Heritage Evening Stroll in KL
Beneath the evening's gentle, amber hue,
I stroll through history at Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur's view.
This hallowed square, where freedom once grew,
A tapestry of time, a nation's debut.
Amidst the city's bustling, modern stride,
Dataran Merdeka stands with grace and pride.
Where once the Union Jack did preside,
Now Malaysia's flag, unfurled wide.
A field of green, where moments were born,
In 1957, a nation's spirit was sworn.
Tunku Abdul Rahman, on this morn,
Declared independence, a new day dawned.
Now, as the sun sets over the square,
I walk in its shadow, aware of the air.
With colonial architecture, statues rare,
A blend of old and new, a sight so fair.
The Sultan Abdul Samad Building, grand and tall,
Clock tower's chimes echo, a timeless call.
As I stroll beneath its elegant sprawl,
I feel the history, standing proud and tall.
The evening lights, a radiant bloom,
Illuminate the square, dispelling gloom.
In Dataran Merdeka's historic room,
I find solace in its ageless perfume.
With each step, I embrace the past and present,
In this place where independence was sent.
Dataran Merdeka, where hearts are lent,
A walk through time, a moment well spent.
