This is the best aquarium we have ever visited! It truly deserves its reputation as one of the world's top aquariums. The layout is fantastic, the tanks of marine life and plants are stunning, and there are some interesting and educational films. The largest marine life tank looks different from every angle due to its wonderful design and creative structure. I saw corals, penguins, otters, and various fish species. There were giant starfish, sharks, and eels, as well as tiny worms and jellyfish. I discovered creatures I had never seen before. They know their names and respond well to their keepers. It was amazing to see sharks befriending tuna and stingrays. There were huge manta rays and giant sunfish. If you have enough time, you can tour the aquarium in about 2 hours. It's definitely worth a visit!

#dreamdestination The Oceanário de Lisboa or Lisbon Oceanarium has attracted us with its extraordinary reputation. Even though it is located in a city full of beautiful old churches, museums and palaces, it has become so popular that it has surpassed the number 1 Top Attraction in Lisbon. It also has the degree of being the second largest Indoor Aquarium in Europe, so we had to stop by to satisfy our curiosity. 📌 Location/Directions The Lisbon Oceanarium is located on the shores of the Tagus River in the northeast of Lisbon in an area called Parque das Nações, which was once used to host World Expo '98. The design of the place is therefore modern, clearly different from the city center. It is also quite far from other tourist attractions. You have to take a bus / subway / or train, which has many routes as follows: ➡️ Bus – The nearest bus stop is Oceanário de Lisboa, with many routes passing through. However, if you come from the city center near Santa Apolonia Station, there is route 728, which is the one that passes through and requires the least walking. (About 5-10 minutes walking distance) ➡️ Train - The main train station Estação do Oriente is about a 20-25 minute walk away. There are many train lines from the city center, so the advantage is that you don't have to wait as long as you would for a bus, but it's quite a bit further to walk. ➡️ Underground - The red subway line exits at Oriente Station, the same station as the train station, so it's about the same distance to walk. ⏰ Opening Hours Divided into 2 seasons: Summer: 10:00 - 20:00 (last entry 19:00) Winter: 10:00 - 19:00 (last entry 18:00) 🦈 Exhibition The structure is that there will be a large Main Aquarium in the center. It holds 5 million liters of seawater and is 23 feet high (deep) and is surrounded by 4 smaller round tanks, displaying marine plants and animals from 4 locations around the world: North Atlantic Rocky Coast / Antarctic Coastal Line / Temperate Pacific Kelp Forests / Tropical Indian Coral Reefs. Outside, there are also sea otter mammals. They are quite cute. I heard that this is one of the few aquariums in the world that has Ocean Sunfish. For those who are knowledgeable and interested in marine life, you should try looking for it. Overall, I feel that this place is both large and has interesting displays that live up to its reputation. It is very enjoyable to walk around. However, the size of the place means that it takes quite a long time to see everything. It is not suitable for people with limited time. If you have children with you, we think you should not miss it. In addition to being amazed by the marine animals, there is also a toy/souvenir shop outside. The shop is huge and children will definitely love it.

Lisbon Oceanarium, the largest indoor aquarium in Europe, offers 16.000 different species to populate 7 million litres of water. In the largest 7 metres deep tank are sharks, rays, a very rare sunfish, barracudas and groupers that all live together in 5 million literes of water. (pics 1-2). There are two sea otters in the Oceanarium who form a couple and one of them is in picture 3. Common Murres and Magellanic Penguins are part of the cold water ocean exhibition. (4-5) The tropical Indian coral reef's habitat comes with a Powder-Blue Surgeonfish.
