Hiked 20 km from Wengen to Kleine Scheidegg and down to Lauterbrunnen—896m elevation gain in 5 hrs. Took train to Wengen and started the hike. Took the longer, wooded trail up (moderate, some slippery spots) and scenic, easy trail by the railway down. Slow down and take a deep breath! We were reminded all the way “don’t run, don’t jump”, but we couldn’t help but take a few quick steps when walking up the stairs, which resulted in dizziness. It is recommended to bring a bottle of water, drink it in small sips, and take deep breaths to adjust your rhythm. There is a medical station on the top of the mountain where you can seek help if you feel really unwell. 4⃣Keep oxygen cylinders as a backup, but don’t rely on them The rented oxygen cylinders were not used in the end, but I put them in my bag for peace of mind. In fact, most people can adapt within half an hour, so don’t scare yourself!
