I went to the Handa Red Brick Building in Handa City, next to Nagoya. This brick building, built in 1898 as a Kabuto beer factory, is a historic building designated as a national registered tangible cultural property and modern industrial heritage site. Inside the building, there are exhibits introducing the history of Kabuto beer, as well as a restaurant where you can enjoy a reproduced Kabuto beer and a meal. The Handa Red Brick Building is a former beer factory with extremely unique architectural structures, such as hollow compound walls and multi-arched floors, which are rarely seen today. The designer was Tsumaki Yorinaka, one of the three great masters of architecture in the Meiji era.
