🌀 Encounter Poetry as You Take the Elevator
The "Poetry Monument" Directly Connected to Minatomirai Station and a Tour of Recommended Clothing Stores in Queen's Square
Did you know that on the way up to ground level via the escalator or elevator from Minatomirai Station on the Minatomirai Line, there's a monument to poetry inscribed on a giant stone slab?
It's a monument of poetry, as if the words themselves are floating in the air. Written by a certain poet, its quiet message illuminates the stairs with light, creating a special place where passing by becomes a poem.
It's a little hard to find if you're using the elevator, but you'll find it next to the escalator or near the Queen's Square B3 exit.

🎡 [Poetry and Shopping at Minatomirai Station]
After getting off the subway and ascending the escalator, I came across a "poetry monument" quietly floating in light and shadow. A place filled with poetry in the city is more moving than I expected...
"Anyone who's ever ridden the long escalator that runs from the basement of Minatomirai Station to the ground floor of Queen's Square has surely seen this poem-like inscription on a black stone slab. It was written in the 18th century by German poet Friedrich von Schiller. Schiller is also famous for writing the lyrics to Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 (Choral).
"This poem is one of the public art pieces located within Queen's Square Yokohama.
It's a work by contemporary artist Joseph Kosuth, and is titled "The Boundaries of the Limitless." "
I headed straight to Queen's Square for some shopping at ZARA and URBAN RESEARCH. 🛍✨ The selection of spring and summer items was so great, it really got me excited about fashion.
