Jing'an Park - A Place of Tranquility
Jing'an Park is located on West Nanjing Road, named after the nearby Jing'an Temple. The park opened in 1954, making it 70 years old!
The design of the entire park incorporates the strengths of both Chinese and Western gardens, with large lawns, making it a public space that combines ecological and leisure landscape features, and the environment is quite nice!
Walking into the park, the first thing you see is the tall trees on both sides, with many benches underneath where people sit and rest, with hardly any empty seats. People are either taking photos, exercising, drinking coffee, dancing, chatting... Everyone can find their own fun, and there's a market at the entrance. Inside the park, there is a statue of Cai Yuanpei, which adds a touch of culture to the park!
It's really rare to have such a park in the midst of a bustling city, it's quite popular. The age of the park has allowed for lush greenery, with hydrangeas of many colors in bloom, tender and pretty.

Jing'an Park is half lively and half serene. Walking through the entrance pathway, there are aunts, uncles, and elders playing music and dancing.
In Jing'an Park, there is also an Eight Views Garden, which closes early, with an entrance fee of 3 yuan.

In the bustling Jing'an Temple commercial district, Jing'an Park is a precious piece of greenery
Jing'an Park is located at No. 1649 West Nanjing Road, bordered by Yan'an Middle Road to the south and West Nanjing Road to the north. It is named after its position opposite Jing'an Temple and is also the only park in Jing'an District named after the district itself.
Upon entering the main gate of Jing'an Park, a straight and wide boulevard lined with trees comes into view, with 31 tall French plane trees neatly arranged on both sides. These century-old trees have become the iconic symbol of Jing'an Park.
Today, the park is an oasis surrounded by high-rise buildings. Both international visitors and locals stroll, exercise, read, and walk their children here, enjoying the tranquil natural atmosphere.

Urban Park Guide | Jing'an Park 2
Jing'an Park 2. A mini park in the city center, located opposite Jing'an Temple, with a bustling urban business district outside and a tranquil green world inside. It is like a dazzling green gem embedded in the heart of this international metropolis, providing citizens and tourists with an excellent place to escape the hustle and bustle and get close to nature.
🌟 Highlights:
Upon entering the main gate of Jing'an Park, a straight and wide tree-lined avenue comes into view, flanked by 31 tall plane trees. These century-old trees have become the iconic symbol of Jing'an Park.
The park features a garden within a garden that encapsulates the 'Eight Views of Jing'an' - the Bajing Garden. In this tiny garden of just 2,300 square meters, the traditional Chinese garden art techniques of varying natural scenery, winding paths, and complementary hidden views are cleverly used, with water features as the main element, connecting eight scenic spots along a winding path.
Near the west gate of the park, there is a lake. Strolling along the lakeside path, one can enjoy the picturesque scenery where the light of the lake and the mountains complement each other. The weeping willows by the lake sway gently, as if waving to visitors. Not far away, a rockery stands tall, reflecting in the water and creating a beautiful picture.
The park houses a statue of Mr. Cai Yuanpei, an educator, serving as a base for education that values respecting teachers and emphasizing education.
Outside the park, there are street singers and craftsmen with stalls, making Jing'an Park a park with a musical BGM.

Roses bloom and summer arrives
The Magic City flower viewing|Roses|Jing'an Park
As spring leaves and summer arrives, Jing'an Park becomes lush with greenery and the flowers recede into the background, making way for the main event. Approaching Gate No. 2, one is greeted by clusters of delicate roses forming a pink floral wall, and it is only then that one realizes, suddenly, that spring has slipped away with the wind into the lingering fragrance of the roses, and summer has arrived, dressed in the grandeur of roses.
Under the dense shade of green trees, the summer days are long, and the pavilions reflect in the pond. A gentle breeze stirs the crystal curtains, and the roses fill the courtyard with their fragrance. 'Summer Day at the Mountain Pavilion' by Gao Pian

Urban Park Guide | The serene Jing'an Park amidst the hustle and bustle
📍Exit 2 of Jing'an Temple Subway Station
Jing'an Park is half lively and half tranquil. Walking through the entrance pathway, you'll find aunties and uncles playing music and dancing. Further inside, by the central lake, there's a Thai restaurant enveloped in mist at times, which is quite romantic. Deeper into the park, you can see the statue of Mr. Cai Yuanpei. On the left side of the park, there's a spacious lawn where only birds linger. Heading towards the south gate, passing through the crisscrossing tree shadows, you can see the monument dedicated to respecting teachers and valuing education. Outside the south gate, there is a long rose wall, which is interrupted by a construction site in the middle.
Jing'an Park also has a Bajing Garden, which closes early, with an admission fee of 3 yuan. I'll go earlier next time to have a look.

In the bustling Jing'an Temple business district, Jing'an Park is a rare green space. It is an open park, free to the public.
Outside the park is the lively urban business district, but stepping into the park is like entering another world with its own tranquil atmosphere, where the pace of life immediately slows down.
Walking under the avenue of towering century-old camphor trees, feeling the warm sun of winter on your skin. Take a stroll in the shade, read a book or sunbathe on the park benches, and enjoy the peaceful natural atmosphere to your heart's content.
The park has a pond with light reflecting off the water, curved bridges over the water, small islands in the pond with ancient pines and bizarre rocks, creating a unique quiet, sightseeing, and leisure spot in the center of Shanghai.
Jing'an Park also has a garden within a garden - the Eight Views Garden, which condenses the 'Eight Views of Jing'an'. It is exquisitely charming and has a style of its own.

Urban Park Guide | The Hidden Garden Secret of Shanghai🎋 is right in Jing'an
🌿Every time you step into Jing'an Park, it's like entering a forest in the city. Did you know? In this lush greenery, there is a hidden garden secret covering 2300 square meters—Bajing Garden!
📜According to the 'Jing'an Baying Collection', there were eight scenic spots around the ancient Jing'an Temple, collectively known as 'Jing'an Eight Scenic Spots'. These eight spots are now recreated in Bajing Garden.
🔍So, what are the mysterious legends and stories behind these eight scenes?
🪨Hudu Lei: Once a coastal defense stronghold during the Jin Dynasty, it is now the first scene of Bajing Garden, with a city wall inlaid with eight stone steles from famous calligraphers of Shanghai, telling the poetic sentiments of the ancients.
🌳Chen Dynasty Cypress: Legend has it that this ancient tree was planted by the last emperor of the Chen Dynasty during the Southern and Northern Dynasties, witnessing the vicissitudes of history.
💧Luzi Ferry: It is said to have been the meeting point of the east and west Luzi cities, an important traffic route in ancient times.
🪨Chi Wu Stele: A witness to the Hudu Chongyuan Temple (the predecessor of Jing'an Temple) created during the Eastern Wu period of the Three Kingdoms, the stele inscription records that period of history.
💧Yongquan Spring: The spring flows day and night, and the ancients built a pavilion here, named Ying Tian Yongquan, acclaimed as 'the sixth spring in the world'.
🪨Green Cloud Cave: Said to be the meditation site of Shouning, the abbot of Jing'an Temple during the Yuan Dynasty, filled with mystery.
🪨Lecture Platform: During the Jiading era of the Song Dynasty, the monk Zhong Yi gathered people here to preach and pass on Buddhism.
💧Shrimp Pond: The legend of the Song Dynasty monk Zhiyan gives this pond a magical aura.

A classical garden hidden in the bustling downtown area, where you can quietly listen to the sounds of the city
🌸 A tranquil green park surrounded by high-rise buildings, there is a rather famous attraction within the park called the Eight Views Garden. It was built based on the once famous 'Eight Views of Jing'an' and although not large in size, it possesses a unique and charming character.
🌟 Inside the Eight Views Garden, one can behold a richly verdant three-dimensional scroll of scenery. It is adorned with rockeries, pavilions, 💦 ponds, and set against a backdrop of greenery, with dappled bamboo shadows on the water surface. 🐢 You can also spot turtles basking leisurely on the rocks, adding a delightful touch.
📝 The park is located in a bustling area, and it's constantly visited by a stream of tourists. Yet, within the Eight Views Garden, you can find a piece of tranquility and a comfortable atmosphere just for you❗
Wandering Taste Buds
The earliest place for cherry blossoms to bloom in Shanghai's urban area is Jing'an Park
The 6 cherry trees on the large lawn of Jing'an Park, the earliest place for cherry blossoms to bloom in Shanghai's urban area, have quietly bloomed!
It is rare to have a green space in the Jing'an Temple central city area where land is worth its weight in gold, and to be able to enjoy flowers. To protect the green grassland, there are specially assigned security guards, only children are allowed to enter to play, adults can only wander around the periphery of the grassland.
Because it is not allowed to enter the grassland, the shooting distance is far, and only a few angles can be hastily selected.
Fortunately, under the backlight in the afternoon, the petals of the cherry blossoms seem to be edged with gold, which is very beautiful.
The cherry blossoms are in full bloom, and spring is coming soon, right?
