A delicious meal for a busy life
In the past two weeks, my bestie and I have been very busy, but no matter how busy we are, we should treat ourselves well, so we set aside one night of free time to have a rich dinner and recharge our batteries.
Japanese Apple Salad $78
I seldom eat salads in Japanese restaurants, but I would like to recommend the salads here. The portion is just right as an appetizer. The bottom layer is covered with salad vegetables, and then topped with a salad made from shredded Japanese green apples, shredded crab sticks, and a small amount of salad dressing, and then plenty of crab roe. After mixing all the ingredients, it is very refreshing and appetizing! The green apples are sweet and juicy, and the salad greens are fresh and refreshing. The two are half and half and are cold enough to make the taste very good. I also have to praise the salad dressing for not putting too much and not covering the taste of the ingredients themselves.
Pond fish king (thin slices) $268
The delicious sashimi recommended by the store is this thinly sliced pond fish king! Each piece is crystal clear and the thickness is uniform. You can see the pattern on the bottom of the dish, which definitely shows the chef's amazing knife skills! The taste of pond fish is relatively light and fresh, so the chef will provide a sour sauce with scallions for customers to dip in. This sauce can really enhance the flavor of the fish and make the fish taste richer. In addition, the pond fish is fresh enough, the meat tastes firm and refreshing, and slightly oily, which is completely satisfying!
Special 10-point ticket $378
Next up is the special ten-course meal prepared by the chef ~ the chef selects the freshest ingredients of the day to make ten types of sushi! The following are what I tried during my visit: sea urchin sushi, grilled fish back sushi, botan shrimp sushi, medium toro sushi, swordfish belly, deep sea pond fish, hamachi, sea bream, black snapper and scallop ~ Each one was fresh, plump, refreshing and sweet! We would like to introduce two types that are not often eaten: Black snapper is grown in various places along the coast of Japan south of Hokkaido, also known as "Hokkaido sea bream". It has a firm texture and low oil content, and its taste is light and quite good! On the contrary, the texture of the sea bream is chewy, crispy and sweet. This fish comes from the waters of southern Japan and is most commonly found in Okinawa. It is one of the three high-quality fish in Okinawa!
Karoyaki $98
My girlfriend loves to eat Koroyaki, so she specially ordered this one! The presentation is exquisite and mouth-watering: the crab shell is filled with snow crab roe and sweet crab meat seasoned with miso, grilled, topped with chives and quail egg yolks, and served to the customers together with toast! Mix all the ingredients before eating and spread them on the toast. The taste is very rich, the crab paste is sweet and has a hint of sake aroma. It is not too salty and the seasoning is also very good. You can also taste the crab meat, which makes people unable to stop eating.
Miso-cooked beef tongue $68
I like eating beef tongue very much. The store uses miso to stew beef tongue and white radish together. The aroma and taste of miso are well absorbed by the two ingredients. The beef tongue is cut into large pieces, but it is stewed until it is soft and full of meaty aroma. The radish is the essence of the whole dish. The radish is sweet and tender, full of beef tongue flavor and miso aroma. It would be better if there is a bowl of white rice to accompany the meal.
This is my second visit to the store. I have visited the Tsuen Wan store before. This time I came to the Tsim Sha Tsui store. My first impression was that it is much bigger than the Tsuen Wan store because it has three floors. Although each floor is too large, it also has a bar and general seats. It is a very comfortable space to chat and eat. One side even has floor-to-ceiling windows, so you can overlook the scenery outside during the day. The sense of space is good!
Friends who have patronized this restaurant must have been impressed by the store’s sea urchin rice. I am no exception. This time when I visited the Tsim Sha Tsui store, many customers ordered this dish. In fact, the store’s other dishes are equally delicious! But remember to make an appointment before visiting this store, because even on weekdays, it is always full.
