Hands-on experience⭐︎You can feed the seals directly!
This aquarium is called Izu-Mito Sea Paradise.
I thought it would be smaller, but I enjoyed it very much.
The facility is not new, but you can feed the animals directly and see them up close.
When I went, there was a sea lion show and the photo shows a sea lion.
I've never seen a sea lion show anywhere else, so it's worth seeing.
There seems to be a dolphin show in another venue.
You can see the dolphins swimming leisurely in a private bay even when there is no show.
The location is great because the sea is right next to it.
Unfortunately, it was raining heavily when I went, so I couldn't take a picture of the sea, but if you walk around while watching the dolphins, you can see the sandy beach.
The exhibits included a fish called the "akame", which is known as one of the three most monstrous fish in Japan. This can only be seen in a few aquariums across the country.
I went with my wife, but I think it would be even more fun if you have small children.
There was also a play area just for children.
The souvenir section was very large, but it seemed like there were a lot of items aimed at children.
Highly recommended regardless of the weather!
