Gingko leaves 🍂 in Beijing
#fallingseason
Late October is the best time to see the autumn colors of the ginkgo trees in Hongluo temple in Huairou. It’s an experience to see the temple area itself but the temple is also surrounded by mountains so you can go for a hike as well.
Autumn season have amazing colors and the highlight this time was the duo ginkgoes in the yard after visiting the Hall of heavenly kings. The trees are said to be standing here for over 1000 years and are about 30 meters tall.
📍 we took the express bus 916 from Dongzhimen station to Huairou bus station, then we took a DiDi from there

Hongluo Temple
Get ready to walk your way up to the mountain. The view from the top is just amazing. The place is also a good place to walk around and have a picnic with family and friends.

Hongluo Temple, it is said that the child is the most effective, haha, the most romantic thing to climb is to have a child together.
The temple was built in the four years of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (AD 338), formerly known as "Da Ming Temple" (the Ming Dynasty orthodox year renamed "protecting the state of Fufu Temple", because of the beautiful legend of the red snail fairy, commonly known as "red Luo Temple").
Hongluo Temple is facing the south and is built according to the mountain. The layout is rigorous and imposing. It is backed by Hongluo Mountain, Nanzhao Hongluo Lake, mountain ring water, forest trees, ancient trees towering.
Hongluo Temple is located in the thousands of acres of green pine forest in front of the Hongluo Mountain, forming a beautiful picture of the "Bibo Tibetan Ancient Temple".
Undoubtedly, one of the most exquisite temples in Beijing! It is said that wishes made by women here are extraordinarily efficacious!
I hereby declare—Hongluo Temple is the most exquisite temple in all of Beijing! There is simply no comparison!
Previously, when one mentioned Hongluo Temple, the mind would instantly conjure images of the vast expanse of red leaves in late autumn and the two ancient golden ginkgo trees.
However, during my inaugural summer visit, I was utterly astounded by the photographic aesthetics hidden within the temple~
Who could have imagined, a vibrant wall of bougainvillea blossoming in the heart of the temple, one might mistake it for a classical Chinese garden if not informed otherwise.
Bougainvillea is a rare sight in the northern regions, especially such a grand waterfall of bougainvillea flowers, it is truly a unique spectacle in Beijing.
The blooming period of bougainvillea in Hongluo Temple is quite long, almost visible throughout the four seasons.
The tranquil bamboo grove, the delicate flowers, and the verdant lawn, every snapshot is a potential masterpiece!
During the current season, the most beautiful and soft light for photography on the flower wall is after 16:00 in the afternoon.
I recommend that you can first visit the temple for blessings, and after 16:00, when there are fewer tourists, it's the perfect time to return to the flower wall for photography.
Ladies can also bring various props, such as classical Chinese fans and paper umbrellas; modern style camping chairs, bouquets, and straw hats are also a great match~
There is an old saying in Beijing: "Men to Yonghe and women to Hongluo", meaning men go to Yonghe Palace for blessings, and women go to Hongluo Temple for blessings.
This saying is quite famous in Beijing's Buddhist prayer culture, especially as it is said that praying for marriage and children at Hongluo Temple is particularly effective~
Whether the legend is true or not, women will have to try for themselves, but I can assure you, it's guaranteed that girls can take beautiful photos at Hongluo Temple!

Beijing Hongluo Temple | The Wishing Temple
Hongluo Temple is a Buddhist temple from the Jin Dynasty located at the southern foot of Hongluo Mountain, 3 kilometers north of Huairou District in Beijing, 55 kilometers from the city center, and is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. The following is an introduction to the temple:
Historical background: Hongluo Temple was founded in the fourth year of the Xiankang era of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (AD 338), originally named 'Daming Temple'. During the Zhengtong era of the Ming Dynasty, Emperor Yingzong bestowed the name 'Huguo Zifu Chan Temple'. Due to the legend of the Hongluo Fairy, it is commonly known as 'Hongluo Temple' among the people. The temple is a permanent residence for monks from all directions and is the birthplace and largest Buddhist jungle in northern China. The last two patriarchs of the Chinese Pure Land sect both preached and taught here, and successively established the Pure Land practice centers at Beijing Hongluo Temple and Zhejiang Putuo Temple, giving rise to the saying 'In the south there is Putuo, in the north there is Hongluo'.
Architectural style: Hongluo Temple faces south with its back to the north, built according to the mountain's terrain. The temple covers an area of over a hundred acres, with five courtyards and 244 halls and rooms. The main buildings, the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the Mahavira Hall, and the Hall of Three Saints, are arranged from south to north in the central courtyard.
Scenic layout: The scenic area has now formed three cultural zones: Hongluo Temple, Guanyin Temple, and the Great Buddha, and two natural viewing areas: Hongluo Mountain and Qinglong Mountain, with a total area of 800 hectares.
Three unique views: 'Imperial Bamboo Forest, Ginkgo Couple, Wisteria Resting on Pines' are scattered inside and outside the ancient temple, with a million bamboo poles and thousands of acres of ancient pine forests embracing the entire temple, forming a beautiful picture of 'green waves hiding the ancient temple'.
In addition, Hongluo Temple is also known as a place 'extremely efficacious for seeking marriage, offspring, and academic success', attracting many faithful men and women to come and worship Buddha and burn incense every year, with a very prosperous incense offering.
If you are interested in history, culture, and natural scenery, or if you want to pray for marriage, offspring, or academic success, why not take a trip to Beijing Hongluo Temple.
🌈Transportation:

Hongluo Temple in Huairou, Beijing
April's fragrant bloom makes it a great time for leisurely outings. During the weekend, I took my child on a trip to Huairou, Beijing, and visited the ancient temple of Hongluo, praying for blessings and enjoying the spring flowers in their full glory.
Hongluo Temple is a Buddhist temple from the Jin Dynasty in Huairou, Beijing, located 3 kilometers north of Huairou District in Beijing at the southern foot of Hongluo Mountain.
Originally named 'Daming Temple,' it was bestowed the name 'Huguo Zifu Chan Temple' by Emperor Yingzong during the Ming Dynasty's Zhengtong era. Due to the legend of the Hongluo Fairy, it is commonly known as 'Hongluo Temple.' As a temple for the ten directions, it is a birthplace of Buddhism in northern China and the largest Buddhist jungle.
The temple faces south with its back to the north, built according to the mountain's terrain. The main structures, the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the Mahavira Hall, and the Hall of Three Saints, are arranged from south to north in the central courtyard. The entire scenic area encompasses the cultural zones of Hongluo Temple, Guanyin Temple, and the Great Buddha, as well as the natural viewing areas of Hongluo Mountain and Qinglong Mountain.
Entering the scenic area and passing through the bamboo forest, the majestic and solemn mountain gate stands before you. The walls on both sides of the stone steps are covered with colorful bougainvillea stretching out and blooming freely, competing in beauty and splendor, creating a serene and beautiful spring painting that everyone loves. This spot is perfect for taking photos and creating memories.
In spring, the Hongluo Temple scenic area, inside and outside the temple, in front of and behind the halls, on the mountains and below, is filled with a variety of blooming flowers, such as forsythia, azaleas, peonies, peach blossoms, apricot blossoms, magnolias, cherry blossoms, lilacs, and more, all competing in beauty. In addition to these, there are peonies and the 'Wisteria Resting on Pine,' one of the three unique views of Hongluo Temple, which will be at its most beautiful at the end of April and early May, making the ancient temple a great place to enjoy the springtime.
'Praying at Hongluo Temple, all wishes come true.' Tourists love to visit Hongluo Temple mainly because praying here is believed to be particularly efficacious.
Pray for family harmony, good health, many children and blessings, abundant wealth, happiness and smoothness, and disaster relief. Light three sticks of incense with sincerity, express your wishes, and Hongluo Temple has been efficacious for thousands of years.
Behind Hongluo Temple is Hongluo Mountain, where you can take a cable car up the mountain. Besides the cable car, there are four paths to choose from: Guanyin Road, Youth Road, Hongluo Road, and Health Road.
Climb high for a distant view, with the city's construction landscape on one side and the immortal green mountains with blooming flowers on the other.
During the Qingming Festival mini-holiday, come to Hongluo Temple in Huairou, Beijing, for prayers that are believed to be efficacious and to enjoy the beauty of blooming flowers competing in splendor.

A myriad of flowers compete in beauty at Hongluo Temple, wishing for a smooth and successful time
In the spring, the ancient temple of Hongluo is serene and solemn, as if isolated from the world, enjoying a peaceful and beautiful solitude. Around the temple, a multitude of flowers bloom, with the welcoming spring blossoms, azaleas, forsythias, peach blossoms, apricot blossoms, magnolias, and bougainvillea cascading in a competition of splendor, forming a beautiful spring scroll.
Amidst this sea of flowers, Hongluo Temple appears even more solemn and mysterious. It stands quietly, as if guarding this land and every person who comes to make a wish.
I came to Hongluo Temple with a devout heart, hands clasped together, silently making a wish. The esoteric site of the ancient temple seems to possess a mysterious power, filling my wishes with efficacy.
I pray for my family's safety and health, for the smooth development of my career, and for love as sweet as it was at the beginning. Each wish is like the flowers of spring, full of vitality and hope.
Under the wishing tree of Hongluo Temple, I tied a red ribbon filled with wishes. At that moment, I seemed to feel an inner peace and tranquility, all my troubles carried away by the wind.
Leaving Hongluo Temple, I looked back to see the temple shining in the spring sunlight, the ancient temple amidst the sea of flowers, like a beautiful painting, forever in my heart.
Hongluo Temple, where flowers bloom profusely in spring, is a place of esoteric ancient charm. Here, I have felt the beauty of nature and experienced the efficacy of making wishes. May everyone who comes to Hongluo Temple find solace for their soul and realize their beautiful wishes.
Beijing Hongluo Temple (Southern Putuo, Northern Hongluo)
🍀 Hongluo Temple is located 3 kilometers north of Huairou District and 55 kilometers away from downtown Beijing. Facing south and built along the mountain, it is backed by Hongluo Mountain and overlooks Hongluo Lake. Surrounded by mountains and water, the area is rich in forests and ancient trees reaching to the sky. Hongluo Temple has a long history of over 1600 years and profound Buddhist cultural heritage, hence the saying 'Southern Putuo in the south, Northern Hongluo in the north'.
🍄 The legend of Hongluo Temple: It is said that two princesses of the Jade Emperor descended to earth together and were deeply attracted by a serene ancient temple in front of a beautifully scenic mountain. They developed the idea of living there. Thus, they transformed into human forms during the day, joining the monks in the temple to worship Buddha and chant scriptures. At night, they turned into a pair of red snails, hiding in the release pond in front of the temple, and they continuously used their magic to help the people solve their problems. Their arrival brought favorable weather and peace to the people, but this did not last long. When the Jade Emperor learned of their unauthorized descent, he immediately sent celestial soldiers to escort them back to heaven. The people missed the two ladies and called them 'Red Snail Maidens', praying and hoping for their return every day. They also named the mountain, spring, and temple with the word 'Hongluo'. Since then, the story of the 'Red Snail Fairies' has been passed down in this place, and the temple is known as 'Hongluo Temple'.

Complete Guide to Photography Skills|At the Hongluo Temple, I captured the story of autumn
The ancient architecture and history shine together, each brick and tile tells the story of a thousand years. The golden ginkgo leaves are poetic and picturesque, and the falling red leaves become the protagonist in the lens. I recorded the beauty of this season, freezing the tranquility of the Hongluo Temple and the romance of autumn in the picture. Each photo is a mark of time, recording my encounter with the Hongluo Temple in this autumn.
In order to capture the unique charm and historical flavor of the Hongluo Temple, I carefully selected the following lenses:
1. Wide-angle lens: When shooting large scenes, such as the overall view of the Hongluo Temple, or when shooting the contrast between the male and female ginkgo trees and the Daxiong Hall, I will use a wide-angle lens. It can capture more scenery and show the grandeur of the architecture and the beauty of the ginkgo at the same time.
2. Fixed-focus lens: When shooting the crowd of incense and taking pictures, I will choose a fixed-focus lens, such as a 35 focal length. The fixed-focus lens can bring a clearer picture and vividly express the lively crowd and activities.
3. Telephoto zoom lens: When shooting distant views or to avoid crowd interference, I will choose a zoom lens with a telephoto. It can pull the distant scenery closer without affecting the content of the picture, or blur unwanted elements.
In addition, I will use the following photography techniques to improve the quality of my work:
1. Reasonable use of light: Sunrise and sunset are the golden times for shooting, when the light is soft and colorful, highlighting the beauty of autumn and the tranquility of the Hongluo Temple.
2. Pay attention to composition: I will try to use composition techniques such as the rule of thirds, symmetry, etc., to make the picture more layered and three-dimensional. At the same time, I will also pay attention to the combination of foreground, middle ground, and background to enhance the sense of space in the picture.
3. Capture details: I will carefully observe and capture details such as autumn leaves, temple carvings, and character costumes, all of which can become highlights of the picture.
4. Post-processing: I will use image processing software to post-process the photos, such as adjusting color, contrast, and brightness, etc., to enhance the expressiveness and artistic sense of the photos.
I hope this information can help you better capture the beautiful scenery and history of the Hongluo Temple. Happy shooting!
"The ancient temple is leaning against Yao, and the forest is deep in the forest. The dragonfly flies and leaves the leaves, and the wild birds dance." To say the ancient temple around the emperor, the Hongluo Temple in the north of Huairou is absolutely indispensable. "The first ancient temple in Jingbei" is not the name of the wave - Hongluo Temple was originally built in 378 AD (hey, this is more than 1000 years), and later expanded in the Tang Dynasty, once known as Daming Temple, also known as Huguo Temple. The name of "Hongluo Temple" is said to be because there are two colored red snails in the Pearl Springs under the mountain.
The two most impressive ancient ginkgo trees, the two ancient trees in front of the Daxiong Hall are said to have a history of more than 1100 years! It can be described as a sea mulberry field. After the replacement of the dynasty, the smoke of the smoke, the rise and fall of the world, the two male and female ginkgo leaves are still flourishing and are not abandoned. They are called "couple trees."
"Wisteria Sending Pine", "One of the Red Snails", um, this is indeed worth saying. Personally, I think it is the most interesting place in Hongluo Temple except for the huge ginkgo. At first glance, it is like a grape rack. Oh, two vines are covered with the tops of the flat-topped pines. The branches and leaves completely cover the 300-square-meter courtyard. Its obviously a bit dark when entering the yard. Its good to want to come to the rest of the summer to rest cool. Every year, when the vine flower blooms in May, it must be very beautiful. When I came back to check the information, I saw that in the Yuan Dynasty, "The Red Bull Mountain Daming Temple Monument" has the record of "Breeze Night Listening to Jin Yu, Zhu Tian Wei Fa Teng Luo". So, this "wisteria sent loose" has been more than 800 years. ! It is indeed a wonder.
Hongluo wins the sky, and the green sea is full of grass. In Beijing, it is quite a pleasant thing to find a good place in the winter.
Hongluo Temple on Hongluo Mountain, Hongluo Lake on the Hongluo Lake. Hongluo Temple has a long history, beautiful myths, solemn Buddha statues, and tall bamboo cypresses. Hongluo Temple is a thousand-year-old temple, a royal temple, a Buddhist temple forest, and many tourists come to pray.
Tired, just enjoy the scenery at the foot of the mountain, enjoy the male and female ginkgo, the wisteria, and the bamboo forest. Nearly in Foshan, my heart is Buddha, the bells in the distance, the melodious Buddhist scriptures, and the solemn Buddha statues. Visitors also feel this atmosphere, very quiet.
Autumn, colorful, portraits are excellent.
Beijing Hongjiao Hongluo Temple, now is a good time to see the Millennium Ginkgo. In front of the temple, one female and one male, two ancient trees are towering, the golden eyes are dazzling, the female plants are full of fruit, and the autumn is good.
and the male and female are more good, so the little couple who come here can have more couples and others.
The mountain trails are divided into two types, one up and one up, one to enjoy the scenery, just to see which one you like.
