Accommodations in Sanya are mainly distributed across four bays. If you want to stay in high-end hotels and experience a holiday vibe, go to Haitang Bay; hotels in Yalong Bay offer luxury sea view rooms; if you're on a budget, Dadonghai and Yalong Bay are close to the city center, with convenient transportation and easy access to food and entertainment! 5. If you're short on time, visiting either West Island or Wuzhizhou Island is enough. We decided to book the newly refurbished Fairmont on Haitang Bay. We couldn’t have been more delighted! Even Before we arrived, the hotel had arranged for some special drinks that I requested. On arrival, we were taken straight to our room and had check in there! it’s was great to not do this at reception. We had a great greeting from all the staff and it really gave us a personalised feeling. One thing that separates this hotel is it’s staff! well trained and super friendly, efficient and professional. Everyday it seemed like they just wanted to make our experience superb. The facilities are very good with an excellent gold lounge which serves afternoon tea, happy hour 5/7 (food and drinks), and a quieter breakfast area. the main breakfast area has lots of different seating both inside and out. The lobby bar is great for an evening drink with live music. There is a small gym and kids play area and clubs. The pool is a good size and has kids section, we asked to move some sun beds to avoid the busier parts of the pool and the staff were super helpful. We requested sun beds for the beach too. The beach is a very short walk down a grassed area which has sun loungers too. The view from the beach is amazing and the water is so warm and clear! The rooms are great with a lovely bath outside which they will run for you whilst you are out at dinner! it was amazing to come back to the room and sit outside in the bath relaxing! One of the reasons we will go back is because if we had a small issue or wanted something special, they went out of their way to do it. For this May Day holiday family trip to Sanya, the first hotel we stayed at was a newly opened hotel in 2024. Two nights during the holiday cost less than 1200 RMB, a great deal for budget-conscious vacationers 🥳 · 🚩Location: Behind Sunshine City in Haitang Bay. Although it doesn’t face the sea directly, there is a shuttle electric cart from the lobby that takes you to Sunshine City in 3 minutes, then you can walk through an underground passage to the beach, about a 10-minute trip in total (see route in photo 17). 🌳Public Areas: I really like the public areas here, lush and pleasing to the eye 😻 I recorded a video and will upload it later (photos 11-15). 🛏️Rooms: Starting at 48㎡, each room has a balcony. I booked a deluxe king room with a 2-meter-wide bed plus a pull-out sofa bed, very spacious for a family of three! The front desk gave me a pool-view room on the 2nd floor with a great view. When the balcony door is closed, you can’t hear the sounds of people playing in the water outside. BUT⚠️ the bathroom and bedroom are only separated by a screen, which is semi-transparent and lets light through, so if the child is still sleeping, it’s inconvenient for adults to use the bathroom (photo 3). 🤝Services: Mini bar on the first day, 24-hour laundry and gym, hotel photo shoot with 5 photos + 15-second video, free borrowing of swim rings and sand digging tools, free family activities and playground… all included!! 🍹Dining: Breakfast is from 7:00 to 10:30.
