Jiuzi Ancient Town
Travelogue | A trip to Jiuzi Ancient Town in Wuhu ✨||✨ I went to Jiuzi Ancient Town in Wuhu, Anhui with my parents on the weekend ✨
About tickets:
For non-local tourists coming to Jiuzi Ancient Town, you need to purchase a ticket!
However, if you have booked a hotel in the town, there's no need to buy one! Just show your booking confirmation to the staff at the ticket checkpoint and you can come in and take a look~
If you want to visit the scenic spots, you need to buy a through ticket! The price is not high, 70 per person, and if you want to buy a ticket, you can do so at the entrance~ It's available for self-service purchase, which is very convenient
For those coming from out of town, I suggest staying for a night, because the night view is really, really beautiful! I personally think that the charm of most ancient towns lies in their night scenes, and Jiuzi is no exception!
About accommodation:
I stayed at Yiyun Inn, which is part of the Yi Holiday brand, and it's super well-located
I arrived at noon, so I first went into the town to find something to eat, walked towards the center for a long time, and also saw a few small scenic spots
Later, I contacted the inn's staff, and she came directly to my location to pick me up, so I didn't have to look for her
Only then did I realize that the inn is super close to the entrance, just about a five-minute walk away
There are places to eat not far from it, and there's a snack street if you walk further~ There's also a convenience store nearby, which makes shopping very convenient
The inn itself is quite large, with a long corridor, dining area, and the like upon entering
It seems to be a newly opened inn, some areas are not yet in use, and a large dining room is empty, giving it a bit of a cold feeling, haha
I stayed in a double room, and the overall feeling is that of a very clean white color,
The bed has a frame-like shelf across it, which is quite distinctive
Air conditioning, TV, and other amenities are all very complete, the toilet and shower are separate, divided into two rooms, and the wet and dry separation is done super well, I have a good impression of such wet and dry separated homestays, hehe~
About the scenic area:
Jiuzi Ancient Town covers an area of more than 20,000 square meters, which is quite large. In addition to the representative Huizhou-style architecture of our southern Anhui region, it also includes some performances, with some shows during the day at different locations in the town, which you can find according to the performance schedule~
At night, because it gets dark, there are fewer types of performances
I was lucky on the day I went, as it coincided with the official opening day of Jiuzi Ancient Town, so I got to enjoy quite a few performances, drone shows and fireworks seem to be special performances, but the molten iron flower show seems to be held every night
Don't miss the molten iron flower show when you go, it's by the river, you can ask the staff in the roadside shops for the exact location, make sure to find a good spot to enjoy it! It was my first time watching the molten iron flower, quite impressive~ After all, it's a national-level intangible cultural heritage
I also thought the drone show that day was very good, right above the ancient town, you can see it from the main street~ I've seen drones at school, but it was my first time seeing so many drones haha
After the drones, there were fireworks, which you can watch from the same place, that day the fireworks lasted for over half an hour, everyone crowded together to watch 🎆
