Many scholars, upper echelon and artists of the early 20th century lived or vacationed on this tiny island that is unique to other parts of China. The architecture and gardens and infrastructure of the island have both Western and Eastern influences, in a time where art, culture and ideology were rampant.

Xiamen, a lovely place to visit. Good food, cultural experiences, modern and historical buildings all in one. Beautiful city to get around and plenty to do and shop. I love my experience here.
