ and ELSA and ANNA themed ice cream. Our favorite restaurant is still the MARVEL superheroes restaurant by TRON. Disneyland Is a perfect plan to spend a crazy but fun afternoon in Shanghai. This place is not located in down town, however It can be reached easily by taxi or public transport. Get up early for this park as you might want to spend all the afternoon there. It’s a place that is worthy to see both: during day and night time as the lights makes the place look stunning. Bring comfortable walking shoes because you will be likely moving around or standing for quite a long time. Also plenty of water is essential to hydrate constantly as this place feels extreme hot if you visit in summer. We came across moodytiger, a store we had shopped at before, and they had just launched a new limited edition New Year Koi set. The shop assistant introduced four series, and the little one chose the "Red" series, symbolizing good luck from the start of the New Year. With the koi print adding an extra touch of luck, we got a parent-child outfit to catch the good fortune! After trying on the clothes, the little one admired themselves for a while and took photos with the cute store mascots, feeling very happy. Wearing the new clothes, we took lots of photos while playing at Disneytown. We passed through a lantern-lit corridor and stood next to a giant New Year decoration, with the red koi print standing out in the festive atmosphere. In total, I spent CNY 964. 🎒 Must-Haves for Entering the Park Don't forget to bring your ID card, student ID, raincoat, headband, snacks, power bank, and the official Disney app. They're all important! ⏰ Time-Saving Tips (Enter the Park at 8:30 am) Here's a little secret about Disney: there's a no-bag line! A lot of people don't know about it and carry a bag. You can bring a foldable canvas bag or a transparent plastic bag and carry the items you want to bring into the park in your hand. Once you're in the park, you can put your things in your bag. This trick can save you an hour and a half, and you don't even need to buy an early access card!
