|A natural oxygen bar nearby. The Mangrove Urban Wetland Park is located at the estuary of the Dan'ao River, Zhongxing Middle Road, Aotou Street, Daya Bay District, Huizhou City. It is an estuarine wetland where saltwater and freshwater meet. The scenic area is divided into an entrance management area, an ecological protection area, and a water-friendly activity area.
The wetland types within the scenic area are diverse and rich in layers, with dense mangroves and a wide variety of biological communities. It is the best-preserved mangrove community base in eastern Guangdong. There are 283 species of higher plants, including 47 species of wetland plants and 17 species of mangrove plants, mainly including tung trees, rat vines, white bones, sea hibiscus, autumn trees, and mangroves.
There are more than 340 species of animals inhabiting here, including 87 species of birds, 2 species of national first-class protected wild animals (painted stork and black-faced spoonbill), and 9 species of national second-class protected wild animals (brown-winged cuckoo, osprey, black-winged kite, snake eagle, black kite, common buzzard, kestrel, white-breasted kingfisher, and white-breasted kingfisher).
