Cat Airport???!! How awesome!!
Who else loves airport as much as i do??
Every airport represent their city and as for Kuching Airport it more represent to Sarawak Culture. Quite easy place to go, no confuse lane as it is straight forward entree or exit.
U can get popular ‘kek lapis’ as souvenir when u want to go back to your country/state. There is also traditional merchandise that u can buy.
It just when u need to drop your luggage, its a bit trick as u need to scan everything even though u haven’t decide to boarding yet. Hope they can change that like in Senai Airport where there’s no need to scan things that not in the drop luggage.
Overall nice cosy place & comfortable while waiting for your next flight.

Kuching International Airport: Small but Efficient Gateway to Sarawak
Kuching International Airport (KIA) serves as the main air hub for Sarawak, offering a decent travel experience with room for improvement. While not the largest or most modern airport in Malaysia, it provides essential amenities and a relatively smooth journey for passengers.
The airport’s biggest advantage is its compact size, making check-in, security, and immigration processes quick and hassle-free. Even during peak hours, lines move efficiently, and the staff are generally friendly and helpful. The terminal is clean and well-maintained, though the design feels a bit dated compared to newer airports like KLIA.
Dining options are limited, with a few cafes and fast-food outlets, but don’t expect a wide variety. Shopping is similarly basic, with duty-free stores offering standard selections of chocolates, alcohol, and souvenirs. Free Wi-Fi is available, though the connection can be spotty at times.
One downside is the lack of comfortable seating in the departure area, especially for longer waits. The airport also gets crowded during peak travel seasons, and additional flights in the future may strain its current capacity.
On the plus side, KIA is conveniently located just a short drive from Kuching city center, making transfers quick and affordable. Taxis and ride-hailing services are readily available.
Overall, Kuching International Airport does its job well as a functional regional airport. It may not wow travelers with luxury or high-end facilities, but it’s efficient, straightforward, and gets you in and out without much fuss. A minor upgrade in seating and dining options would greatly improve the passenger experience.

A Smooth and Satisfying Flight with Malaysia Airlines B737-800
#cherryblossom25
My flight with Malaysia Airlines on the B737-800 from Kuching was a truly comfortable and relaxing experience. The cabin was cozy, and the presence of an inflight charging port added convenience throughout the journey.
The inflight meal—Assam fish with rice—was flavorful and well-prepared, perfectly complemented by a cup of good tea. The flight was smooth from takeoff to landing, enhancing the overall sense of ease and satisfaction. With attentive service and thoughtful amenities, Malaysia Airlines delivered a pleasant and memorable journey. A great flight experience with MH that left me feeling refreshed upon arrival.

[Malaysia] Kuching International Airport: A convenient airport with many flights
#0yentravel
Kuching International Airport was the airport I used when traveling to Sarawak, and it was not far from the city and was easy to access. The terminal was larger than I expected, and it was clean, and I got the impression that it was well-equipped despite being a regional airport. There were not only domestic flights, but also international flights to Singapore and other places, and there were more people coming and going than I expected. It was a short drive from the airport to the city, so moving around after arriving was smooth. There were many restaurants and other establishments within the airport, so I thought it was an airport where you wouldn't get bored even when transferring.

Flying with A350 for Short Haul Flight with me
#favouriteitinerary Recently I was blessed to be able to take the Malaysia Airlines signature A350 wide body aircraft flying groom Kuching to Kuala Lumpur. It was an upgrade from the usual B737s. The flight has the most efficient engines and the flight ride was super smooth and stable. A350 has the curvy wingtips to reduce reduce vortex drag caused by the convergence of high-pressure and low-pressure air at the tip of its wings. The business class seats are super comfy and spacious.

**"Convenient and Familiar: Burger King at Kuching Airport Departure Hall"**
#100waysoftravel
**Ambiance:** The Burger King located in the departure hall of Kuching Airport is a convenient stop for travelers. The space is clean and functional, though not particularly stylish. It serves its purpose well, providing a quick and familiar dining option.
**Service:** The staff are generally efficient and polite, although service speed can vary depending on the time of day and crowd size. During peak travel times, there might be a bit of a wait.
**Food Quality:** As expected from a Burger King, the menu features classic items like the Whopper and fries. The quality is consistent with other locations; however, the freshness of the ingredients can sometimes be hit or miss. On the plus side, the food is generally prepared to standard and offers the comfort of familiar fast food.
**Value for Money:** Prices are comparable to other Burger King outlets, though slightly higher due to the airport setting. It’s a reasonable option if you’re looking for a quick meal before your flight.
**Overall Experience:** It’s a decent spot for a quick bite if you’re passing through Kuching Airport. The convenience of grabbing a burger and fries while waiting for your flight outweighs the minor downsides. It’s not a gourmet experience, but it does the job of satisfying hunger in a familiar setting.
